Ahh… Samhain brings out the worst in me to be sure… ((and best) Giggle)(I felt like sharing an anecdote of mine in regards to what I was talking about here… (Women with Real Political / Corporate Power) and it ended up turning into an essay/short story… so what the hell, I’ll give this post it’s own thread considering the length! (5.8k Words)) A cup of this may help with digesting that much text in one sitting… Also, for your viewing pleasure, a video I posted in my previous thread which is especially relevant considering what I have to say in this essay; (Documentary – Why Beauty Matters!) http://vimeo.com/112655231 Beauty + Power = Evil…!? (Tales of a Corporate Misadventure); Grimoires of a Geisha -o- <(^.^<); by Lei_Kuei; When I was in my early 20’s I used to work with a Girl (Celine) who was absolutely stunningly beautiful, with natural Super Model level beauty… and with an Intellect that most people found unbelievably intimidating… and she used to go out of her way to show how smart she was by talking herself up a lot, and by utterly destroying people in arguments, especially men. (Understand though… Celine & I were the best of friends and joined a Software Company as a coding/hacker duo, so none of that was a problem for me… and if anything we were really each others Shadow in a lot of ways which was interesting enough, though I was definitely the quite one (Giggle)) Anyway’s… Celine had the social charms of a Rhino in a China shop when it came to “Office Corporate / Etiquette”, but at the same time she was a “Laura Roslin” in the making… Though currently she was young, naive and extremely idealistic (same for me) Yet even back then, in her eyes she was smart enough to be the C.E.O of the Software Company we worked for… and she really was, NO question about that. Yet there wasn’t a HOPE in hell of this happening… I’d sooner have landed that position before she would even get near my corner office, because even though her Communication skills were extremely high, this girl had absolutely no-tact/guile in dealing with the Corporate Environment… (In my case, I was almost ALL guile, with not much of a drive for power/status… (ofc, this whole situation was quite complex from a Jungian/Freudian POV, because in the Shadow games between Celine and I… we had reassigned each others energy… (I’ll talk about this later) and this was causing us both a lot of problems… but hey, we were kids… and life is about learning these kinds of lessons!) Celine completely screwed herself in several ways from moving up the very corporate ladder that I couldn’t have cared less about; But firstly be fair… She was Young, Raised as a Genius Prodigy… and filled to the brim with Idealism and her sights set on fixing all the worlds problems! (The kind of woman who may very well become President of the One World Government… though first came the big system shock…!) Because if it wasn’t bad enough in that her Intimidating Intellect was becoming a problem for her in how she expressed herself in the Office… (Yet she couldn’t keep her mouth shut or stop helping people, Hermione Granger x 100… if something was wrong with someone’s work… Immediately Celine to the rescue…! Followed by a “Gods… I’m so brilliant” and expecting a reward….) Layer on top of this… (the irony) Celine never wore any kind of makeup, and only dressed casually… Jeans, T-Shirt, Long-sleeved Top, Sneakers, and you could tell the women scorned her because of how beautiful she was without even trying… (She had the same problems in college) Next apply to this situation the added bonus of her telling the men who came onto her that she was Gay… Yea…… It didn’t take long for her to be almost completely ostracized by the Management (who were almost ALL men, but Women in Power treated her even worse!) at near intolerable levels… And the very last thing on Celine’s mind would have been the concept of using her “Femininity” to get ahead, and only ever done so very timidly and it nearly always backfired on her…. as she wanted to be respected for her Intelligence/Personality and yet was met with nothing but stonewalling in gaining any kind of “Status” in this regard… The unfathomable Office Mechanics that both of us “Naïve Geeks” had just stumbled into… it was a train wreck in slow motion… and we used to talk about it constantly, long conversations (day & night) about the dire state of the corporate environment that was our apparent “Destiny”… and how it was nothing like what we expected being the Idealistic kids we were when we joined on promises of saving the world via technology lol… (Don’t even ask…) ^^An Extroverted Lesbian Genius & an Introverted Fem-Male Genius (straight) trying to make sense of a world that we felt we needed to be apart of from a Career POV… yet discovering everything about this environment to be almost backwards; (Though in general that’s how we felt about life most of the time…) Now one aspect that really drove Celine crazy was the Office Secretary… Who was a Blonde Bombshell of a woman and was just alittle older than us… Yet while not exactly a Genius (like in how Celine and I were), but from our POV in how this woman (Sarah) handled the Office environment she was an Absolute Goddess with incredible people skills… She dressed very tastefully, but always sexy… you could say she was a very stereotypical “Hot Secretary” complete with small eye glasses that made her look that much smarter… though we never saw her read anything but glossy mag’s lol… In any case she literally owned the halls of that entire Office Block… For men were falling at her feet with endless flirting and comments as she distributed the morning mail during her cat like meanderings around the hallways of our corporate labyrinth of broken dreams. (Sarah (The Secretary) was a genuinely lovely woman, who was also very much in tune with her own sense of Power and played to her strengths as Celine had tried to do… but was currently failing at…) ^^And I feel that seeing this in action perhaps broke Celine’s heart more than anything else during our time their… Because for the first instance in “The Real World” she saw the TRUE power and potential of her own beauty and it SCARED the crap out of her…! As Celine knew she was way hotter than even that Secretary; but she just decided for herself that she didn’t want to have to be like “that” to succeed in the world she had imagined for herself as the C.E.O of a software company, or World President. Yet now the reality of this dream was smashing under the footsteps of Sarah’s 5 inch heels as they collided sharply with the tiled floor of the lobby and the bare core of Celine’s soul… Then one morning… when Celine and I sat drinking our morning Starbucks and talking about how we were going to find a way to make the piece of software we were working on do all new kinds of amazing s.hit to appease our boss… Sarah rose from her desk and started off on her morning rounds after pleasantly greeting us both… and as we ogled her ass in a tight skirt (Lesbians are fun for instances like that, though Celine was actually bi-sexual :p) she disappeared up the flight of stairs heading to the main office… Then I heard Celine sigh… but it wasn’t her normal kind of “did you see how hot that girl was” Sigh… No, this sigh was filled with a heavy “I need to ask you something Important” type sound… The kind of Sighs men fraking HATE lol!!! Confident as she was, she very bluntly asked me if she should start coming to work dressed like the secretary; I kinda glared at her… (and wondered if she was half fraking mental), then blinked twice as I imagined her falling down the stairs in a pair of heels… (from which her Ego would never recover), and said… you definitely could… :D ….But you would drive all the men insane; Maybe you should just wear a dress or something first before taking it to such an extreme… ^^She was like, “I fu.cking knew you would say that”… as she smiled abit and continued sipping her coffee (….actually it was a Chai-Tea…). Anyhow… we didn’t talk about it thereafter as we finished breakfast and went back to work… and I figured nothing would come of it… The next morning… low and behold Celine turns up wearing a slinky purple kinda “Slip Dress” just above her bare knees and wearing dark lavender leather boots reaching to the tops of her shin’s… and for the first time outside of Celine’s apartment she wore her hair down, which reached half way to the small of her back and was incredibly shiny and fine (as I implied earlier, Celine was born to be a Super Model!)… …Yea, I think I nearly dropped my Starbucks when I saw her swoon in… :D (….Had I stumbled onto the set of a “L’oreal” commercial by mistake… or was she turning up for one somewhere lol?) She still “looked like” Celine of course, she didn’t opt for any makeup or anything, but it was really odd seeing her dressed as such coming to work, though I’d seen her in a lot less on enough occasions to not have a heart attack… or be “distracted by her”… though I feared for the hapless nerds in our Office lol… (Would any work be done today I pondered…? I have got about 5k lines of code to write, give me a fraking break here….!) As Celine approached me in the Lobby, Sarah, who had been sitting reading (a glossy mag :p), raised her head to glare at the “Goddess” who had just walked in the door… (Feminine threat level now at Maximum lol!) And mustering as much bravado as she could, Celine strolled across the lobby floor with just enough measured grace as could be afforded her in those (flat heeled) Leather Boots (which I knew from previous conversations with her when she bought them, how painfully they hurt her feet) while carrying her Laptop Backpack that within it’s depths carried the source code to a program worth more money than what Sarah made in a year x 100; Well… being alittle taken aback by the whole incident, I just smiled at her coyly and respectfully greeted her as I always had, though I could tell she was nervous… even more so than normal, due of course to the contempt she was often treated with by the Company Directors & Managers on a daily basis. Luckily though, the rest of the day at the Office was actually pretty quite and without major incident … None of the Managers were around, and for the most part it was just Celine and I working in the research division and slacking off quite abit to watch clips on Youtube of people deep into Scientology, (and wondering just how many people in our Office Block were closet Scientologists). Though far more interesting to me was seeing Celine wander around the Office as she mimicked the footsteps of Sarah, especially in how others were reacting to her… Men were being kinder to her, holding doors… helping her at the copy machine, striking up conversations masked in veiled flirtations… And you could literally see the gears in their head and pants churning out fantasies of a possible threesome with this Lesbian and their Wife/Girlfriend (Men that previously had nothing but contempt for this “Nerd Girl” who was smarter than ALL of them put together, all except me ofc… because I was even smarter than Celine :p (Well Duh…? Why you think she hung around with me in the first place lol)). Women stopped her in the hallway to comment on her dress and matching boots… gently touched her bare arms and pale white skin as they commented on her flawless beauty that was now revealed for the first time… And during lunch as we sat talking on a sofa, she crossed her legs (she didn’t do this normally) letting her dress ride up abit and turned her body so her thighs faced into the hallway of oncoming passers by… (she was loving it… :D) Celine looked at me and giggled… and I just shook my head and laughed… Raised an eye brow and said: “Heels tomorrow then?” And Celine looking down at her feet for a second to imagine such (she didn’t even own a pair of heels lol), sucked her bottom lip into her mouth and blushed alittle… “I don’t know, maybe…” Then while eating our lunch she scribbled coded notes of equations we were going to run through the program we were writing… and fell back into her default comfort zone… perhaps even forgot for a second she was wearing a dress as she “Geeked it up” with a long monologue about the problems and inefficient use of Flash’s memory capacity for what we were trying to accomplish from a Design POV… And if her Libra Rising Monologue and Scorpionic (Pluto in the First House) tone of voice weren’t hypnotic enough, well any person… man, woman or beast would have been simply entranced in awe at her flowing hair with it’s glorious shine that reflected from the florescent lighting that littered the ceilings of our Corporate Nightmare of artificial light…. A Light so remnant of our aspiration towards success that was now nothing but a flickering dream… a broken bulb of our brightest idea’s for taking over the world caught in a rapturous short circuit. Again, during that same Lunch break, Women ogled her… Stopped to smooth her hair between their fingers, literally wanted to lie down and bed themselves in it if they could lol… Celine’s pale makeup-less faced was blushed red… both with embarrassment and a nervous excitement… for something that had been dormant in her soul was stirring, a world she had been denying herself privy too her whole life was just starting to break through into the “real world”… and it scared the hell out of her…! Her Feminine Power….! That which she had always tried to suppress, and project instead a more Tomboyish personality, though her Tomboy self WAS in many ways her true self… or atleast that which she was comfortably projecting to people… her “comfort zone!”…. Though the next day, and not surprisingly to me… Celine was back in Jeans & Long-sleeves (and tied up hair). She had dipped her toes into the sea of her own femininity… and just as quickly ran back to the shore save for the waves of her Ultimate Nature carry her to a Paradise Island where she ruled as it’s Sun Queen. Thinking back, to the morning when she stood in the mirror to put on that Purple Dress, that when she contemplated wearing it to work… How her soul must have quivered, how painful it was for Celine to very literally let her hair down and if only for a day… to be as womanly as she could, just to sample what she knew was her birth right… P.O.W.E.R! (That somehow got stolen from her!!?) She would never deny, nor was it a hidden desire from Celine (for as long as I had known her)… she wanted Power! She was born to be a C.E.O/Queen and has the Intellect and Mind of Tempered Steel to make this a possibility… She was even born with Natural Goddess Beauty! This Woman could Rule the World if not for a few crippling issues (Nope, nothing to do with her being a Lesbian). Her failure was that she assigned “Physical Beauty” to being the least used asset/weapon at her disposal… out of a sense of wanting to be treated like a “Person” and not an “Object”! (And not to be viewed as Evil, but Ill get to this bigger issue soon) ^^We all want that, to be treated like a person…! So for Celine when she stepped into the corporate scene, she done so projecting her comfortable “Male” self… and shooting for the stars with only her Intellect and got absolutely NO where…! You cannot imagine how much this perplexed Celine… Because at this time in her life she was very much into Feminist Ideology, and ironically clueless (or atleast unwilling to explore) what real Feminine power actually was! Her dreams of taking over the company we joined and ruling as its Iron Lady were completely dashed within weeks of exploring this possibility… It was physically painful to watch… she was totally crushed; the fraking secretary was FAR more powerful than she ever could be… even if Sarah’s IQ was about 100 points lower than Celine’s… Though what really upset her more than the Secretary, more than the crushing defeat that was her Feminist views (now useless) was ofc… ME! Remember what I said at the start, we were each others Shadow…! Where do you think she had placed all her Feminine Power? (The very same power that secured us a job at that company, after she had busted into a Technology Conference on full “Yang” mode and said she knew exactly how to solve a problem a certain Company Director had (our future Boss)… by dangling a Prize in front of him that wasn’t the removal of her underwear… but access to her sealed vault of “Yin-Energy” that she secretly stored… in me lol) As long as I was the “Prize”, and raped from a creativity POV she was fine with this… Because in her mind, that’s what she always assumed would happen to her “Physically”… and I feel perhaps what most if not ALL women believe when it comes to their Feminine Power… that men will rape it… :\ Anyways… the management at the company Absolutely Adored me, both the Men & Women… I was as beautiful looking as Celine, but to call me handsome would not be accurate, “pretty boy” would be acceptable I suppose… but I don’t really identify with it either [Shrugs]… And I had none of the Hermione Granger Riding a Rhino and wrecking face in a China shop when it came to my social charms… as all my efforts were Feminine Charged and completely disempowering to the upper management, unlike Celine’s approach which just fu.cked everything up! How did I do this…? How was I succeeding where Celine failed… because understand clearly, I was anything but what you would associate with a “Apprentice Go Getter” (which is what Celine’s Personality was)… Simple I suppose… Like Celine I was born to rule, to lead… only I don’t care about it (or at least that’s what I love to tell myself so I don’t feel like Im failing lol… ) so I instead became an Artist, and I discovered that Power & Beauty are completely interchangeable, and while that’s no great revelation… It’s extremely important to understand when you want to become “Powerful”…. I feel that Women have been led to believe the following; That while Beauty = Power, it also = Evil! You only have to look at a few Disney movies to learn that as a kid…? And when does Beauty = Good…? When it’s also = Weak! ^^Pay very close attention to those few lines of Code, because that’s the deception at play when it comes to “Beauty+Power”! Celine grew up AFRAID of her own BEAUTY… or atleast before she started down the path of realizing her dream of becoming a CEO, she made this association when she was younger; If I’m Beautiful (which she was) & Brilliantly Smart (which she was) am I Evil…? ^^This scared her… because Celine didn’t have a bad bone in her body; she was literally the epitome of the Lawful Good… She was Iron willed and Domineering (Powerful)… but in her mind on some level… to avoid from being “Evil” which she feared… She removed the Element of “Beauty” from how she presented herself to the world… or atleast she toned it down as much as she could by just almost never dressing up “Being a Princess” or a “Hot Secretary” in how she revealed herself to people. Society told her that Women (with Power) are Evil; And Feminist’s told her that Men (with Power) are Evil; ^^She couldn’t WIN! The game was completely rigged… and she found this out within weeks of joining that software company when ALL the lies met in one place and her whole world fell apart before her eyes! Yet for me… in trying to make sense of the same situation I had a very different realization… Firstly, because I was a Man… Power was what I was supposed to have… But from my POV I had absolutely none… (I was a Feminine / Androgynous Male with ALL of the social problems that came with this…) I psychologically said this after examining my own situation which utterly perplexed me for the longest time. If I’m Beautiful (which I was) & Brilliantly Smart (which I was) why am I not Powerful? :D And in exploring this self mystery… what I discovered for myself was that my Greatest sense of Power came from that which I created, Art, Music, Writing, Games… preferably nothing that was in any ways dependant on anyone else, which was a very inward self embracing kind of Power, and that is what people refer to as the “Left Handed Path” or Feminine Dark/Yin Energy… (And it so happened that my greatest loves/passions became also my greatest means to Power even in a Corporate Environment) Did you know that such is what the “Darkside of the Force” is? ^^It’s Female Yin/Energy! The Power of Allurement, Mystery, Grace, Charm, Passion, Deception… But NONE of these forces/elements are Evil! Evil is how a person “chooses” to use them, and that’s what Celine and I didn’t understand back then…. [Shakes Head] So getting back to how I was succeeding where Celine failed with regards to wooing the Upper Management? Well besides just my general mode of Feminine Charms styled communication… I made everything I “Created” as Beautiful as possible, and presented my work to my Bosses (Men & Women) as a lesson in fine Art (A Geisha style of Presentation) when it came to both programming or straight up design… (or even just a cup of tea for someone :D) ^^And I let them basically… “Rape my Creativity” while I metaphorically bent over a desk and smiled graciously as I cashed Massive Pay cheques and was brought out to company dinners with the Upper Management (eventually even Politicians) and promised the world. And that was MY choice to make, and I never felt “dirty” about it… but the grim reality was and this is an absolute FACT… I was whoring myself out to these people, I was giving them the VERY best of myself, my time, my energy, my creativity…. The ONLY difference between this and what Ill talk about in a second was that I wasn’t trading “Physical Sex” for success… But I was still making my Bosses Male & Female c.um in their pants/panties over what they could achieve by using me. (In truth I had very much fallen back into the patterns of one of my old past selves when I worked as a Geisha in grand old Japan… because that’s MY female comfort zone (though I was actually seriously failing in a number of ways….)) Yet even though I wouldn’t give them my body, which wasn’t even a factor because the energy requirement was fulfilled through Artistry alone… I was being completely “Fu.cked”… though I considered the Money and Esteem I got in return ample reward. I expect women would find the above laughable in my equivocating of such with the concept of them bending over a desk for their Boss, or climbing under the table… but if the rewards are the same, and the woman wilfully does such with only her eyes on the Prize (Money/Promotion/Power)… can you honestly say there is a difference? Shaking your head still huh…? Don’t worry… Celine’ did too; (^^I could write a WHOLE essay/section on the mechanics involved with regards to WILFULLY trading Creativity or Beauty/Sex for Power/Rewards… because it would most definitely take a proper essay to explain my reasoning behind why I feel it’s a completely honourable concept and ultimately necessary! So maybe next time….) And the question you are asking is this…. If Celine (A Woman) was as creatively brilliant as me, would she be treated the same, could she “Who.re ” herself in the same way in by trading “Artistry” for Money/Promotion/Power in a Corporate Environment without having to trade Physical Sexual favours? Short answer…YES! She ended up doing EXACTLY that, in fact it was Celine who enlightened me as to what I WAS doing and saved me from myself…! As Celine, being the Geisha Teahouse Owner/Patron that she is at heart… (Which she WAS when we lived together in Japan) NEVER wanted to see her Girls being taken advantage of, or turned into lowly Wh.ores… For such reflected horribly on her Management Skills (and seeing her Prized “Yin-Geisha”(ME) being compromised… broke her heart for having knowingly put me in that position in the first place without proper training… while she was my Yang/Manager!) and she literally had to pull me aside and say… Lei, STOP! Know your worth… none of these people deserve even a sampling of what you’re offering…! Because at that time (remember I was Young/Naive) I didn’t even realize what a complete “Creative Wh.ore” I had become… (Which is not the Path of Geisha, because I just wasn’t trading for equal rewards) and sooner or later I may have even considered bending over a desk for someone (For a Man or a Woman, and it was Female superiors who demanded the most wooing lol) to get what I wanted and I wouldn’t have felt the least bit bad about it… Though the reward would HAVE to match the Prize… which would be substantial… Im talking worthy of retirement! (^^Hey… I was once a Prized Geisha, and the best Geisha’s never spread their legs until they aim to retire from the entertainment business… I still remembered THAT much atleast lol :p) Now, while I said Celine was successful when she changed her own approach and attitude towards her “Creativity”…! The reality was… if she really wanted to jump up the Corporate Ladder… she needed to have more Yin Energy than even me… And without a doubt the easiest and fastest way to achieve this is through Physical Female Beauty… (This she couldn’t accept, I mean she understood it but her personality as it currently was would never allow for this to happen…) And as for myself… well I didn’t have enough of her Yang Energy to leap over various obstacles that get placed in front of me, or knock down the intangible doors that often halt my success… as some just don’t have “Locks” to pick… Yet this is where Celine shines like the head-lights of an oncoming train… For Celine is a “Yang Battering Ram”…! And her approach to power is… GET THE FRAK OUT OF MY WAY… I’m Busting through all Obstacles & Doors! ...and should Celine ever slam into a "Tangible Door" (Person, that won't budge), then allow Yin to work it's Magic... For my approach via Yin-Power is! Oh look a Locked Vault…. How very interesting, I wonder what Secrets & Treasures lay behind such; Give me time… patience… and a lot of lube… I’ll crack this lock, or hack this code… one way or another… I’m unsealing that Door! ...OK Celine! Now you can Knock it down! And if you want to succeed in a Corporatocracy (Male or Female), you MUST accept that you are Playing a Game, and the rules are simple… Power = Beauty Beauty = Power; And when Beauty == Power (true); You Can Win…! Because “Beauty” is the most “Intelligent Force” in the Universe! (GOD) ^^Now in speaking specifically about how Sex factors into that equation… Understand I’m not talking about “Sex,(the physical act)”, but I am speaking about the veiled promise of it in EVERY action you take… because THAT requires a Person with a mind of Tempered Steel and with an Incredible understanding of Beauty… to be pulled off successfully! ^^An Ice Queen/Geisha! Anything less… is a Courtesan Wh.ore, and you will NEVER become Queen once you have already traded your greatest Prize… But trading what you feel is your greatest worth (be that a piece of Artwork, a Concept, a Song…. OR something else...) to GET exactly what you want out of life, well that is simply the Natural Laws of the Universe working in Absolute Harmony….! And to “become” a CEO/Queen… understanding this will be 100% Necessary! You just have to decide what you are willing to trade… And Celine for a time was willing to trade even ME! It’s all just Energy you know, and just a matter of how a person chooses to utilize this understanding…! And remember too… Behind every Great Yang, is a Great Yin… (or vice versa)! But someone who has found their Balance/Centre is the most Powerful of ALL! Remember different Doors to Success/Rewards, require different Energy/Keys to get them open (which as Celine learned, ramming them won’t always work), so learn to use both forms of Yin & Yang to their MAXIMUM potential, balance your own energy accordingly… or find a Partner who has what you don’t have and work together! And when it came to my own demons in this regard, I was incredibly prone to using my Artistry/Creativity to attract people’s attention… (Celine fell in love with such in college…) but all I ever done was to display Yin Energy in some form or another… It just so happened that women (and men too) would follow the flow of my Dark Designs to find a way to reach “their own” Feminine Energy… and as long as I was “Their Darkness/Shadow” they’d feel safe enough to reach for it. (It’s also part my choice to let them do this… because I have my own issues just the same I guess… in following them to reach for Masculine Power… which is what Celine HAD in Spades!) How this all balanced though… Well it appeared Celine needed a representation of a Male figure in her life (even a very Dark/Feminine one), which symbolically played out in me giving Celine permission to tap into her own Womanliness…. As it was I (A Man) who told Celine to wear a dress to work so she could first experience her True Power… because she knew I would NEVER treat her like an Object even if she came to work naked… (I’d think she was completely nuts… but she was still a Person who also happened to be a dear friend). But as much as I was holding that “Shadow Space” for Celine… she was doing the exact same for me by showing me how powerful I was… That I had natural talent/skill in how I could so freely move up the Leadership ladder if I chose to… I just needed a woman/Manager to say in a commanding Male tone… “Show them how brilliant you are!” (Permission to use my Power) Which Celine did when she got me that job in the first place… :D (What an amazing Woman she was at just 23!) However… back then, (though perhaps not a lot has changed I suppose lol) I was still afraid of my own Power, in fear of becoming Evil… And Celine was afraid of her own Beauty, in fear of becoming Evil… A pair of us in it to be sure, we both wanted what the other seemingly possessed! Yet we both HAD exactly that… we just hadn’t figured it out yet [Wink] Or weren’t yet brave enough to fully explore this and get over our own fears of making this mistake; Beauty+Power = Evil; Society told us… and it is still telling everyone else… That the choice when it comes to “Evil” has already been made for you…! B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T! And one of my sincerest hopes; Is that one day I will turn on a TED Talk and it will be; ~ Miss Celine van Rosencroft ~ (“Mr Lawful Good”) ::How to fix ALL the worlds Problems in 30mins:: (Because I’m pretty sure she will still be THAT Idealistic) Who then struts onto the stage with Catlike Grace; And has dared to tap the FULL potential of her Feminine P.O.W.E.R! By wearing the Sexiest and most Elegant Business suit complete with Short Skirt and matching Heels, with her Hair and makeup Picture Perfect… An image of Beauty so captivating one might suspect that the Goddess Venus herself has descended from the stars by Magic to introduce the world to her Stunning Female Form…! And when Celine opens her mouth to speak, and starts off on that Hypnotic Monologue which she has so beautified with her “Continental English Accent” and delicate tones of alluring pitches and falls… She will leave the world gasping for Air as the Power of her Mind and Intellect utterly dazzles all who hear her mesmerizing idea’s on how to heal the world’s problems. Yes, on that day… Ill be the first to stand and clap! …………..While whispering from the Shadows off Stage (“Miss Lawful Evil”) …….All Hail the fu.cking Queen…! Of the “One World Government” :D ------~*~Happy Halloween~*~------ ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;} IP: Logged |

