Crushes come in three levels/categories (RS <3) for me too...the lighthearted ones - "puppy love" or "fleeting love" ~ generally where it is based on some small token attraction, a look or some mundane gesture, or unique trait/flaw, that I find amusing about someone.
infatuations - "the muse syndrome" - usually felt after becoming acquainted more with that person, and more driven to be acted upon, however impulsively... in cases where that person has something in common with me, or has peeked my curiosity, or done something I would consider noble or proven to be intellectually stimulating. They're often based on shallow misconceptions, false/unrealistic ideals that the other person is unaware of me having imagined for them... haha (what it's the truth?!)
and then there are the dark ones... Where my Martian Pluto, (Plutonic Martian conjnnction) drives are compelled to chase, dwell, and suffer for their interests.
These are undeniably called "obsessions"!
The urges and interests of both previous crushes combine, and then you seek to find a deeper bond with that person, by whatever means possible. Generally they go unrequited, or cause chaos... they're not a good kind of crush, but they do happen... People either hurt themselves or the ones they are "crushing" on, during this sort of "love". As for me, more often than not it's unrequited, often unspoken, if it is it becomes a much unwanted, and regrettable experience.
Thankfully I find most of my crushes are in the "fleeting" category, and they do end up becoming my temporary "muse"....
