It depends.
Why does it bother you? Are you afraid of something?

I mean I'm very comfortable with sex.. but I'm an Aries lol I don't mind making eye contact. But it's not a big deal if we don't. I love doggy style anyway!

Although - To be honest, if I had a bf who was blatantly scared of making eye contact - I'd have an urge to uncover the psychology behind that.. so I'd mess with him. If you're ever with an Aries woman - try not to 'let on' that you have an issue with it.

--

With the man I'm in love with and have had the best sex with - We simply *click* - it just comes naturally to make eye contact because we're so into each other and it's an amazing feeling.

No eye contact, no sex.

I personally find it weird that someone would be staring at the wall while having sex, that's creepy in an unemotional sort of way. IA that eyes are the windows to the soul and looking into your lover's eyes while having sex makes it a very deeply fulfilling and emotional experience.

Still, I can understand why some people would fret upon it. It is very intimate, having someone stare into your soul when you have opened up your body for them. It makes one feel very vulnerable.

P.s. I'm a Scorpio, just in case you were wondering

Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways.

Unless it's doggy style or reverse cowgirl, there is no exuse for no eye contact. I mean it doesn't have to be a starring contest. But for a portion of the time, there should be eye contact.

Sara duh-ling I have much earth.. Moon in Cap - Venus in Taurus and Mars in Cap

It's not an element thing or a male thing (I disagree).

It seems like a fear.

I mean generally in every day life when someone avoids eye contact - they do it out of 'fear' of something.. or embarrassment, or because they are hiding something.

It depends on the culture. In Aboriginal culture (I'm referring to Australian Aboriginals) - it's very rude/a sign of disrespect - to make eye contact.

But in western culture, we are brought up to think of eye contact as important and a big part of "getting to know" someone. For instance if you go to a job interview and you avoid eye contact - they will most likely find you suspicious or lacking in confidence. So it would be seen as a huge minus.

So because it is generally seen as 'evasive' behaviour.. I'd interpret it the same way sexually.
It's a hint that the person is not completely comfortable with their sexuality and feels a bit awkward or embarrassed either by the act of sex itself or the person they are doing it with - so they are trying to escape the situation by avoiding eye contact.
I mean I know - it's still enjoyable physically (so you are not avoiding the situation *entirely*) - but on some level it's still escapism to avoid the eyes of the person you are having sex with.

I think that eye contact is extremely sexy and intimate. To me it is the way to become "one with each souls".

People who don't enjoy this type of thing are usually afraid of this extreme form of intimacy. They feel invaded or like their personal boundaries are being crossed. They fear sharing the deepest part of themselves. It is all based on fear. It is something, like most things involving the overcoming of fear, that if you open yourself up to and understand then it can make the sex better and you a happier and stronger person more willing to express your vulnerable side.

It is being afraid that someone can see into your being. "The eyes are the window to the soul".

hispanic cultures are like that too...like, when a parent is scolding their kid, they'll tell him or her not to look them in the eye because its disrespectful (i know this from the spanish classes i took )

Eye contact required for me in all arenas of human contact. I cannot trust a person or animal who will not make eye contact. Pure and simple, I feel they are hiding something, are sneaky, or un-trustworthy.
Every human and or animal that has harmed me in different ways, was unable or refused to give at least some eye contact.

I agree completely with this ^.

Eye contact for me in general is very difficult.. I usually close my eyes. I suppose I'm just insecure about how I look during sex lol, and I suppose I'm scared to see if they are not enjoying it or not. lol. Though the other day I realized that I need to really love the person to look into their eyes during. It was unlike any other experience. So personal. Even though you're completely at someone else's mercy already, looking into someone's eyes during the experience is giving yourself up completely, I think. Which is why it is so scary. But so fulfilling at the same time.

Do you feel like they are also at your mercy? Or do you feel like it is one sided?

I think maybe you are afraid because you are unsure that the other person is also 'in love'.. so maybe you think they have an upper hand in some way. Is that the case?

With the man I'm in love with - there is so much mutual trust and I don't feel scared at all when I'm around him.. not scared by him and not scared by anything in general. I just feel safe.

Scorpios tend to have these poker faces practically the whole time so watching that tight-wound self-control fall apart, just for your eyes to see...mmm...there's nothing quite like it.

Plus admit it folks, soul-sharing is far too intimate than sharing just bodies

It doesn't happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily,or have sharp edges,or who have to be carefully kept.
Generally,by the time you are Real most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.
But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly ,except to people who don't understand.
