So I only have one cigarette left and after that one, I quit.

I am not sure I'm ready, but the intention is there.

Send me some supportive energy, pretty please! ~

You can do it!

You will feel much better after my dad smoked for 12 years and I grew up with second hand smoke, he quit about 2 years ago and he doesn't miss it (neither do I). Your skin will look better and you will feel better trust me

Keep strong, Doux Reve! It usually takes four or five times before you truly quit, so don't feel bad if you falter! To be weak is to be strong!

Thanks, guys!

It's not the first time I'm gonna "quit"..
Tried several times already, but boy, it's not easy.

I'm motivated though!

Put it on your leg honey. Any time you smoke, you'll get a current treatment. I think this should keep you motivated.

You could check out electronic cigarettes.

The basic strategy seems to be, gradually replacing the nicotine with water, so you're just inhaling some steam. At that point, if you're still smoking the e-cigarette (with just water vapor), you're smoking out of habit, and not from an addiction to the chemicals.

I have two coworkers that are quitting by using electronic cigarettes. One guy already got down to 0% nicotine, and after a few weeks of puffing water vapor, he was able to quit completely. He said that he's tried a few other methods to quit before, and the e-cigarette is the only one that has actually worked.

Good luck, aquaguy!

Thanks for the tip, Blackbird.
I will think about it.

I'm already feeling an urge to smoke again.

It's sooo hard to quit.

Damn it.
I am doubting my will power!
Grrr.

Good luck Doux Reve, it's not easy, as it is a thing to do with the hnds or 'release stress'...but u can do it.

Blackbird, am not sure how it is there, but France was thinking of banning e-cigarettes...i am in a country atm where it is totally banned...which is a shame, as they do work and these same governments weren't that keen on banning real cigarettes themselves....actually u can still find cigarettes but ecigarettes are banned...go figure.

Anyway DR, save the money you don't spend on cigarettes, and at the end of each week, do something nice for yourself like circulating in places u like to hang out in, who knows who you may find there if you keep it up

I don't trust inhaling those chemicals they put in e-cigs to be honest. I tried myself and felt like I was inhaling cancer. I have not studied them personally, nor read studies about them. I simply threw mine away and went cold turkey. From my point of view, having quit 4 times cold turkey is the best way.

Doux, have you heard of Allen Carr's book? http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Carrs-Easyway-Stop-Smoking/dp/0615482155

I know someone who kicked the habit for good by extinguishing a few butts in a small, lidded container filled with a little bit of water.

Anytime he'd get a craving, he'd open it up an take a big whiff - he says it killed his craving every time.

Thanks a lot for the ideas, guys.

Hera, no I haven't read that book and don't intend to read it.
I think I can do without.

All I need is to focus on myself and my health, and my determination to quit.

I'm not saying it's gonna work initially, but eventually, it will, I am sure.

Maybe now is not the right time though.
I can feel my body / mind craving it too much.

Hmm.. I need to relax and just stop thinking about it.

supposedly, going to a sauna for 3 days in order to quit smoking makes it easier since you sweat all of the nicotine out.

meditation could also work.

wishing you the best of luck

Oh, I agree with this! I did this for my 2nd time quitting and was the best quit ever. Though I probably went overboard exercising for 4 hours/day, 7 days/week.. The only time I didn't gain weight while quitting. Somehow due to lack of time and energy, I wasn't able to do it the 3rd and 4th time around, not consistently. But it's a good way to get your mind off from missing the cig.
You'll also get more energy and breathe better so the exercise will only increase that.

Sending you good luck Doux.

I've tried a million times yet i'll have smoking cravings beyond recognition. It's so hard but i'm sure you'll be able to do it,you've already won half of the battle because you've told yourself your intending to quit.

Hugs

Instead of a cigarette, reward yourself with an orgasm. Soon cigarettes will lose all appeal.