Just some quick notes.I can relate about how appearing feminine changes how many people deal with me. I didn't dress (or behave) seductively or use heels, but I was feminine (can't be bothered to explain now) and I got a lot more business, and also more hostility from certain women (though it wasn't quite so dramatic, but then neither was my change, at least not as dramatic as Celine's). I figured it was people considered me more "mature" that way (even at age 21 I was being carded at times to get into R-rated movies, but after I went feminine that never happened again), but who knows? (I helped to destroy one slimy guy's business who was incredibly obnoxious to me, and he thought I was some dumb blonde he could "take care of." I made a lot of money off that fool, and knowing that he was interested in me in a sex toy, I insinuated he had a chance...it was so much more satisfying than slapping his face or yelling at him over the way he talked to and harassed me, and I needed the money so I was glad to have an excuse. But I wouldn't have done it save he started it and treated me as a dumb woman, so I let the dumb man think so while I took him for all he was worth. And there were a couple of gigs as well which I used a lot of strategy as well as being sexy to get ahead but those were the exception...and to others reading, I didn't actually have sex with anyone.) I think you can appreciate this (btw, Elphie/Elphaba, the woman destined to become the Wicked Witch of the West, was also idealistic and brilliant--the musical here was much more upbeat than the book but remains the same in that regards): Popular When I see depressing creatures With unprepossessing features I remind them on their own behalf to think of Celebrated heads of state or Especially great communicators. Did they have brains or knowledge? Don't make me laugh! They were popular! Please— It's all about popular! It's not about aptitude It's the way you're viewed So it's very shrewd to be Very very popular Like me! Of course being attractive helps no matter what, because we humans are visual beings and make snap judgments. I've even seen it on LL where someone was posting the kind of men she liked and didn't like, and though she listed personality traits and values, the image was always someone who looked good and the one with the bad a man who looked ugly, like you could tell the good witch from the bad witch by appearances (which makes me wonder why Dorothy didn't slap Glinda for asking if she was good or bad ) I almost asked her about that, but she'd deleted enough her posts without answering anything when I asked her anything, no matter how harmlessly I meant it, that I didn't ask. I'm certain if Edward Cullen or Christian Grey looked like Homer Simpson that their behavior wouldn't have been given the incredibly positive spin it gets currently. (Btw, more on why Glinda is the real villain of Oz. )
I've learned how easy it is to fool people by appearance (doesn't matter if it's high school or the offices, they make a difference--though not necessarily as much as some think), even those who swear their intuition is never wrong, and a pretty package works wonders. And while good looking people can ruin that advantage with a chronic rotten attitude, if two people are are roughly equal in personality and skill then the edge will likely go to the one who looks better (especially if it involves dealing with the public)...and it may not even be conscious (*). (* An interesting experience: I once told a neighborhood guy that I tried going into the nearby Subway when I could get a male employee because they put more on the sandwiches I ordered, with my thought was that maybe the females automatically figured I was on a diet while guys typically didn't think of diets so didn't hold back. But he said it was the opposite for him, so we tested it and even used kitchen scales to weigh them! Sure enough, women gave him more and me less, while it was the reverse with the male employees. But neither of us believed any of them were actually conscious of doing that.) And I've seen it a lot on YT, especially for women (but also men to a lesser but still noticeable extent), women (and sometimes men) a lot less funny or insightful will become a lot more popular if they look good. I certainly don't think it's just a coincidence that many astrologers I've seen linked to on YT from LL were almost always fairly to very good looking (granted, the sheer cruelty on YT no doubt also discourages many from posting their own vids if they're not considered attractive which means it's easier to find the good looking ones, but that doesn't explain all of it). Heck, LG herself always showed herself in her youth in every book I ever seen of hers, no matter how old she actually was, and I don't doubt it helped sales, just as a pro psychic I knew became more popular by being younger and typically prettier by contemporary standards (despite that I'd personally imagine the Crone being better able to see into the Other World/use divination), enough that some of the other pro psychics losing business to her played real dirty. (I don't know if it means anything, but even media doctors--especially if female--are generally shown much younger than I'd expect them to be, even if they're supposedly renown doctors.)
And your Memoirs of a Geisha clip didn't work for me. Is this it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYzqz3dMBCo
Kinda reminds me of a book called The Satanic Witch. Finally...an experiment (for a university) performed on the difference on how she's helped based on her clothes and makeup (and big difference though she doesn't change her looks that much): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnEvFGywBGU
And a similar one on looks matter for a social psychology class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNU9RhjsWkI Maybe I'll revisit this soon.

