I do believe there is a balance of quality over mass consumption though, difference being is the "mass" normally is told what beauty is the individual with taste decides for themselves

#ScoprioVenus here as well, when I like something..I like it and the world can burn down if "they" don't like it.

Think it is a function of Scorpio Mars and a wee bit of Neptune

I rarely go for the what is popular.
I make my own choices as to what I consider beauty.
Beautiful and beauty are not automatically the same things.
Beautiful can indeed be awful and ugly be full of beauty.
I think any sign can appreciate beauty.
And of course not everyone has the same view.
I find beauty in so many things in so many ways.
Sun Scorpio
Mercury/Venus/Saturn/in Scorpio

Moon Aqua/Mars in Aqua

Jupiter/Uranus/True Node/Chiron/Asc in Capricorn

Neptune in Libra

Pluto in Leo

Ahhh, beauty

I was once a contrary creature that would be appreciative of the strange and different, simply because it was so. I would reject the "cool" & have disdain for the commercially beautiful. Then i turned twenty something and began to get out of my own way and experience people and things before casting my judgments and seeing beauty under the pretenses i had built up.

Beauty can be so simple, yet so deeply personal and complex. It is awesome to read about what others find beautiful. As simple as a hemline and as complicated as a feeling that exists which no words can describe.

Right now, pregnant women to me are crazy beautiful. Tomorrow it might be orchids.

i don't agree with all of the things he says, especially graffiti, but it's a very interesting and thought provoking documentary and the point made about not maintaining old sheds made me think of it: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/why-beauty-matters/

I personally think that rust and buildings that are falling apart are absolutely beautiful. Just because something's broken doesn't mean that it's not beautiful still. to quote Henry Miller: "I have always looked upon decay as being just as wonderful and rich an expression of life as growth."

(To me that's such a venus in pisces thing to say, and even though he wasn't one himself he did have a crazy affair with one of the most famous venus in pisce...anais nin)

uh - wasn't talking about my idea of beauty in that post - I was talking about the world at large~

~just to be clear, in case I wasn't.

the world tears down the old and "ugly" eyesores - to make way for the new and "beautiful" it restores that which was made "beautifully" and neglects that which was commonplace then and unnecessary now because it is considered a commodity that can be replaced by something more functional and more "beautiful" by their standards.

That is not my line of thought exactly - that is just the way things work, and have worked forever...

As I said earlier... I agree most with Hera - beauty is indeed, in the eye of the beholder.
<3

(so to be clear on that.) ^^;

As a Saggie sun, I tend to either love or hate things, and find beauty where most won't see it as it is not mainstream.

Can adore a 300 pd woman, and despise a 98 pd one, one to me is real, the other quite fake and merely getting by on their appearance.

Man or Woman, they annoy me to no end.

The genesis of this is my dear friend, a Libra, whom many find attractive (but I find it comical) is very much into beauty and pleasure yet..lacks an aesthetic.

What is beauty? Which signs appreciate beauty? And is beauty physical or artistic or is it found in the common?

Lol. That is exactly how i feel about gorgeous looking guys that look like they're cut out of magazines. My impression is always how they are lacking in something, and they are very boring...so readable in just one meeting, you feel there is no need for the next.

I've used to analyze tht it may be due to their circumstances - they have girls throwing themselves at them, opportunities come easier, that feeling and life experiences they did not have to put much effort into anything.

Last week, my sis commented that her boss has a six pack, solid body which he happily demostrated that as a product of his discipline and persistance - that discipline comes from him waking up 6am daily to exrcise before working at 10am for the past 8 years.. That made me think that beauty is a result of habits and reflection of self esteem, self-love not just egotism. Anyway, it is not difficult to be physically attractive - all it takes is a clear skin, good grooming and healthy lifestyle - skin care regimen is a routine as is regular exercise a discipline.

They tend to be professionals at that and have an eye for beauty in general. Their words are more beautiful than anything. I like my Libra NN. Comes in handy, but I don't think lends much to my artistic abllity. I give that to my earth signs.

I would have said no, as a Libra I do create beauty; but as I am double Taurus otherwise, you may be correct.

I think this is true of Sagi suns-my ex is a Sag who loved me when I was 300 lbs as well as when I lost the weight.

I am attracted to what moves me. It differs at times. I also have a tendency to find at least one thing that is attractive about a person and expand it.

It was a bit weird for me for a while when I had a purely physical reaction to one of my best friends. He's like my big brother. I was reading something he wrote about smooth talking a girl and got embarrassed. It was tame to stuff I've read/seen/done before, but it was like smut. Oivay.

When I watch my bf move, he is like a dancer. It is very calming to see and he is a very beautiful man. He's a Sag Sun/Moon with a Cap Venus, Virgo Mars. I'm a Gem Sun with a Taurus Moon, Cancer Venus, and Cap Mars. We share a Cap Ascendant.
