Words for the day:Spectrophobia: the fear of mirrors Btw, this seems especially scary to kids, and these girls did a story about evil (the classic Bloody Mary that I heard about as a child, too) that comes out of the mirror: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmSPSPiyawo x Eisoptropophobia: the fear of your own reflection Defenestraphobia: fear of windows. And btw, don't know what it is about Prague, but they have a history of defenestration. IP: Logged |

My great grandma, who lived a pretty traditional life for my people, often said not to mess around with the other side. If they come to you, then be respectful, but not to look for them, 'cause you never know which spirits might attach themselves to you. IP: Logged |

Well, that's not scary.I mean, I don't want to die - there's an awful lot going on here at the moment that I think would suffer with my sudden absence - but I've had a quick visit there and it was home.

Your grandma was wise. quote: Well, that's not scary.I mean, I don't want to die - there's an awful lot going on here at the moment that I think would suffer with my sudden absence - but I've had a quick visit there and it was home.
Then don't look over your shoulder "quickly" ...or who knows - you could brake your neck and... see death. I tried couple of times and death wasn't there, though - it got me dizzy.

Yes, I'm aware of the dangers. That's why I'm never going to evoke ghosts. ------------------ Do you have some chocolate? IP: Logged |

I remember once I was walking home at early dusk while it was both really cloudy & windy (very strong!), and I had the strangest feeling that there were a bunch of spirits in the wind who were traveling and did some calculations in my head and realized it was about time for the fairies to move according to folklore. I had the strangest feeling that if I looked "just right" I could even see them above me, but also that it might not be the wisest thing as they in turn would be able to see me as well. I didn't sense that these spirits were evil, but I did sense they could be unfriendly and in a foul mood. It was a haunting feeling and I recall how much better I felt when I finally made it home to get inside. IP: Logged |

Always been fascinated by the paranormal, and to try to understand the unknown. For some reason I had several paranormal encounters back when I lived in the Southwest. Haven't had any where I currently live though, wonder why that is? IP: Logged |

Mabe there's a certain energy tied into that area of Prague that has so many of those occurences. I think when you have an accumulated tragedy in a location, over time it just permeates the area. That is really unusual though, aweful way to die IP: Logged |

I used to be more intuitive when I was younger. I've lost some of it, but I still sense places where there is negative energy.I've had several incidents: 1) When I was 12 we were visiting Tampa and we were driving over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and I swear I had the most ominous feeling as we drove over. Once wikipedia was available I realize there were lots of tragic events on that bridge. 2) I was visited a docked ex Canadian Navy destroy HMCS Haida. I was part of a tour and somehow I ended up getting separated from the rest of the group. I stumbled apon the ships surgeon office and I was drawn to the examination bed then I got this feeling and I ran as fast as I could to the other side of the ship. I asked the guide and he said a sailor died after complications of a surgery. 3) More recently, two summers ago I had a summer jobs as a night auditor and I was training at the hotel. I already had a bad feeling about the building, but the job paid well so I went ahead anyway. At 2:00pm I was given the master key to look at the different types of rooms. There were housekeepers everywhere so I wasn't alone. At 2:30pm all housekeepers had left and I found myself alone, but I was still checking out the rooms. At 3pm I got this feeling of don't think just run and get h*ll out of here. I ran to the fire exit and ran down 12 floors. A month later I had a conversation with a coworker and I learned that there was fire at approx. 3pm almost exactly the spot I was, 15 people died in the fire. IP: Logged |

There are areas called "window areas" that are hot spots for paranormal activity. Interesting enough, for UFOs as much as ghosts, spontaneous combustion, rain of stones, poltergeists, etc. There are many theories for it, and as these areas are undeniable even some skeptics trying to explain it away have come up with their own theory about such areas (typically geological in nature, often includes either magnetism that affects the brain or some kind of released underground or swamp gas that does the same). Rumor has it that there are some spots that planes have learned not to fly over because things get freaky when they do. It's not like anyone had a meeting over it, but after enough stories of craziness (sometimes Bermuda Triangle crazy) happened then pilots began taking alternative routes and the habits were such now the "aerial window areas" don't even get flown over much anymore.