Omg… LOL!That “Popular” video… [Can’t stop laughing (every time I watch it)]…. I expect had Celine embraced her beauty when she was younger, she would have ended up just like Glinda (and as I said previously, there is an “Intelligence” in understanding Beauty and Maximizing it… and in how Glinda behaved, with her character’s understandings of basic social concepts with regards to Human Nature… as far as I’m concerned, such is Genius (yes It’s fictional but I’m sure everyone knows women “like that”… and I bet they are Successful!)) Though interestingly, there is NO way Celine and I would have became friends if she actually WAS like Glinda when we met hue hue… :D The whole experience of working for that Company when fresh out of college was just an unbelievable wake up call for the both of us… (Celine & I) In a lot of ways we were both socially retarded because we focused all our attention on being “Book Smart” (Wizards & Witches), though I adapted (Alot of Water in my Chart) much faster to the Corporate scene than Celine… because I accepted my role as a “Wand / Show Piece” (which was what I loved to do anyways, just show people what I can create) which meant I “Switched Yang/Magicians” from Celine to… the head of the Company/Voldemort… :\ The whole situation just became a tug of war to get control of me… for she dropped her “wand” and had to get it back LOL… Ofc, when the “Wand” realized it actually HAD power…. :D The need for a Manager becomes a lot less… (And that was part of the lesson I was suppose to learn during that time… my huge fear with regards to “becoming”… or being used for Evil) And in Celine’s case, she learned that she simply had to Craft herself a “Master Wand”, her very own Feminine Charm (Complete with Matching Heels lol)! Look out world, Celine has found her Power! Has Voldemort / The Corporatocracy Gained Possession of the Elder Wand? :D OR
Glinda… ^^Is there a difference between the Lawful Good & Evil hue hue!? (Not a whole lot I expect, but change IS Good… Gooood!)
-=-=-=-= I’m not at all surprised by the other videos you posted (The Social Experiments), and as for that book… Well, more later :p (And yes that was the “Geisha Video” I linked too in my essay, I fixed the links now I think, could you try them again for me and see if they work… or anyone else… that would be helpful!) ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

