Go for it!
My friend was 69 and her lover was 19.
It only ended because he was killed in a motorcycle accident at 24, whilst she was 74.
A 50 year gap they had.

I am 29 now, but I have always dated older men. The biggest age difference was 18 years. I was 25 when I met him, he was 43.

A couple of times I did try dating younger, when I was 24 I dated a 22 year old Marine and when I was 25, right before I met the much older man I dated a 19 year old (that was the biggest age differnce to date in the other direction).

Most of my relationships are with a 5-7 year age gap though.

I attribute the older men thing to having Saturn in the 7th house. Older men are always attracted to me, they come on to me a lot.

I don't think it matters, age is just a number, I have met a lot of mature young people and a lot of older people who are childish in their thinking. You love who you love.

That's actually a common trend. Not with some people's worldview (obviously--lol), but with society as a whole.

People are not as "old"
as they used to be seen as.
Look back at pictures of your grandparents for example.
Often;
Their 40s looked like the 60s/70s of now.
Their 50s like the 70s/80s of now.
People in general just seem to not be letting age overcome them and define them any longer.
I have never considered age an issue to avoid love.
When the time comes that true love embraces me;
I shant allow chronological age to be of a hindrance nor a reason for hesitation!
That would be a sin.
A foolish mistake.
Never let age stop you from anything!
Be it dreams, love, and doing and being what is right for you!

It's not any more of a big deal than a same sex union or a couple of two different races...but some people will always have an issue with either of the three. People are free to choose, and love is always worth the choice.

Not. Unless motivated by something other than love or attraction. Then it's a bit icky.

Really good to see you too!

Was in a meeting with boss (plus others)the other day and remembered our conversation about his pens (you've probably forgotten it) and couldn't stop myself giggling. It's really not cool when you're trying to be professional!!!

It actually freaks me out. Older men have always freaked me out. I am talking anyone more than 5 years older than me. Never been with anyone of a big age difference (greater than 5 years).

I don't like much younger men either. I have a 5 year window for young and old. I've always only been with people in my own age group.

I think in an ideal sense, age (and all those other factors like race, religion, etc) are irrelevant when it comes to love.

However, in the real functional world, sometimes these things, including age, do cause problems that can't be overcome. Age can be an issue when it comes to lifestyle choices and needs, like having children. So whilst love knows no barriers, life unfortunately does have some.

I used to not be open to dating younger men. Now, I think differently. Obviously, getting older has a lot to do with that. Still, I prefer someone older, yet still within my generation.

The only real personal issue I can see, as long as it
really is true love;
is the biological children factor.
The rest depends on "can the couple ignore the
outside opinions about them"
There will always be jerks who will not understand.
As to lifestyle issues and needs.....
well, all will work out fine as long as both
honestly love and respect each other and are
sincere about wanting a life together, damn if society, friends, or even family objects!
I mean, such folks fell in love right?
Not with a lifestyle, but each other!
And as long as both can face reality, of course, that they cannot please everyone, but only need please each other, enjoying each other's company!
Well then, all will be right for them!
As too needs?
Everyone has needs!
Same for choices.
Communication must be open and honest.
If the love is truly mutually soulheart deep, nothing can stop it!
However bottom line, the thing we all want and need, is in all truth
LOVE

I don't care about what others think. If I really felt something for someone, age, colour, size, shape, race, whatever, wouldn't factor when it comes to a real heart-to-heart connection.

However, a big factor for me about being with a younger man would be that I just don't want any more children. This could be a deal breaker for a man who may want his own children, no matter how much we would love each other or life we could create together.

Some things just don't work in the real world.

On that note. I wouldn't want to be with someone famous either (I mean, I know, "as if", but still...).

Yeah, the children issue can be a serious one.
However;
I wish I could somehow have more children, and only with the right person.
(have one adult son)
Like even up to going to Mexico or someplace, if I were wealthy, lie about my age of course, and get impregnated artificially using suitable donated eggs.
As to a famous person;
I am too much of a recluse for that.
They could have the limelight but I'd avoid it.

[In response to the thread title] Not a big deal, though some segment of society will always find the old man with younger woman creepy.

True.
However;
Sadly, the opposite combination often creeps society out much more.

In my experience, and believe me i'm experienced - age is irrelevent if you like someone. You like the person. Some older women are far sexier than some younger women, and some younger women are far wiser than some older women. It's all about the person in front of you and ignoring any societal conditioning nonsense.
