I'll add some clarity: he needs a liver, a kidney, a splenectomy (as in spleen removal), and then bone marrow. That's three transplants.

This is every parent's worst nightmare. I'm so sorry your family is going through this. I hope Mitchell is not in pain.

Please keep us posted on his condition.

For those who don't know, YTA's son Mitchell is a phenomenal young man: many of us here have been privileged to see him in concert playing the violin and piano. He's a freshman at Harvard and a great, great kid.