edit ☺ I've also noticed that covering up in a place where people are accustomed to seeing bare skin is quite powerful. I dressed like a Saudi woman for 3 years while living in an agricultural region of America.
Maybe it was simply "the shock of the other", but I had more strangers than ever in my life profess their love for me. I wasn't working during those years. Just living off of rental property income, but men would leave a building, pass me on my way going into the building, turn around, and run ahead of me to get the door for me. I had roses left on my car and door step more than once. My 7 year old noticed all the attention and said she thought it was cool everyone loved mama. I am average looking. When I am not wearing hijab and abaya (what Saudi women wear), I don't get much attention unless I try to look nice. I think hijab and abaya are beautiful and elegant I don't think of them as sexy at all. I did feel incredibly powerful, like an empress... Like I was holding all the cards, and whatever happened next would be my choice and on my terms.
I just found the reaction of small-town America a little shocking. I actually stopped wearing hijab because the attention became exhausting. Now in a lifetime before my hijabi days (more like a couple of years) I was a stripper. The only time I dressed up was when I worked. This is another time in my life when I received an unusual amount of attention and had considerable sway in my every day life without trying. Without makeup and all the other junk I looked average (even with makeup I looked average). I dressed comfortably when I was out, but still the energy around me was always charged. Eventually I decided that people could "smell" my work activities and behavior on me when I wasn't working...or maybe I had become so accustomed to using my sexuality to get what I wanted (money) I wasn't aware of what I was doing in every day situations. It's interesting that the way I dressed and behaved at those 2 times in my life are so different, but the reaction to me was so similar. I did feel more powerful as a hijabi than I did a stripper. As a hijabi I gave nothing away except a smile if I was feeling merciful.... I wasn't making any money for those smiles...but people we extremely kind. Men were beyond helpful and accommodating. In terms of power, they made me feel like I had influence. Anyway, I can't believe I read all that. I shy away from long posts because I'm a lazy bum, but I enjoyed your post so much I couldn't stop reading. I tried. IP: Logged |

Glinda (Galinda in the much darker novel, she'd later adopt the name "Glinda" in honor of the Goat--animals that can talk are capitalized in Oz--after he was murdered by the command of the Wizard, a vile man from Earth, in the novel, though simply made "dumb" in the musical) and Elphie/Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) found it VERY hard to get along. Their years in the university (not just the two of them) were something like the Breakfast Club. It was brilliant how the two came to love each other deeply, but then turn into political enemies (though it turns out Glinda wasn't quite the sell out she came off as, she was merely getting her pieces in place and biding her time, for she, like Elphie, never forgave the murder of the Goat professor at the command of the Wizard of Oz). As I said earlier, the musical is a lot less dark, it's even sugar coated enough to bring the kids to. Here's the scene I love where Elphie finally becomes the "Wicked Witch" (ie, Enemy of the State/Wizard), and I love in the book how both had grown so much to reach this point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g4ekwTd6Ig (Btw, if Elphie singing sounds familiar, she sang Let It Go in Frozen, an oddly similar song, and I gave a link for her character being a literal ice queen! ) I love when Yin & Yang can work in such harmony...tragic that the two were forced to split ways and then fight each other as much as the Wizard of Oz. As for a difference between Lawful Good and Lawful Evil, I do see a difference. BSG had the Lawful axis down really good: Commander Adama, Lawful Neutral. President Roslin, Lawful Good. Admiral Helena Cain, Lawful Evil. It gets murky given their extreme circumstances which forced tough choices, and I'm seeing their alignment more in their motivation (the moral & ethical philosophy they ultimately hoped to promote even when they decided that "the ends justified the means") rather than tactics (though tactics also get counted, along with "extenuating circumstances"). The devils/baatezu of Planescape would've LOVED Cain even more than the cylons, and using the Planescape (which is based on moral and ethical alignments), Cain's soul, upon death, went to Baator (or possibly Acheron ) to become a new Lawful Evil spirit to continue the work of the devils. (Note, the links to Baator and Acheron happen to be explained by a devout Lawful Good Christian, which was interesting, and for all my quibbles and alignment difference with him, I've got to admit he did a good job at mixing alignment philosophy/Planescape put into the context of his own theological beliefs.) @venus2tinkerbell: Thanks so much for taking the time to read my essay, (and I’m glad you enjoyed it :) ) I understand that forums are not always the best places for these types of writings… but it can be fun (even just writing it, which is what I still love doing (Yin))! And it’s far more interesting to be able to talk about similar experiences with others and learn fun stuff I never knew of before… :D (^^Which I have in regards to what You & Pixie have shared, thanks so much!) And bothering to actually get off my ass and share some of that Yin-Energy is probably me being more “Yang” these days lol… (Cause that’s my biggest obstacle… which Celine always LOVED to point out to me… (My sore spot)) “Lei… stop hoarding all your Power… you could take over the World…! You are SO annoying… I have to fight for every scrap of Energy I can get and…. YOU…. Grrrssss (stamps her “flat heeled” feet) ….just create it out of nothing and SIT there…! (I’ll tell you what Celine… I’ll get off my ass… when you show alittle LOL) ………………..realizes he has made a huge mistake………. “I HATE you! (Slams Door)” (Goes back to painting her Portrait… And thinks; ”Too bad you will never see it” ….stores it with the others lol) (Giggle)… Us in a nutshell <3 ….something’s gotta give hue hue… -=-=-=-= @Pixie: Been taking a look at that “Satanic Witch” book… OK, I can pretty much guess it’s contents, Yep… It’s interesting in that I haven’t read it but it seems I drew some similar conclusions just based on my own experiences… Am I a Satanist then lol? (I certainly don’t identify with any such affiliation… but the parallels in my general POV’ about a lot of things do line up with theirs….) …………..! Wait… such might explain the Horns growing out of my head… and this strange Tail like protrusion that I keep catching in the door…. Or that my Cat can’t stop playing with…. Shew… shew… grrr (My new Cat is called Yin btw… He is All black with White Paws and a White Underbelly LOL) But OMG…! I can’t’ say I care for the name that LaVey (or whoever) chose for it’s Title, WHAT was he thinking lol… That’s a marketing failure if I have ever seen one….) Definitely worth a look though, have you read it Pix? ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

