I see people's posts and I wonder about their lives. If anyone wants to share about their life, please do.
You can make it how you want to do it, the details you feel comfortable with saying.

Mm, not sure where to start.

27/f

Born in Cali, raised a Southern belle, lived on West Coast since 2005.

I'm tomboyish, but also still girly. Idk, I think I hide my girly side as a reflex. Oldest of six. Been taking care of siblings as babies since I was 8.

Grew up getting beat up a lot and told I was fugly when compared to my sisters most of my youth lol. When I hit puberty, the idea that I was physically attractive was a foreign concept to me.

Was married in 2006 when I was 20, only after a year of dating. Divorced last year because he was physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive. I was going to stay because I was mortified at the idea of everyone knowing my personal business and having to explain my situation to my parents. Ah, he ripped my rep to shreds. I still pay to this day for the trouble from our marriage. I left him because my daughter asked me as a toddler if I was okay after daddy kept hitting me.

I am passive until I am ****** off or I think someone is trying to get me to believe/do something stupid. I don't back down or shy from a fight. If I think I'm right, I will stick to my guns.

Currently full time working and full time student.

Any questions, not afraid to answer .

Alright AA

To make it short, came up in a house w/no love, you did things for yourself

No filters, no consequences, no boundaries.

Took up powerlifting after getting in a fight and losing badly, found out God provides in this world.

Been in so many situations the avg mind would boggle over them.

Engaged thrice, loved them all and still do.

Came to realize there it beauty in rhythm, also realized what I'm in this world for is to offer ideas.

Thing is AA..my mind is ALWAYS tuned.

What most folks think of as "dead time" I'm reviewing Romanian or Mandarin.

Also realized that talking with me is a bit like a Viking Prayer, I'm all in, I believe what I'm speaking about...but am open to new ideas.

Sort of, took me 20 yrs, now I understand what true, no BS intensity means. This explains soo much. It's also Pluto/Scorpio magnetism..say what you think w/o reservation and in this world of boring people one becomes the focus of unwanted attention.

I learn things bc my mind won't stfu lol.

Nervous energy? Idk. I pick up more things as I go along because my mind is dancing around different things.

Currently studying French and German for school. My boss wants me to learn Mandarin so I can converse with the Chinese clientele more easier. Know a fair amount of Spanish(3 years in high school and was in Spanish Honor Society) and Russian. Need to brush up on both languages.

I have trouble falling asleep unless engaged in an activity.

French is not particularly fascinating to me, but it is the mother tongue of my bf. I would like to speak with him on his turf and get bowled over by his mastery of words. That in itself is enough is a mental workout because he is very knowledgeable and can speak at length on many subjects.

In Mandarin the words are the same, it is intonation that shows intent.

In French (and Spanish) the words have intonations AND inflection built in.

My Spanish is "Mexican" Spanish and non Mexicans tell me this constantly as for them it is proper it just sounds bad to them.

Isn't it "Mexican" Spanish and "Spanish" Spanish same difference between British English and American English?

I do not like speaking with native Mexican/Spanish speakers because I feel stupid most of the time. I've randomly spoken with a Mexican friend over cam a few times to practice. My reading and writing are decent though.

"Mexican" Spanish sounds uncouth to other Spanish speakers.

The way the tongue rolls or lack thereof is the main reason why.

For example "Allante'!" the two l's are supposed to be rolled."Awlllanteee"

I'm not a linguistic professor or anything of the sort, just what I've noticed.

Other thing is take Mandarin, native speakers drop the formality

"Nin hao ma"?

Reply is:

"Wo hen hao shi zhi nine"

Becomes "wen hao"

I can't roll my tongue.

::doomed::

lol.

How long have you been studying Mandarin? I've yet to really open up the books I have to start the subject, though I'm exposed to Mandarin on a daily basis because of work.

*Blush*

I bike commute and have a chipod, the local thrift store had "..getting by in Mandarin.."

Tapes that I made into MP3's for the chipod, listened to them constantly.

It's actually quite an easy language to learn the basics of..4 intonations, pingye is the English version of it with English characters/letters.

Hen hao Khan!
