It was to harass pure and simple. She already knows full well that I do not appreciate her making fun on/of serious topics, as she has done before to me. Depression is not funny. IP: Logged |

It does not belong on my depression threads nor this thread and nor is it funny what she has done. It is showing a big disrespect. IP: Logged |

Well, I know SHE knows how you feel, for sure. When in doubt, refer back to basic ego games... However, the thing I can't shake is the feeling that she's truly "not all there". IP: Logged |

Yes lexx i do understand...I do know how depression feels...i have been there myself many a times. I probably think she was trying to lift up the heavy sinking feeling/mood or may be she thought it would lift up our spirits a bit...that is how i felt. IP: Logged |

Sorry you have suffered from depression too. It is not a laughing matter. And no, Ami was not trying to lighten things up. She previously got in a fight with me because I got angry over her making fun of folks with deadly STDs. She knows damn well I do not appreciate her having her hee hee ha ha jollies over serious and potentially deadly issues. She claims to be a professional, a psychotherapist, or such, with a medical degree..... this is something she should know better than to do.

Well, I don't want to give anymore attention to it (until there's some sort of conclusion), because if it was a joke and I just missed the punchline, I will just feel irritated and manipulated when she blows on through LindaLand tomorrow...

I agree. If attention and discord is what she wanted, well yippie, she got it. Lets get back on topic. IP: Logged |

I will be attending a seminar on personality disorders for some needed CEU's... so I'll be adding whatever updated information I get, when I go. It should be interesting.IP: Logged |

I suppose so. I guess she did do it to joke around, if so I didn't like it at all and it should not be allowed especially in Sweet Peas when LEXX was CLEARLY not feeling well on her thread. But I see we have moved on from this, so I will (and need to) also. I guess the Kilroy thing served its purpose, good job, Ami because it certainly caught my attention : / IP: Logged |

It's nice to know that inflicting negative emotions on others is so enjoyable to you. FYI I spent most of the night worried that something may have happened to you. Silly me.Have a blessed day. IP: Logged |

To interject my two cents.. if ami has kundalini as she does practice kundalini yoga, this could be a blockage manifesting in her character. Kundalini is known for being a little odd to say the least.Either way.. I don't know much of what is going on and I don't want to get involved. IP: Logged |

I know they are just opinions, but I am saddened to see in this thread, just as it is all over the internet, the hopelessness people feel about BPD's. How apparently we cannot care about others, that we are constantly controlling and manipulating. That opinion is just as bad as those who believe we quite simply just take pleasure in 'bad behaviour' - senseless. No one is born bad. So why would you even take pleasure in bad behaviour? Is this where the controlling comes in, is that what it is, manipulation? A dicey assumption. In order to operate as people have posted in here complete lack of conscience would have to accompany the condition of BPD ... can anyone point me to any studies that back this up? It's positive that there are people in here who recognise it as a valid mental health condition, but such a shame that they regard it with such disdain. I am living proof that we are not beyond help, I am also living proof that we don't all act out our demons on others. The 'he hurt me, so I'll hurt you' attitude is a personal thing. I see a lot of sweeping statements in here about this condition that make me feel disliked by people I haven't even conversed with. And yes, I know I am not my condition, but I must identify with it and my own individual set of characteristics, otherwise I am essentially in denial. BPD is a condition of many faces, and many emotions. I rarely act OUT, I tend to act IN. I often act only in ways that hurt myself. I am validating an inner pain that I carry with a set of behaviours constructed partially as protection (that I don't need anymore) and as a replacement for the suffering I grew so accustomed to. Which part of this deems me beyond help, or unwilling to admit I have an issue? I have marched myself to the doctor more times than I care to count. Out of 5 (that I can remember) hospital visits, only once was I 'held' - every other time I requested help. It's wrong assumptions, blanket statements, and stereotypes that contribute to how difficult it is to get appropriately treated when you have a mental health condition. I will make an admission now: I am angry. At the start of this thread I was sad, and some of what I read here made me feel rejected for not being able to swan out of my trauma unscathed, so now I feel guilty, and embarrassed. And now I'm hungry. And sad again. This is not a bid for attention, I couldn't care less about attention for me, but I feel I must speak up against the stereotyping and the giving up. Because I refuse to give up on myself, or anyone else who happens to struggle with a controversial diagnosis. I hope I don't upset anyone. And I feel I must state that that's not manipulation. Ole! That's what threads do a lot of the time, but I'm sorry if I've pulled up anything no one wants to be reminded of ... My point was relevant to posts in this particular thread about BPD, so opening a new one wouldn't serve the same purpose. IP: Logged |