Yes, I've read it. A Satanist (as in LaVeyan which is more worship of the material so that the most sacred day of the year is one's own birthday--and though to rise up in the ranks required money, they refused tax exempt status saying no church should be exempt from taxes, which made them at least a tad more honest and tad less materialistic and hypocritical than many televangelists) gave it to me which included lessons in cold reading geared to finding out what kink or fetish a man had (and state all men had them, which is probably true). It was brilliant in how to manipulate a man (didn't mean necessarily giving him what he wanted, but making him think--preferably subconsciously--that he had a shot), which is why an alternate title is "What to Do When Virtue Fails." This includes ways to apply it to advance at work (without actually having sex, just planting little suggestions in their heard without them realizing you're playing them). What I really loved was the observations on the fashion industry. If I'd heard him saying that, I'd have been in the aisle with hands raised going, "Amen, preach it brother!" (At first glance this might seem to contradict the arts of the Geisha, but quite the contrary, he believed in firm standards rather than the snake oil salesmen trying to make women feel ugly so they bought their products and keeping them perpetually insecure to keep them spending money, and praised transsexuals for remembering what timeless feminine beauty is and in some cases coming off as more femininely beautiful than the women who keep up with all the fashion trends--just remember the time it was written in as it was even more true then than now, however.) I wish my mom would read this (but she's not a reader) so I could get her thoughts...she'd either be really impressed or dismiss them (supposedly LaVey's wife at the time helped, and commercial reasons kept her name off the cover) as amateurs. There was one major weakness IMO which was the constitutional psychology (or reading someone by their body type--I believe Robert Anton Wilson dabbled in such ideas as well), which didn't strike me as likely, save as incidental (one type would strike me as likely to have a vegetarian diet and probably smoke pot at the time the book was written and thus be inclined to have such a body, while another type probably ate a lot of meat and also sought out positions of authority, including in police and military, which would give them their body type, which is why I say INCIDENTALLY it may have been inclined to be so, but not to be confused with "destiny"), so I took it with a large pile of salt and remembered the time it was originally written in when such ideas weren't so discredited yet. And I've met people whose body type didn't match up. But even cutting that out, the rest of the book stands up on its own. I no longer have a copy. I sold the copy I was given (along with many others) to get a bus ticket to Texas, and then I was lucky enough to get another later, it was stolen within the year (almost certainly by a kid).
As for why LaVey chose such hokey names...It probably got him more sales through notoriety (and given his background, he'd know well the value of that, IIRC he was one of those who knew how movie makers paid people to say how scandalous the movie was is it boosted ticket sales by titillating some, exciting the curiosity of others, and drew in the self-righteous wanting an emotional S&M ride watching it). I know some kids bought his books and never read them. It was because of the titles and the kids with them that I had no interest in them as I figured it was about the worship of a demon rather than the self and Material World. (It could be summed up as "looking out for #1.")
One kid who liked the Satanic Bible even killed pigeons for Satan despite that LaVey said the animals should be honored (and only killed for self-defense or food), and that to sacrifice for anyone outside of yourself--even to a mythical devil--was a "white light" trait of vampiric religions like Christianity that demand you sacrifice yourself, so anyone who made sacrifices to Satan had completely missed the point. But I didn't know that as a kid so I judged it by the kids who wanted to be shocking, and who bought the books just to shock people rather than to actually read them (the pages could've been completely blank or filled with "eat your vegetables" and they'd have still bought/stole them!). I just hope that the one who stole my copy (probably a kid) actually bothers to READ the damn thing rather than merely use it as a fashion accessory. Btw, cool name for a cat! IP: Logged |

@Pix:In reference to Glinda (that “Popular” clip)…(Which btw, I have watched about 15 times… and… can’t… stop… Laughing….!) You can tell that Woman is just a Barrel of Laughs, Brilliant! (I love the Actress… for how can a person not smile when a woman of such Beauty… and so in tune with her own sense of Power/Creativity gives such a performance… Awesome!) And while I said there is NO way I could have been friends with Celine (when we first met) if she was like Glinda from the clip, (and Yes, I’m unfamiliar with the Book… and I haven’t even seen “Frozen” (Clearly Lives under a Rock… lol… or is it just that I’m too busy Painting, Writing etc :p?))… Anyways… what’s really interesting to me is that because of the “Gender/Energy Reversal” between Celine and myself… “I was Glinda” when we met in College… but FAR worse… I didn’t need to open my mouth to be “Popular”… I’m the one sitting on the bed (but looking like a Model not a Witch) and with all the Charm…! (Which is what I was like in College, and Worshipped like a God of Creativity lol…**rolls eyes**) (^^Actions speak louder than words!) With Celine left running around like Hermione Granger trying to gain that same sense of “Popularity”… only to be met with people hating on her…. because she hadn’t quite mastered her own sense of “Feminine Yin/Charm” yet… :( (Even though she was Brilliantly Creative (And Naturally Beautiful) herself, and also better than me in alot of different mediums... Poor Celine, she felt like she got the short end of the stick… or perhaps just the wrong Gender/Body) …though together we were unstoppable (Yin & Yang), and I think even that scared us lol (Kids scare easy hue hue….) And this is I suppose unpopular for me to say but… Celine and I grew up never really being overly concerned about our looks… because we didn’t have to be, both of us were born looking like Super Models and also treated like “Desired Objects” (which we both hated (atleast from the POV us being treated like “Sex Toys”)… and deeply conflicted with our actual “Geeky” personalities)… so what did we do lol??? Became as Nerdy and Bookwormish as possible to avoid being “Popular”…! …….only to find out when we ventured into the “Corporate/Real World”, we needed to be as “Popular” as possible… and I just had a far easier time because I was all Yin/Female in my approach (after “Yang/Male” got my foot in the door when Celine busted through all the initial barriers)….! Yet despite the Misadventures, I do feel like we were incredibly fortunate to have the experiences that we had at such a young age... and BOTH of us gained a unique perspective on life… which will serve us well in balancing our Energy…! -=-==-= I’ll try and comment on what you said about Satanic Witch, currently busy… back later. ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

Thanks Pix, enjoyed your analysis of "The Satanic Witch", and I've added it to my list of books to read [Nods] quote: Yes, I've read it. A Satanist (as in LaVeyan which is more worship of the material so that the most sacred day of the year is one's own birthday
That’s the major aspect that causes me to flinch at the notion of being called a “Satanist”… for those I’ve seen who fully embrace that sort of a Philosophy are often incredibly narcissistic, which ultimately will lead to a self destruction… And who are primarily focused on the pleasures of the Material World. (In all its forms) It’s a doomed mode of thinking in my view, that isn’t to say I don’t agree with many other aspects of the so called Satanic Doctrine but again, I balk at the notion of being labelled as such. Yes, as I did say in the essay I’m self embracing and Yin-Orientated, but at the same time a Geisha must also be “selfless”, (though not to the point of stupidity, and in a corporate environment... you must also become an Ice-Queen) and that’s the KEY difference… What I’m interested in is Art & Beauty (which I feel is a very Spiritual type of a Mindset that is focused Primarily on the Intangible and Imaginative Aspects of Life… a limitless source of Power/Beauty & Energy), and displaying these types of Grimoires/Symbols that essentially bring other people a sense of pleasure…! My passion for what I love… while drawn from an inward source, is actually projected outwardly, where as from what I understand of Satanism… it’s ME ME ME… take ALL the Energy & Power you can get from not only the Actions of Oneself, but from everyone else… with not always an emphasis on Beauty… and the use of Power in such ways IS for lack of a better term… Evil lol… Ultimately, I do create for myself, for my own sense of pleasure through Art, though with the bonus of getting to share these passions with others, but yes… It’s also stupid to give away your best creations for free, or giving people your Creative Energy when they don’t deserve it, but the fall back is… You never lose, when you create something you really love…. Though from a Material World POV, Yes, an Artist can be screwed, but it becomes a choice to feel bitter about that or not… The better aspects of Satanism would be, you can learn to stay shrewd about life in following some of it’s core doctrine, don’t let yourself be exploited… and understand the Game being played, especially when it comes to Beauty/Power/Sex… Though that’s right about where I part company with LaVey Satanism… I don’t know what the hell I am, Luciferian perhaps [Laughs]! (That would explain the Horns… but did you know that Lucifer is actually a Woman hue hue?) ^^Yin, The Darkside of the Force [Wink] If Feminism really wants to get ahead, they should go full Geisha mode, and Embrace Female Beauty to such an extreme that Venus will indeed descend from the Stars… though I suspect… Celine will be leading the charge at which point lol… Or perhaps me, hue hue… times running out Celine! ^^Something I think LaVey would laugh his ass off at btw…! And with regards to the name they chose for the Book… Point taken, and if IIRC there was alot of Satanic Panic going on in the late 70’s & 80’s which they probably benefited from… even still, just from a Tasteful/Beauty POV… Bleh… Not exactly my cup of herbal tea… Nope, you would never find me attending a Church of LaVey Satanism, except for maybe an RP game of Vampire Masquerade (which itself is a bizarre notion, that they ARE actually an organized religion… but whatever…) for my Church is Artistry… and Creating Beauty (in all it’s forms) my Bible… Perhaps Luciferianism is even well off the mark in describing my Philosophy for it would appear under closer inspection I’m a Gods damn Raphaelite! (Not that there seems to be a doctrine of Luciferianism that I’ve actually read and so could compare notes with my own Version… since it’s probably held in the Vatican Vaults… ahh now perhaps there is a Door “Yin” might be able to get it’s Tentacles into and open LOL… [Ponders the Thought]) Ahhh Yes, Raphael was surely a Mortal God I can identify with… And his love for Beauty/Women and the Female form… Curvy indeed <3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Graces_%28Raphael%29 Feminists should make Raphael their Iconic God of All things Beauty! (4th or 5th wave of Feminism… It’s gonna happen..!) ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

