Warm weather climate people may not understand it but

When it is cold, dreary, rainy, I shut it down

Anyone else do this?

I feel like it is a waste of $$$ to even bother to go out in the winter.

It's like a blizzard out where I live! I hate it I'd rather have rain than snow it's awful and dangerous. We get the snow every year yet people still act like to their first time driving in it. So irritating.

I hate when they're not four-wheel and they slide from braking too late, Yarfee.

Then you have to move forward into the cross-lane to avoid being rear-ended.

I live in Vegas and the weather is always weird.

I managed to catch a cold and hold onto it for the past week. I've sneezed a few times and it's made my nose bleed lol.

It was raining heavily in November and there were a few windstorms blowing stuff down and breaking things. Now, we have super cold days that are like in the 20s and some decent days like today, which are good weather.

I keep falling asleep. So sick x__x.

WELL I have seasonal affective disorder, so yeah, the temptation to shut down is extremely strong...but I'm too proud to let it get to me, so I try to stay as active as I normally am. Though...occasionally it is good to lie in bed all day and lament life in such a cold, wintery area...

I'm in Australia.

I should probably zip it because anything I say will sound like I'm 'rubbing it in' lmao

I'm not a fan of winter, but part of me does miss the white Christmases I had in Europe, when I was young.

Snow is ok. I can deal with snow. What sucks is cold and rain.

It's been a super cold December so far and we are about to get some more Arctic Air. It would be nice to hibernate. I understand why bears do it.

I don't like winter. The cold makes me lazy and more unproductive than usual . It doesn't even have to rain, lol. It just has to be cold.

I love when a new snowfall transforms everything into a pristine, winter wonderland, but I wish it wasn't so cold--the Water in my Fish Bowl freezes.

quote:

Fish are ectothermic, and so, by definition, cannot hibernate because they cannot actively down-regulate their body temperature or their metabolic rate. However, they can experience decreased metabolic rates associated with colder environments and/or low oxygen availability (hypoxia) and can experience dormancy.

I live up in the Mtns and snow here is a different situation

Quite, calm, peaceful, when the snow falls and you walk in it whilst it falls the connection with nature is undeniable.

However, with little going on socially, this is the time of year I stay home and bang out push ups and crunches

Our area is closed down today with a snow -ice - wind - below zero emergency.

I plan for these days and have bread in the oven & a 2000 piece jig saw puzzle of decorated Christmas trees to work on during the shut down

Baby-making time!

More people are born in July/August/September (more than any other months) for this very reason. All that sexing their parents did during *this* time of year.

Cold sucks complete a$$. So I relate to you Padre. Oddly enough, I've still been going out! Previously, this was not happening during the Winter w/ me.

Schwing!

I go out but less often, do so to keep in contact with some good friends
