I guess my point was lost on you. I'm saying Astrology should be included.

Thinking that far-away planetary bodies have control over human behavior could be deemed irrational and fit right along with the rants of the author.

It was included. Along with many other things. But this isnt really about all of that, but rather something far deeper.

The whole of it is still lost on you....

conveniently.

I agree. The planets have no control over our behavior, charts and transits describe energies in play...but they compel/control nothing. The popular belief that they do definitely belongs in the category T is talking about!

Spirituality per se is not the issue but the commercialization, irrational adherence to formulae laid out, and the manipulation of the credulous by unevolved oversized egos, yes definitely a hazard to mental health.

What kind of energies are in play, Cat? There are only a few types of energy; perhaps you can describe which one is in play with Astrology.

Cat, yes!

& this is not a case for or against or to try to disprove astrology Randall. I think you probably just skimmed the first article only.

One can only play the "I'm completely clueless." game, avoiding reality, for so long before it does major damage to them as well as to the people around them.

Not totally related, but am I losing my mind or are the words 'spiritual' and 'spirituality' being tossed around a lot lately to justify/negate bad behavior?

Have I mentioned how I dislike not being able to form ones own thoughts and deferring to someone else's article..in toto?

Is it so very difficult, T, to speak ones own mind in ones own words or are others writings the only outlet one may attain for ones positions.

If that is the paradigm, well hell's bells, please allow me to cut and paste the KJV in toto as well..that way one does not have to debate or discuss "me" one can then have your perfect lil strawman to attack..Genius!

there is a basic human right to..wait for it..Freedom of Conscience

Bella, Yes, I have noticed the same for awhile now, here an in other spiritual circles over the years. There is an excuse - usually more than one, for absolutely every bad behavior out there. A friend of mine here, much older and wiser told me a long time ago exactly what I have been seeing with many of the people in these communities now. At the time I hadnt quite realized how spot on he was. I can't go into detail because certain people here will jump on me and attack.

______________

Padre, I hope I havent already said this to you, but most of your posts don't make sense to me. It's your writing style I suppose.

No you havent. I would hold back on reading my threads then. It's not that i "can't" or havent formed my own thoughts and opinions, but I have learned that it's best to share them sparingly on LL. For reasons that might be obvious.

btw, besides being the name of Dorothy's dog in the Wizard of OZ, I have no idea what "toto" means.

Youve made yourself clear here. Sounds like a response I would expect from someone who is good buddies with a particular person here and has been convinced of things and motives that arent true. Sorry.

Please don't. That would be completely off topic and not fit in this thread.

By golly!! Youve got it! Youve figured out the real reason for this thread.

Um no. You can think whatever you want but please don't come in here anymore and waste my time. If you can get and stay on topic, fine.

If my lack of sharing my own personal insight annoys you then don't read because I certainly won't be doing that often here and setting myself up for attack. That lesson's been learned.