Getting a bit off topic, so I'll just say that LaVey isn't the Pope of Satanism. There are other kinds. And different kinds of Luciferans as well.But one thing I wanted to ask... quote: Originally posted by Lei_Kuei: you would never find me attending a Church of LaVey Satanism, except for maybe an RP game of [b]Vampire Masquerade (which itself is a bizarre notion, that they ARE actually an organized religion… but whatever…) for my Church is Artistry… and Creating Beauty (in all it’s forms) my Bible…[/B]
As a former player of this game...huh? Are you confusing Satanism with the Sabbat? And as a former player, I think you might want to read up more on the Toreador (which my character was, btw). And though they almost never sought power (too much work) they frequently ended up being the power behind the throne (having the power without the work and the risks, when one leader was assassinated, they just switched sides, it's expected--most vampire politics are about survival of their one's self and species--usually in that order--without sentiment or ideals). As we were LARPing (live action), the emphasis was on playing a role (acting) rather than combat, so it was like a vampire soap opera as a few constantly sought power in this fictional world and curried the favor of the rest of us (in part not to get crushed by the elders by having us help hide their schemes or help them survive suicide missions), which could get interesting, and I'm glad that it never got personal even as they schemed against each other. Interesting enough, none of us had read Machiavelli at the time, but when I finally read The Prince, I thought it was amazing how often vampire politics worked out that way. Perhaps the creator of the game incorporated Machiavelli into the design, and we (being adaptable teens) were fast learners. I shocked the others by secretly forming an alliance with the dreaded Nosferatu clan, and I helped sneak them into places they could never get into while I had favors to call in and learned their concealment power, AND I was able to explain my character's motivation--and it included an artistic point of view which was deliciously twisted--to the other players, once they caught on. They had to admit it was a brilliant alliance that benefited both sides in the scheming way of vampires, and suddenly all the power players were fiercely competing to get me on their side with all sorts of promises for new powers not normally available to the Toreador as well as favors, which made me a political player in my own right, the only female in my gaming group that did while other females focused on love stories (though they got pulled into the vampire politics themselves, of course). If LaVey's CoS were to host such a game (which would surprise me), I'm sure they'd charge admission, and they had better have something to make it worth the price of admission...though there was a club in Frisco (can't remember the name of it now) that had Satanic themes (and Satanists would meet there at times) that would be a lot of fun to play the game in... ETA: short stories from The Beast Within include a vampire who was turned in the days of the Inquisition, and was himself an Inquisitor (and probably continued to be as a vampire). And even in the modern day he had a penchant for snatching up "sinners" to torture to death in his spare time (though as best I recall, he was at an age that a vampire elder's wits start to get scattered and seemed genuinely confused on what century it was at times). Well yes, to go OT then, kindaI don’t think I’m confusing the two, as in Satanism/Sabbat… (And while Satanism is only a shade away from RP in a very real sense, the Sabbat Mythos it seems is getting the better end of the stick in that regard) but what I am confusing is the sub RP genres in how those games are broken up… for blanket labeling them as VP Masquerade is bound to ruffle feathers lol… (or is that actually how they ARE all referenced?) - Thanks for the heads up. And in that same Genre (RP Call of Cthulhu Family) I have only ever played Delta Green which I absolutely loved… though had I really gotten into it I’d probably preferred creating games/scenarios… rather than playing them which is more fun for me personally. (Since Im a Games Designer… that probably makes the most sense lol) As to your character, hue hue…! Sounds like you had a lot of fun with that, and I expect I’d have done exactly the same thing which is pretty hilarious… And in a very real way, I played exactly like that in the Corporate Environment, or at times certainly felt like everyone was fighting to gain control of me and offering me all kinds of under the table deals… While from an RP pov that’s fine… Yet I assure you, such was NO fun in a real setting when it’s the people you love the most squabbling over such things… Yet in regards to what you said about The Prince, I can see that it’s VERY likely it influenced those RP games, and ironically I’m sure it’s how most if not ALL the best players in a Real Life Corporate System play… as if it’s EXACTLY that, a Game… which is ofc what I said in my essay anyhow. (You have to if you want to “Win”). We should have just played something like VP hue hue… perhaps there would have been a lot less heart-ache. But when the stakes are high, as in “Real World” high… well I guess it’s just a new level of fun (but with that comes the next level of pain)… yet if everyone realized that hey, it’s just a Game… (Though when will everyone actually realize this… what’s it gonna take for people to wake the fu.ck up?)…. Perhaps… Up the Horror Level… +99?)… Maybe… just maybe, we could start a new one… and stop going in circles and chasing each others tails in hope of getting the last chips on the table and saying… I won!... because ultimately, the last man standing is also the biggest loser. ^^It’s why I left that Rat Race and focused more on Art/Beauty… ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

LaVey's Church of Satan is a philosophy that incorporates some religious-like elements as the philosophy includes that as a human need, but they (in theory) want it to be more healthy than the "white light" religions. The central organization doesn't even try to hide the fact that if you want to get officially accepted, that you're going to have pay money (and I believe they want you to show other signs of prosperity). Many are happy not being officially recognized, and who knows what ways they diverge? Given how all religions morph to fit the needs of the individuals and cultures they become involved in, I'm sure there's a lot of variety even in that specific framework. Heck, they themselves have officially split with other sects that take a more theistic view (as opposed to atheistic view of LaVey), one being the Temple of Set, and another I only heard about in Frisco that's said to actually revere an entity the way Catholics tend to revere a patron saint. But I've never heard of them connected to any roleplaying games, including V:TM. Of course there are other groups that have never had anything to do with them. I vaguely recall reading of the "Final Church" that I believe was started by an ex-Scientologist, but the only thing I recall clearly is that Charles Manson (who preached similar theological concepts) was involved with them, at least for a few months (there were also claims that at least a couple of serial killers were as well, I believe one serial killer saying he was, but no hard evidence was given). Some underground Crowley "sex magick" cults also exist that are practically Satanist (and may even include blood sacrifice, presumably of animals), and don't have anything in common with the Church of Satan as far as I can tell. The Order of Nine Angles is perhaps the sect closest to the public perception of Satanism known to the public (frankly, I'm surprised they haven't been taken down yet--maybe they DO have impressive magical powers... ), and they absolutely despise LaVey and his atheistic Church of Satan. Of course the more criminal cults are normally underground and avoid public scrutiny for obvious reasons. And the Luciferans tend to be of a different mold who see Lucifer as a just liberator from a tyrannical God, and seem may have ironically come from Gnostic Christians (and as a result of the Christianity established at the Council of Nicea did to them (and to others they oppressed down the road, getting people to hate the Christian god by rightfully hating the then brutal church). And then there are many others that really have nothing to do with Satan or Lucifer but get confused with it. To my knowledge, none of these have anything to do with any roleplaying game, including Vampire: The Masquerade. Nor does anyone who play it consider it anything other than a game, with the possible exception of the group by Rod Ferrell, which just sounds crazy rather than the practice of any religion (or anti-religion) in the same class as Slender Man violence, and not what either the LaVeyan church nor the roleplaying game V:TM promotes. And there is no link between the Church of Satan and V:TM as far as I know (though it wouldn't surprise me if if a Satanist had played the game, probably before joining). Or in the words of a conservative Christian and LEO who is part of the Tea Party... http://www.businessinsider.com/florida-house-candidate-defends-his-hobby-activities- 2014-4 Granted, it's Florida, THE strangest state in the USA. ETA: Florida Libertarian sacrifices goat! (Note: that's definitely not to be expected of Libertarians, even in Florida. I do vaguely recall a Druid in California who ran as Libertarian, but I'm not quickly finding anything relevant on that in an internet search.) IP: Logged |

Just to rewind abit….Going back for a moment with regards to what I said about CoS & Vampire Masquerade so there is no confusion, what I meant was, and I apologize if it was unclear: The only time you might catch me at an actual CoS “meeting place” (Church / Building) would be IF… it just so happened a game of VP was being held there in that Physical location… I wasn’t implying that there was some kind of a Mythos / Religious cross over going on between the two, and yea I'm sure it would cost money to attend lol. Yet thanks so much for posting all of that info & links, (because that’s equally relevant and interesting :)) I just haven’t had a chance to look into all of that yet, currently just a little busy… Back later. ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

