Have you ever had a close brush with death? If so describe it?
What was your reaction and waht do you think saved you?Do you consider it as a Miracle?
Other than survival, what was important to you in that moment? Did your life flash before your eyes? Did you have any regrets? What hopes and dreams suddenly became most important to you? In what ways did the brush with death—your own or someone close to you—change your life?

I remember a few.
1.Was when i as a kid was standing on the pavement in the wee hours waiting for my school bus to arrive and since I belonged to the redgroup that day saturday I had to wear a red top and skirt for sports and out of the blue it so happened within a split second A seemingly mad black bull with twirling horns having sharp edges came darting towards me!
In my mind I thought I was imagining things out of a movie scene but just a small but a small squeak of voice told me to MOVE! and thak god I did that and no woder im alive today...But the shock was too immense for me to handle! It went away in some othe direction after hitting a wall!

hey rajji so glad that bull didnt harm you!!

i've almost been run over by a car or a motorcycle quite a few time. nothing too much though.

but my dad used to tell me about back when he was in is early 20s and the civil war here in beirut was in it's peak. u wouldnt believe the stories. he'd walk home early morning alone on the street, explosians evrywhere and gunshots etc.. he'd put his ID in his pocket and keep his hand on it in case something happened they would be able to identify him.. he said whenever he looked back to where he was standing he'd see something explode there. he was a couragous man and full of faith and as he would say to me "listn Sara no one will leave (die) before his time, you only die so u can be born again its the circle of life"

ahh.. i miss him!

I was hit by a car when I was 16.
I distinctly remember time slowing down so much, that I looked at the driver and remembered every detail about him, what he was wearing and everything about the car.
But the weird thing was, just at the point of impact a voice said to me
"Don't worry, this has happened before"
Not "You'll be alright"
Just "This has happened before"

I still haven't fathomed that one out.

The police couldn't believe I was alive. I broke my arm and had a head injury (a few stitches where I landed on the road) but the front of the car was completely stoved in.
And amusingly I tried to get up as if nothing had happened until I realised my arm was at right angles and that my head was stuck to the road with blood.
Whereupon I passed out..

And then I had an ectopic pregnancy at 25 and nearly bled to death.
Sadly there was no near death experience or lovely light to guide me. Just immense agony.

Venus I know How frightening the war times are full of fear and agony!..every single day seems like the last one...im glad your father endured it.

Bunnies..yes you are right about the accident that you went through...accidents are so horrifying..painful memories that leave behind scars.
Even i went through an accident not a major one..A bike hit me while crossing the road!
I was too weak after a bout of severe jaundice..my two friends who were walking with me sunddenly left me and ran to the other side of the road and i who thought of following them was hit..I blacked out..somebody revived me with some water when I tried to get up I felt a searing pain on my left knee and right elbow..I could walk properly and I couldnt bend down to use the toilet or sit for two months exams were rounds the corner so I had no choice but to attend them..even now a slight bump to my knee causes harrowing pain...I can only be careful but im scred of traffic and roads! And i know pretty well next time my knee is not going to survive...
Ectopic pragnancy..i have never heard of such a term. But sounds scary to me..Did u after that fear childbirth?was it very painful labour?

We were shocked to find the ceiling fan above our bed came crashing down!It was a Heavy old fan!Thank god we saved our heads from being smashed!

now thats what i call fate butting in its such a safe feeling, believing in destiny!thats why many people are against it. but accepting that you are walking down a path that was built just for you doesnt make you any less of a free spirit.

dear Bunnies, i hope, as rajji asked, you are not traumatized by your unfortunate pregnancy!

Im of the opinion that NDE may aor may not be the by product of having a close brush with death.
people reportedly had a close brush with death with and without an NDE.
Lexx im glad you ahd NDEs and OBEs but i dont think so I had them.
Though I have had experiences with narrow escape from death what lingers on with me is the question- why did it happen?was there any invisible force that helped?
and that is when I understand that there is a parallel world to us where the powers of evil and divine operate and thats what makes sense to me..

No I wasn't traumatised by my pregnancy and went on to have (very easily) two beautiful children. Thank you both for your kind comment.

Rajji....an ectopic pregnancy is when the fertilized ovum lodges or gets stuck in the fallopian tube and instead of making it's way to the womb begins to grow in the tube.
This eventually leads to it rupturing and unattended will cause you to bleed to death.

I didn't want to be pregnant at that time but I knew subconsciously I was so I prayed and prayed to be released...and I was...but most definitely not in the way I thought.

My prayer was answered but I nearly died because of it.
Be careful what you wish for.

But the Light was there my dear. In the form of sound. "Don't worry, this has happened before"

No,I did feel protected that time, when I was hit by the car.
I felt very calm and unconcerned.
But nine years later, when I was internally bleeding and fading away, that's all I felt...that I was fading away...to nothingness..

OK. But you nevertheless survived. So again you were protected. Somebody out there just won't let you go.
