Facebook investors grill Zuckerberg: 'Emulate George Washington, not Vladimir Putin' JP Mangalindan Chief Tech Correspondent Yahoo Finance May 31, 2018 Facebook’s (FB) shareholder meeting on Thursday was a heated affair, as investors vented their frustrations over the social network’s handling of recent scandals.
“If privacy is a human right … then we contend that Facebook’s poor stewardship of user data is tantamount to a human rights violation,” stated Christine Jantz, chief investment officer at Northstar Asset Management, which is a Facebook investor. Facebook risked becoming a “corporate dictatorship,” James McRitchie, a Facebook investor, said to Zuckerberg. “Mr. Zuckerberg, take a page from history,” McRitchie added. “Emulate George Washington, not Vladimir Putin.”...... http://finance.yahoo.com/news/facebook-investors-grill-zuckerberg-emulate-george-washington-not-vladimir-putin-202351329.html

Are you calling your little Marxist Messiah, Obama, a LIAR? Obama says ‘there is no spying on Americans,’ but what about our data? 08/07/13 Adam Serwer

Hey, no skin off my nose if you and other facebook users want facebook tracking your every move online, on your private telephone numbers AND all the people in your email contact list...and selling your private user information to advertisers. If you want to give up your own privacy rights, go for it but just make sure the people in your email contact lists don't mind either. As for me, I'll take a pass on all that. IP: Logged |

I am so sick of FB and the evils that spin off from it------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

If people don't read user agreements they are asking for nasty surprises. Of you join FB you are accepting that agreement whether you read it or not. IP: Logged |

Which monopolies should be regulated? Are you suggesting FB is a monopoly? Right now the Republican party is a monopoly in Washington, a sick situation indeed. FB on the other hand has many competitors. No one is obligated to belong or go there. The worst thing an advertiser can do to you is push ads. I dont answer strange numbers; however if you ever visited an Anti Trump page the DOJ is looking for your info and they CAN do more than push ads. One of those advertisers, by the way, is your angelic leader! Yes, irony abounds.

Methinks you need to grab a dictionary or have a conversation with Siri or that other monopoly, Google. Bing is far superior, yet Google gets 99% of search traffic. While I support a free market, once a corporate behemoth that is "neutral" in content begins censoring one political party over another, it loses its protections. There's also a good case that Google, Facebook, and Twitter are monopolies. In the very least, they are not content neutral, so they lose liability protection. I'm not even going to address your ludicrous comment about Republicans, which is deserving of even less commentary than this sentence. IP: Logged |

No good comes of a one party government. In 2010 I welcomed some balance in congress for that reason..and your smug belief that having all of it your way will bring you happiness can't be corrected by a trip to a dictionary. But it will be corrected. All of a sudden you believe in regulations.. but you gave consent to an agreement you apparently didn't read and you don't seem to mind that the DOJ seems to feel entitled to the very same information you object to advertisers having.
