Ian,

I've got the sniffles about this video! How sweet that you made it for him.

You have such a beautiful son, beautiful family!

what a beautiful boy...and family. all those smiles make up for a lot, don't they? my grandson had some serious health challenges as a young'un, not as serious as mitchell's but enough to prevent him from many things he loved, climbing, scooting, biking and just plain being free physically...

the only reason i bring him up here is because his illness diverted him from the "normal" and he is an exceptional child, like your son...there are gifts in every adversity...

Lexx,

Special thank you to you. This is not because you are a moderator or anything like that.

It takes a special person to show empathy. It takes an even more special person who shows empathy when the donor can't relate to the recipient.

Having said that, you see that I'm a regular guy with regular problems, and some not so regular problems.

Thank you very much.

Thank you, all wonderful ladies.

Now I speak as a proud father, so pardon my bragging.

Mitchell just won second place in Connecticut for original music composition. He will be considered for the 2014 US Presidential Scholar for the Arts award. He plays the piano as a soloist and the violin at orchestra level.

He has a 3.9 GPA. He will be applying for early acceptance to Yale and regular acceptance to other schools, including mine. He will be trying out for Julliard and Mannes.

One more video about Mitchell:

He was the 2008 Child Equestrian of the Year for North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.

I am sorry to hear about your daughter.. my belief is that there is no pain and no sorrow on the other side, though I have never crossed. I am sure she is with you in spirit.

Bottom line is I feel and understand and relate to your sincerity and the agonies of losing children and having a very ill child.
It does not matter that we are worlds apart in our lives/social structure/finances/etc.
When it comes to understanding true sorrows and pains of others;
the soul and heart understands.{{{ }}}

It was all beyond awful.
There really are no words for it all.
However this is YTA's thread so my woes need not be mentioned more here.
I just wanted YTA to know that I do feel deeply for his losses and sorrows.
