what do you do to help?

We recycle, I do garden, although not as much as I want to. I need help there. We can't afford to switch to solar power, but it would be good to have some installed, it would help. I don't drive, and use as little plastic as possible. I'm doing what I can.

But I was just answering Randall's question.

You're welcome. I should add that I don't drive, but my dad does - he drives me to the store, or if we go somewhere. He also has to drive for work.

I miss the UK, because I could take buses and trains everywhere. It isn't perfect, but they move a lot of people. We walked a lot, too. I'm too far away from towns to walk - we're in the middle of nowhere. A few years ago, our area was voted the dullest in the State.

Public Service Announcement of the day: A nut job is a nut job.

President Trump used to be a Democrat. So did I. I don't recall him making ridiculous claims of doom and gloom like the far left Chicken Littles of the Democrat party do today. And neither did I.

So his supporters are fine with him deporting children with cancer. Deporting children who are in the hospital with serious diseases, getting treatment.

i'm not a trump supporter, but i'll be honest i see no issue with deporting non citizens rather than granting them special access to health care

children are an emotional example and a useful tool to play on people's emotions because it sounds cruel to say "yes even an illegal immigrant child should be treated as an illegal immigrant" because people have a natural desire to want to protect children

however it's no one's fault or responsibility in america to take care of these people, even the children

what i see in that article is that someone from another country was given free health care and a free pass to stay in this country longterm for medical care that costs citizens money and after several years of care that stopped rather than continued indefinitely at cost to citizens

the disease in the article (sickle cell) has no cure, and while it's sad that if he had gotten sick in his home country in the first place he would've been ****** to begin with the reality is there's no reason why it should be a standard to allow people to come here with health issues, grant them free health care indefinitely and treat them and their families as citizens

that's money, time, and care that could go back into this country and citizens and would be better spent that way

it's no single government's job to take care of everyone, a government is ultimately only responsible for its citizens and citizens are only responsible for their government/each other

the real issue this article is overlooking is the lack of proper health care in haiti which is something for haitian people and volunteers to deal with on haiti's soil not ours

using children as an appeal to the emotions is low and a really pathetic tactic and the writer of that article should have found a better way to get a point across

i'm aware i'll come across as cold to people who are going to say "but a child..." but this is not just children, and it's not on our government or us to take care of everyone the world over

yes if someone is on a trip and gets sick or injured they should be able to go to a hospital and get treatment, but when it's ongoing treatment that will last a lifetime that isn't something anyone should be responsible for and at a certain point yes they do need to go back home to their country and no one here is responsible for whatever that country lacks

edit: btw i say this as someone with an incurable chronic illness that has no real treatment, is poorly researched, and is progressive

i know exactly what it is to be sick and have no real medical treatment options (and have for the past 6 years) and i know that sometimes you just end up with **** luck and that's life

@teasel

to add to what i said a system can't be designed to cater to everyone's feelings and it's not a government's job to make emotional calls

while i can say it's unfortunate for those children to be in such a position, and i feel for them i really do, i can't pretend that it's the government's responsibility to take care of them just because what they're experiencing is sad

a government is supposed to protect the best interests of its citizens and country, it is not in the best interests of us citizens to pay for longterm care for noncitizens on our soil

if that seems cold it's because decisions that are objective sometimes can be because they need to be, you can't make logically sound decisions for the masses when your heart is bleeding for the few

More Fake News Shiite!
Do you ever post anything here that's true?

Fact Check: No, Donald Trump Did Not Decide to Deport Kids with Cancer
Joel B. Pollak
30 Aug 2019

CLAIM: President Donald Trump is ending “a policy that allows migrants to not be deported while they or their family members receive life-saving medical treatments.”

VERDICT: False. There was never any such policy, and all the Trump administration is doing is moving discretion over individual cases from USCIS to ICE...........

I don't accept any declarations of fake news from you. You elected and continue to support a man who lies all the time, every single day.

If CNN said...It's a nice evening, I'd go out and probably find the sun brightly shining high in the sky.

CNN IS Fake New Central. Anyone who believes a word they say...including the words 'the' 'and' and 'it' is probably being deceived by those drooling CNN liars.

Here's one of CNN's claimed Trump lies.

"Trump likes to boast that he is smarter, tougher and more productive than previous presidents. He regularly finds new ways to favorably compare himself to the men who came before.

A perfectly true statement from President Trump, especially when compared to your Marxist Messiah wimp and empty suit, Barack Hussein Obama.

Next time you watch CNN or read one of their hysterical articles, turn your bullshiite detector on.
