I know that's very impersonal and not in the spirit of LL, but unfortunately every time a member is nominated as a mod it always goes..awry.

And sometimes people can get blinded by their personal ties to other members on LL and off LL that they tend to forget their duties.

No, I actually think this a great idea! the problem is that it gets too personal and proper judgments can't be made.
