But I'm guessing that's more of your scene, more power to you, and you don't to justify why you like certain things lol

I like everything so I don't necessarily have a scene it's more like everything is my scene. I love road trips with my friends too. I guess to summarize everything up as long as there are people around that I like and enjoy being around I could care less about the environment.

too intimate for me.

At least at clubs you kinda get lost in the sea of people.

Thing about a club is it IS impersonal

Clubs boil down to how you look and how you can dance, which is fine can do both it's more

How do you get to know someone in that environment?

Unless it's not about actually meeting, it's more about how you look and how you move.

LOL I stopped sitting at cafes too.. just as awkward as bars.

Especially baristas would get all friendly.
I'm just waiting for my train drinking my coffee trying to escape with my music..

I remember last month she asked my how to pronounce my name.. and I was like why?
And she was like Oh I saw you here a few times and saw your name on your card etc....
Oh yeah... and than she walked away..
the poor barista was like OMG what I just get myself into...

One day another barista was like I like your shoes and I'm like thanks I got them in the 9th grade.... -___-

LOL

I'm so awkward with strangers who randomly approach me out of nowhere..
Unless our eyes meet and I'm like prepared.. and interested than I can hold a conversation.

Maybe if we met at a party and I was drunk...
I get really crazy when I'm drunk.

I'm like the sunglass with hood over head person when I'm trying to get through the day.
I'm just a typical city dweller I guess.

It makes sense women AND men are this way at bars (if s/he's hot then they can be forgiven anything) given what people WANT to believe mixed with alcohol...especially as some women drink to give themselves permission to have sex (just like some guys drink to give themselves permission to be violent or touchy-feely, whichever side of themselves they're too scared to show while sober).

Offhand I can't recall ever liking a bar (though I might like the music or show). All the people were so fake and I wasn't surprised so many kept hooking up with the wrong people because no one was honest about who they were nor able to see through all the facades (but then alcohol would make that difficult). And so many people are dysfunctional at bars, I quickly tired of them, and I've never gone to a bar looking for romance, that seems one of the dumbest things one can do, plus the prices were often absurd. The only reason I'd go by myself was to hear a band or music but after awhile I decided it just wasn't worth it (and a few experiences made me resolve to avoid the Friday/Saturday crowds where prices were not only higher but so many more people showed up unable to handle their drugs of choice and swerving over the roads in addition to being especially bothersome to me).

I don't mean to include pubs with bars, btw, but since drinking has never been my thing (at least not since it was legal for me to do so) I'm not inclined to go to those either. Ironically I'd be a lot more open to the idea of getting to know someone at a pub that could lead to romance though the few I've been in were more for regulars who knew each other anyway and weren't trying to hook up with anyone.

hehe I don't know?
Maybe if you can impress me.
I usually am taken in by funny-witty people.

Figures, I have a lot of cap-aqua friends

You're not really a stranger so if we met in real life I wouldn't be all aloof around you because I'm familiar with you, right?
I met most of my friends at uni or by forced interactions (friends of friends), networking too.

True Story Kero:

Was going to college and stopped by this coffee house run by Germans

Fine, kept quiet, never said a damn thing actually

Grandma show up, 3 generations, and I'm having a coffee and studying note cards

"Uhm yeah, we are going to have a Bukkake party do you want to tag along"?

AGM was like "you will scare him off!!!"

Cowner (A German) Said in that funny German accent, with a smile "no we won't scare him off!!!"

The young lady who said that is the one who intro'd me to her current BF..all I wanted was a coffee!

Oh why do I wear I look to look inconspicuous when I'm out and about.

So I don't attract attention which is either positive and very negative so I just go incognito...

I've gotten in a lot of altercations in the past.. LOL I never even started them -____-'
Now that I'm an adult I have to just try and stay cool and ignore people the best I can.

LOL padre..
Bukakke LOL.
Yeah I'm really funny and boisterous around my friends too.

Awww I love old people... especially grandmas
I use to take the express train to my internship and would occasionally have a grandmother asking me about something and would end up having a conversation about her trip and her family etc.

Kero, not sure of what placement put me into those situations...it is just not uncommon.

Will say that the co-owner wound up with cancer..healthy older lady at that..simply HAD to ask her how it was with her.

She smiled, patted my shoulder, and said she was fine

Hate that tbh

* here was the deal,it revolved around collagen

Odette is cool as the other side of the pillow, sometimes worry that maybe she is being so hard (for her own reasons) that she forgets that life is meant to be enjoyed, not a battlefield or constant struggle

Luv ya Odette...now don't kick my butt

I'm glad I never liked bars or clubs, or people who hung out at those joints. I generally never bothered approaching anybody. I had enough interested parties such that pickup lines and buying drinks wasn't necessary. It seems more trouble than it's worth.

Haha you all make it sound pretty difficult.

I guess I do avoid going out to random places but if you force it then I get along with everyone, unless someone really ****** me off. Then I'll make a point at ******* them off, which is childish, I know! I sometimes think it might be better to be a man, just punch someone in the nose for disrespecting me and walk away. Oh well.

I've had people approach me to say "Can I buy you a drink." and I'm just really straight forward. "I'm sorry, no."

But then again, I wouldn't say "yes" to anyone. Haha

I'd say that looks definitely do count but the first guy in the video is dressed really casual but not unattractive. That would make me feel like having a comfortable conversation, that they aren't trying SO hard. A guy in a suit would make me feel like being more interesting, instead of just chatty.

I guess men have to decide what type of woman they are looking for and want to attract, one that wants to have casual chatty conversations or one that wants to feel more "on". That's just my very small and probably pointless opinion. =)

If I got lost and found myself in a bar for whatever reason ... and a guy offered to buy me a drink.. I would be like:

' I'm not a big drinker.. but you can buy me something else.. like chips or something. There's a deli across the road if you want to buy me a small pack of Doritos. Thank you '

PS... 'And also.. if you have time.. maybe pick up a vacuum cleaner from the warehouse next door' ... *ping* Aqua!

Odette,

In my book, the trump card is not only buying the vacuum cleaner, but also offering to clean your home.

Funny story Odette, there are Four things I carry when I bike commute:

-Chocolate
-Tampons
-Smoked almonds
-Extra knife, cannot stand the thought of people around me do not have a blade.

Shoot...I'll give you a blade/chocolate/Tampon just by me a drink in response!
