Pixie,

About the Anime you linked too?

The clip is blocked for me in my country, so I used this link….
http://youtu.be/-nVt1EDBb4s
Moka Transforms…!

I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the fact that it’s actually called:

Rosario+Vampire…. :D Symbolically that’s writable as the following…
^Good+Evil = Beauty+Power? (What She Transforms into)??

**And note that I’m basing concepts of Good and Evil on what I’d call very cultural/classical Archetypes of how Good and Evil is often defined… (Gods... NOW thats a Can of Worms to be sure...)

I have never even heard of/seen that Anime btw… Totally going to start watching it... As it seems the Archetypes of Tsukune Aono & Moka Akashiya are having fun… [Laughs]

Looks a lot more interesting than Love Hina anyways… :D

(Giggle) I Love All the Character Descriptions
^^And I'm not surprised that even The Miss Van Rosencroft “Archetype” Pops up in it also...

in anime where it gets to the point that Rosario in "good mode" is almost simpering in her submissiveness who shows more skin and boobs when she transforms into "evil" and her common phrase in evil form is "know your place" as she kicks both male and female villains aside (I swear the succubus in that series was shown a bit less sexy after she joined the heroes as at first I didn't recognize her after that!). Indeed, here's the transformation (her boobs literally get larger!):

Originally, I took this to be a relic of stories of evil seductresses (tales of Eve and of Delilah who took down Samson being ones I've heard referenced as a warning often enough even by those who aren't Christian, but Morgan Le Fay is another) played a part in shaping our consciousness this way, but that shouldn't affect Japan (and that anime I just showed the transformation in), not in that specific way anyway, and of course those myths and legends could've been inspired by something older, something that this thread is about. (Tales of fanged vaginas seem to be found all over the world as well, often with how those vagina teeth were broken, even among the supposedly fearless Aztec warriors!))

^^Oh I definitely have something to say about that... wrote a draft about some of those concepts yesterday before I read your post, So maybe later... I want to think on all of this more also [Nods]

@teasal

(In relation to Pixie's previous post about the Skinheads and so forth)

might be back to respond to the above later, because I want to respond to Pixie above - I think. I need to read the whole post, rather than skim. You reminded me of something about myself.

^^Really curious as to your thoughts, OR on anything else you might want to add in regards to the discussion in this thread. Please feel free to chime in... this is not a private conversation between Pixie and I, it just so happens that we seem to be the only ones adding posts currently lol... :)

Yes, it's the exact same scene. (Wish YT would say which vids are blocked in what countries.)

In case the point gets lost, notice that as she turns "evil" (though in a way that she doesn't become the villain, it's a side of her that is dangerous to herself and everyone around her which is why she was given an enchanted rosary which was never to be removed even for a moment) her hips become rounder and her boobs bigger...and shows more cleavage. (In addition, it focuses on her crotch as the monster describes her "overwhelming energy.") Which matches what that book on how to do comic book art said for the west. To be beautiful is to be good as long as one is humble and submissive about it, but to claim that power (with or without any other type of power) is a completely different thing, and goes from good girl to bad girl.

And it's not just comic art and the like. Buffy and Faith were that way, Faith uses her sexuality and beauty while Buffy is just attractive, but as Faith is evil, then she has to show more skin and exude more sexuality, but when Faith reforms, then she avoids her sexuality more and cringes from it (even when she's having sex, there's something sad about it to her rather than enjoying herself as she did before). And that's from Joss Whedon, which I consider significant (though he was inspired a lot by comics).

ETA: I know of more girls who played bad girls from fiction as kids because that was how to be the most sexy (even as little girls they might do this, though they may word it as "the most attractive" or some such). The point being that training how to think this way starts very early. And makes me wonder how different the world would be if that wasn't indirectly taught.

@Pixie:

Yes… I have noticed the same Motif popping up in Buffy the Vampire Slayer just the same… It’s incredibly Odd isn’t it??? Is there a Method to the Madness in how these Archetypes are layered/played out…

(Giggle)

Is it True… is Buffy's Power Rooted in Darkness (“Evil”)??

I have been watching some of Rosario+Vampire….

(And I suggest people should watch that Anime if this thread holds any meaning to you!)

It’s interesting in that it falls right into the same kind of realms as “Sucker Punch”… by that I mean….

I expect peoples initial reaction to it would be one of It’s nothing but the Sexual Exploitation of Women (Elements of the Feminist Camp, or just Women finding it Offensive) & yet because it’s Simultaneously about Empowered (“Evil”) Women Destroying Men (and sometimes Women too) in positions of Power… The Anime would likely trigger a response from (The Anti-Feminist Movement) just the same.

^It’s not really about either, (And I also really love that it’s often Transcending the concepts of Good & Evil by replacing such with “Necessary Actions”) though I’ll explain why later… and YES, it’s very much linked to what’s going on in this thread… So much so that I almost feel like someone is playing a Synchronistic Cosmic Joke on me… (I blame Pixie lol…) not only in regards to the concepts being explored here…. But my “Actual Life” (If you place my Male-Archetypal-Self into the Character of Tsukune) and the experiences I have had with how both Women & Men tend to treat me LOL!

And the Anime is completely Self-Aware! The show is almost as if it’s a Parody in of itself, for it very distinctly Meshes and Toys with the various Archetypes we have become so familiar with in other Animes and in the realms of Fantasy… And betwixt the Parody and Humour… it’s layered with absolute truth in relation to the concepts of Beauty+Power!

It’s also just incredibly funny… (To me Anyhow), and while it may appear to be “crude” in not only how they deal with certain scenes in an over the top way… But when you later realize WHAT they are doing (as in the Parody).. it’s only then that you can begin to really recognize the Sheer Genius of it, with it's Mix and Match motif of Yin & Yang!