@PixieStill reading up on what you posted, and firstly I wanted to say that I greatly appreciate the time you take to gather such research material, retrieve links, format them into your posts… I know that this takes time, and I never take that for granted… and am always amazed at the amount of link(s)/and cool beans that you dig up and post all over LL, (not just here), really helpful. Cheers And having checked out some of “The Beast Within”, the story interestingly appeared to come out at the same time as one of my all time favourite video games called “Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain” (It’s about Vampires). I would even go so far as to say it is far and away THEE best Vampire plot and characters I have ever read/played… as it spans across so many game(s) and time (time as in the era Centuries / Millennia in the SR Universe). The two main Characters are just Phenomenal… Kain (Elder Vampire) & Raziel (2nd in Command) of their Empire/Clan, though Raziel separately did at one time run his own Clan. Anyways, what’s really interesting is that (and you don’t find this out until much later and it’s a sick twist) is that Raziel was once a Sarafan Lord (Vampire Hunter… and an Extremely Brutal One)… until Kain turned him after a series of unfortunate events spread across time. Such reminds me of that Book you linked too (TBW), and as I said… seems they came out around the same era (2000). How the whole Legacy of Kain plot evolves is at times, utterly mind boggling… you almost need a chart to know what’s going on in each time period going backwards and forwards because Kain gains access to a sort of Elder God Technology… and starts to rain down unholy havoc upon the world of Nosgoth… but it’s so so much deeper than a sort of time dysfunction… as lets just say that there is the most fraked up “Method to His Madness” the likes of which I have never read lol… And the Alignment changes that the main plot Characters go through, from Lawful Evils through Righteous Chaos (Even instances of a kind of Lawful Good with a twist, as in the Sarafan Hunters)… and Neutral modes too with a sort of “frak the whole show” attitude is pretty well constructed Here is a video intro for Soul Reaver: LOK which I absolutely love, and you can see its got a kind of Roman Empire feel to it. (With Kain as Emperor). Oh yea… and the whole series is peppered with Lovecraftian Goodness… how could it not lol [Wink] If you were so inclined, the whole series in on YT, complete “Recorded Play Throughs” made into movies… that cut away a lot of the gameplay so it’s almost ALL story (its all voiced overed btw (The Characters), and it’s extremely well done). I can understand that without the context of playing the game… you might feel alittle lost but honestly it’s worth a look. (Can direct you to the links if you like, in fact you will see some of them on the YT side panel if you watch that intro to SR). Back later. I really don't like a lot of OP's implications: 1) Femininity is inherently deceptive and manipulative (i.e., using "charms" to get ahead instead of the intellectual talent she already has) 2) Women's personal problems can be "fixed" by acting more stereotypically feminine 3) Women who don't dress or act stereotypically feminine are somehow "broken" or less womanly. Before I started transitioning to male, I often alternated between wearing masculine clothing whenever I could, and feminine clothing when I had nothing else to wear. But many times when I wore masculine clothing in public, or shopped in the men's section at the clothing store, people (men and women) would stare and make rude comments. But I only feel comfortable in masculine clothing and would not trade it out for anything - it's not me (or any masculine-dressing person) who has to change, it's the society that judges their worth based on external appearances. I think it's more that men pretty much run the show and yet can be so weak. Actually, even many women judge other women by their looks as well. It would be nice if looks didn't matter, but that's just not going to happen, nor does society "have" to do anything about that (at least I don't see what would FORCE them to). Many men seeking power are careful to nurture an image and look their best as well, because they know looks matter, and that you will be judged by them. There's also some rambling by LK on beauty in general (that is, not just of personal beauty, but also artistic and architectural beauty that speaks to our souls, which LK believes is connected to human beauty). quote: Originally posted by deepseastar: 2) Women's personal problems can be "fixed" by acting more stereotypically feminine
I don't think this is what LK meant. While it does capitalize on feminine power, the stereotypical feminine is passive, and LK is talking about instead using that as a form of power rather than reward for someone else to use his power on her behalf. Stereotypical feminine is like Marilyn Monroe, or countless fairy tale princesses (Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc) while LK is talking more Daenerys Targaryen, one in which uses beauty to her advantage, but not relying on it, nor taking a passive or secondary role--LK says quite clearly that a woman who presents herself as a reward rather than a carrot has given up her power to a "shining knight" or king rather than use it to become a "queen" to take direct command herself. But then society has generally implied (like through Disney movies) that queens (or women with power--even the power of beauty unless it submits to a specific man) are evil and that women shouldn't embrace such power. LK says that women should...or at least Celine whom he seems to be focusing on, him wondering how life could be different had the genius that was Celine not abandoned her experiment, who would always be judged by her appearance rather than brain and skills regardless of whether she took advantage of it or not. quote: Originally posted by deepseastar: 3) Women who don't dress or act stereotypically feminine are somehow "broken" or less womanly.
More accurate to say that women who refuse to use all their advantages (even if based on the real world rather than ideal world) are putting themselves at a disadvantage, and that women have been taught to do this, that their beauty--or ANY power she holds--must be made weak to be pleasing, when instead it could be strong, no matter how "evil" society (men and women alike) might see it. quote: Originally posted by deepseastar: But I only feel comfortable in masculine clothing and would not trade it out for anything - it's not me (or any masculine-dressing person) who has to change, it's the society that judges their worth based on external appearances
I think Celine agreed with you here as she abandoned the experiment, apparently feeling acutely uncomfortable with it. Unfortunately, when she returned to her masculine clothing and did as you thought she should do, she suffered for it and found it frustrating, because the world does value looks over brains and talent. LK believes that if she'd kept up her interesting experiment exploiting her beauty (but NOT JUST her beauty) that she would've risen far and that a woman like that is the one who could change the world into more of the ideal that you think it should be than a woman (or a man) who stubbornly insists that the world must change and acting as if it already had. So what would you have advised Celine to do? To abandon her ace as "it shouldn't matter (even if it does)" or would you advise her along an alternate path, something LK hasn't thought of? (And how I hope you have something to add here rather than "it's not right, so let's shame the world which doesn't give a damn about what we think into changing." ETA: long experience has made me decide I should say there was no hint of sarcasm in saying what I hope, I really would be interested in a clearly thought out alternative, if you have one.)

I don't know if it's related or not, but thinking about the roles males and females are accorded, and that beauty shouldn't matter, I was thinking again of something that happened when I was 15.Long story short, I was homeless, and 3 tough skinheads tried intimidating me. They had the misfortune to do so as Pluto was transiting my Sag stellium (including Mars-Uranus, also sextile to my natal Pluto, in case that matters) and I tore into them with a fury. I was beaten and bloody, but in the end, all 3 ran from me (and perhaps also the crowd rushing up to see the fight). I was an instant celebrity and they loved to talk about it (more than I did), and yet I was still treated as a girl. Skinheads were mocked with such phrases as "I'll sick my girlfriend on you" as an insult to them. In contrast, one small boy won a fight with a large man (so big he was called "Grizzly") and that boy actually had to JUMP up to punch the big man's face! He was considered a grade-A bad ass after that, and given respect. Yet despite that I took on THREE guys in a brawl and won, I was not considered a bad ass like that boy was, rather the skinheads were seen as weak to have been beaten by a girl. Because as a girl, I could not be a bad ass like a boy. Had I been a boy then they'd have treated me far differently after I did what I did. And these people were fairly (even radically) liberal who were inclined to beliefs in anarchism, feminism, veganism...and yet I guess it was more of wanting to loftily dispense their goodwill rather than because they thought females (or anyone else) actually were equal. In any case, I could never be as good as a male in anything traditionally masculine (even if my streetname was Thrasher for being good with a skateboard, but then that was also an acknowledgement that such was unusual). If a boy did what I did then he was a bad ass worthy of respect. But as a girl, I still wasn't worthy of respect, rather it was the boys who lost to me who lost respect for being beaten by a girl. Not that I think they consciously thought this, it was more of a gut reaction that they'd try to rationalize after the fact, and probably weren't aware of their cognitive dissonance in the first place. It's just so ingrained that it's not even consciously recognized. And I think that's about everywhere, it's just this example in my life is the rawest form of it, but also applies in business, politics, and the like. IP: Logged |

@deepseastars:In regards to your suggested observations/implications of my OP. Well, I really couldn’t have given a better response, as PixieJane perfectly articulated my POV in reference to what I spoke of in the Essay… (Thanks so much Pix!) and from what I can see… She in no way misrepresented my views when referencing my opinion. The only other aspect I could add currently is that, try to frame what I said in reference more to the “Corporate Scene”, recognise the Game being played and yes in that setting… In conquering such a system as a woman… Using Female Beauty and use of Feminine Charms/Yin Energy is going to be 100% necessary! ^^Because those ARE the rules of that Game…! And as Pixie mentioned, “Daenerys Targaryen” (though I'm not overly familiar with GOT) is a good comparison of what a Woman will have to become to scale a Yang dominated Power Structure, ascend to the Throne and Emerge the Ice-Queen. Maximized Brilliance, Intelligence, Beauty & Power = Fastest Route to Winning! ^^Yet Celine ignored the use of her Beauty and was stonewalled from progressing forward in that System, a System where She ultimately desired to be a top CEO or someday even World President if possible (And She has the Intellect/Brilliance to be exactly that) And in reading both PJ’s & venus2tinkerbells’s posts in this thread… Life in general can be played in such ways just the same when desiring to open certain Social Doors and routes to Personal Power… But the rules are (thankfully) more flexible outside of a Corporate Structure, and while you may not like the implications of my Essay... Such rules appear to be the Natural and Unyielding Laws of the Universe when filtered through Male/Female structures of Yin & Yang Power. ^^I sincerely wish that both Celine and I had read this/my essay when we were in College, for we could have gone into the Corporate world with a Proper Plan of Action instead of just flying blind… Live and Learn I guess… ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

