President Biden approved over $932 million for North Carolina's Hurricane Helene relief in 2024, including $453 million for individual assistance (housing and other needs), $379 million for public assistance (infrastructure), and $100 million for emergency road and bridge repairs. Additional funding may have been allocated. The Trump administration recently denied extending 100% federal cost sharing, reducing it to likely 75% or 90%, which has sparked debate over recovery impacts.