I'm just throwing some stuff out there because it seems somewhat relevant and it raises questions for me. I wish I knew where I could go to get an in depth look into this can of worms, but other than a few people IRL I don't really know.What starts it off is that I watched Sucker Punch with others a couple of nights ago...I'm glad to say it wasn't as triggering as I thought it would be, but then it was also more surreal from beginning to end than I thought. Which I'm sure helps explain why some feminists decry this movie as sexist while some anti-feminists decry it as feminist drivel (this is one of the reasons I was so curious about this movie), because it leaves a lot out there for interpretation. I saw this vid (saw it a year ago but it made so much more sense to me this time now that I've seen the movie in its entirety), and I liked the observations overall...it's all relevant, but I'm gonna start this where it gets more directly relevant with this thread: http://youtu.be/qQm1rBqh53Y?t=5m11s I also came across this (starting at the part that has teased my mind): http://youtu.be/eq9zoCFuKJ8?t=3m23s I looked up their early childhoods based on what they said about how they imagined themselves when they were 12 as I wanted to see what media they were raised on, but was unable to find it. Nevertheless, whether they take on the more "geek girl" (fantasy/scifi) mode or the more standard mode of wanting to be beautiful and sexy (with ugly being one of the worst insults), it's interesting that they'd be shamed for using that power, both by certain men and women...and (similar to the movie), the strongest voices that would shame them are both the ones who want to see women empowered (certain feminists) and those who want to keep women in their place (certain religious types, for example). I know it means something, but I'm not sure what it is yet, but I feel it's related to this thread in general And I also want to know how many females saw themselves like that at 12, because if that's much more common than I think then it begs the question of why that changes as they get older...and also sheds some light on why plenty saw me as a threat when I was a child. And it's not to do with vanity (where girls put themselves down fishing for compliments because one should be beautiful but "not know it/be a diva" as that makes others feel insecure or is seen as rather base rather than spiritual, and leads to plenty of "chick lit" where the heroine inevitably doesn't think she's beautiful and desirable but obviously is), but rather not shying away from one's own desires, nor about standing up for one's self, as I did against school faculty and a Baptist preacher to great scandal, or in the extreme case I mentioned above, against 3 skinheads, and I said I gave my ideas on why the other kids reacted as they did, but now I wonder if it wasn't because at some level even those who liked what I did felt threatened at some level as I stood up for myself rather than just being pleasing. Though despite that, magazines like Cosmopolitan remain very popular, and focus on sex and seduction. Indeed, it was because of a Cosmo mag with a big line on the cover about sex in the office with a woman exuding sex appeal on the cover that was at a woman's desk that I was confused about the office dynamics (*) which officially forbid any form of sexual harassment, and yet ignored it as a guy relentlessly harassed me (and I wasn't even dressed sexy, nor did I wear makeup at the time given what I was there to do), and when (after several minutes), I politely asked him to stop, he left and then I was thrown out of the office (granted, it was his sister that threw me out, but the rest of the office allowed it all to happen, and she didn't outrank all of them, which made them all, male and female, complicit in what happened to me--and in a much worse moment, when I was threatened at lunch hour in broad daylight by several men in a car, everyone around me that I turned to pointedly turned away to not get involved or even call the cops on my behalf). What that appears to me is that we're supposed to be sexy, but we're also supposed to be submissive about it, be submissive overall, so that we're desirable, but not threatening, not empowered. And...I'm starting to agree that such is a huge mistake.(* It was important to me because I didn't want to get my BFF fired for "making a scene" against the guy, if his behavior was expected. I've learned long ago that there are "how we say it gets done, and how it REALLY gets done" which facilitates hypocrisy that people take part in. So if he was right to do as he did and I gave a much harsher command to back off, then it could've hurt my BFF. I do think that if that Cosmo mag hadn't been there, a mag I know to be very popular, that I would've been less confused on how to act.) IDK yet...but as for the movie Sucker Punch itself...I've gotta give it props for getting me (and others) to think along new lines, such makes it transcend entertainment and into art. And another thing that confuses me...I've known people online to really trash Sucker Punch as sexist and all that...but later some of those same people then were excited that Heavy Metal was going to air! I didn't point it out at the time as it just baffled me (the very first time I saw a scene from Sucker Punch--I walked into an apartment that was playing it on the scene with the orcs, dragon, and plane--my first thought was "oh, someone finally did a live action Heavy Metal") but then maybe it was that Heavy Metal (that was far more objectifying) had plenty of strong male characters who had women throwing themselves at them (such as Den--btw, LK, you might like the Cthulhu aspects of that story within it--and Harry Canyon) whereas the ONLY woman (who was very objectified) who was a fighter in the Sucker Punch style also came at the summons of an all male council, and the scenes of her stripping and slowly putting on clothes that made me wonder why she bothered wearing anything at all really was objectifying--but those eager to see the movie don't LIKE objectifying, as they don't like Sucker Punch, but DO love Heavy Metal, and I'm like WTF? Again, I think it's a gut thing (like how those kids reacted to my beating up skinheads rather than going to boys for help), they FELT and reacted justifying it after the fact, but not fully lucid on why they liked or disliked something. And as that guy who interpreted Sucker Punch above said, it was a difference between exploitation and empowerment. IDK, it just baffles me, and I'm not sure who to talk about it with because this is more introspective than many like, and most people are too reactionary anyway. But it reminded me of this thread. The video you linked: You Don’t Understand Sucker Punch. That was brilliant, I completely agree with his interpretation of it, especially the section you said was relevant to this thread/my Essay. For that is exactly the concept I’m speaking of with Regards to Beauty=Power, the very crux of my reasoning. I saw Sucker Punch about a year ago (over Christmas last year I think), and it’s strange… I guess because of my views on Woman & Power in general I never saw it as Sexist, and to me it was about Female Characters exercising the only Power available to them which was their Minds/Intellect (trapped in a Prison) and their own bodies/Sexuality to gain as much control over their situation as possible. (Something I myself can relate to but maybe later Ill add more here… hinted at such in my essay) That when their choices became so limiting, the only choice that remained was in actuality, that which granted them the most power they could literally have ever “dreamed” of when they “Chose” to embrace it… (Hence the Super Hero Fantasies) and that’s the absolute key to the whole movie, that their empowerment comes from Choice. And look at the Movie/Fantasies that SweetPea/Babydoll create? They are first and foremost incredibly Beautiful from an Art POV, The Entire Movie start to finish is an absolute work of Artistic Brilliance that very cleverly interferes with the degradation/smut aspect that one would normally expect to follow suit... (Though even those sections which lean in “that” direction are handled with Visual Artistic Genius) ^^Once they played this Card, By First embracing/Choosing Beauty... NOW Power can be accessed by the Women free from the binds of “Exploitation/Submission ” (though submission is in of itself is not a bad concept… though is quite the complex one, which I’d love to talk about later). Without the Power to Choose to be “Feminine Sexy Or Submissive Desirable”, and instead having it installed on Women from basically childhood and through their teens… that such instances/actions in their lives are NOT Choices they can make… but are rather “Simply Required/Expected” of them… Well it’s this concept which destroys a Woman’s power base. And the world/Game has been setup to do exactly this… So it’s not surprising to me that the only truly “Self Empowered” Women I have ever known have almost ALL been Lesbians, because they seem to reject that “Initial-Cultural-Programming” that is geared towards Women not even having a Choice in giving their Power over to Men. ^^For what need would a Lesbian have to give her Power to a Man when she has little desire for them in the first place lol? Though in Celine’s case she fell into the next stage of programming/entrapment… “Feminism”, the aspects of such that had her further reject her own Beauty / Femininity / Sexuality because she was told that to embrace these aspects… is to feed back into a Male Dominated Society (Sexism), and relinquish what she so guarded past the first Gates of Cultural Programming. Her Empower-Self (Though was never really daring to use her Yin-Energy) Only to later be hit square in the face with the absolute horror of now being “Completely Powerless” when she actually tried to scale the walls of the Corporatocracy…. Because she didn’t yet see that she had further destroyed her ability to become “Powerful”, by buying into that Feminist garbage and truly halting her progress towards the sense of self which she desired more than anything….! Unless what…. she submits???? Wrong…! While she may have always feared such was going to be the case, the truth was that when she purposely Chose with the intent of Embracing her Trump Card (Feminine Beauty)… That she wasn’t doing such to submit, but to temporarily test the waters of Self Empowerment… (NOT Exploitation) On that Day, She Became a Goddess of her own Free Will! (Making Celine Infinitely more Powerful than Sarah the Sex-Bomb Secretary (“Sarah” from my Essay… because Celine’s Intellect & Purpose were set leagues above Sarah’s reach) Though it scared her so much that she had to abandon this because you can’t undo near 20 years of Cultural Programming in just one Day… Not even for a Genius like Celine was that possible! And she had only “barely tapped” the Pool of that type of Ice-Queen/Geisha Sexual Power+Beauty… (Though interestingly in Celine’s case she is actually a “Sun Queen”.. because Celine is so hell bent towards the concepts of the Lawful Good)… ^^Which is what ALL Men in Power symbolically are btw… “Sun Gods/Kings”. That which can do NO wrong and we love them for it… don’t we…??? Well History says Yes…? It’s also what most Political Feminists want women to be…! “Sun Queens…” (with their Visual Femininity neutered in the process) This is to make sure that nothing EVER changes should a Woman gain Political Power… And I don’t even know if Celine is capable of evading that trap… And this is also why a Woman embracing her Feminine Sexuality (how we culturally view such) will always be Demonized as being “Evil” (or the lesser forms of Evil such as being labelled a sl.ut…) when they Choose it for themselves… For society simply triggers this single line of code in their minds that was likely first installed on them as Children… Beauty+Power=Evil! And should they fall back and change their “slutty ways”… the trap is complete with the Formula of Beauty+Submission=Good! What’s wrong with this picture…?? What did Babydoll (Sucker Punch) discover that many Women seem utterly oblivious to (or scared to Death of) when it comes to their sense of Power? The Key perhaps is what the Actors said in the Interview… and what Pixie also wonders about (Me too)… What is actually going on in Women’s minds with regards to Power Fantasies… and what changes as they get Older??? (Is it Disney... or Sucker Punch?) We need more and more Movies as clever as Sucker Punch, that both combine Sexual Empowerment with Artistic Beauty in such over the top displays of Fantasy that it just simply jolts people into going “WTF am I seeing and WHY do I like it so much lol…” (^^And it’s Women who I hope will start thinking exactly that!) It’s obvious to me… The Title of the Movie, what it’s really saying to Women… (Incredibly clever….) Though such is to be expected from a Movie built of Pure YIN! ------------------ You can't handle my level of Tinfoil! ~ {;,;}

I'll probably comment more later (I wanted to mentally digest this for a bit, and also think more on the idea/realization about to be born in my own mind), but I thought I'd point something out I just remembered. I was reading a book on comic book art, and there were rules to follow to stay standard (and thus more likely to be accepted as publishable). One was that when making the good girls and bad girls, the rule of thumb is that the bad girls were to show more skin AND have bigger boobs! (It said that outright, with plenty of examples.) And though I don't read a lot of comics, I've noticed that to generally be the case (even when it seems impossible, like Taarna in Heavy Metal, in those cases there usually aren't any female villains!). And not only that, but also movies (Lara Croft comes as a quick exception, but offhand, I don't recall any actual female villains against her as well), heck, even in anime where it gets to the point that Rosario in "good mode" is almost simpering in her submissiveness who shows more skin and boobs when she transforms into "evil" and her common phrase in evil form is "know your place" as she kicks both male and female villains aside (I swear the succubus in that series was shown a bit less sexy after she joined the heroes as at first I didn't recognize her after that!). Indeed, here's the transformation (her boobs literally get larger!): http://youtu.be/KRlIHMLcQmw?t=7s Originally, I took this to be a relic of stories of evil seductresses (tales of Eve and of Delilah who took down Samson being ones I've heard referenced as a warning often enough even by those who aren't Christian, but Morgan Le Fay is another) played a part in shaping our consciousness this way, but that shouldn't affect Japan (and that anime I just showed the transformation in), not in that specific way anyway, and of course those myths and legends could've been inspired by something older, something that this thread is about. (Tales of fanged vaginas seem to be found all over the world as well, often with how those vagina teeth were broken, even among the supposedly fearless Aztec warriors!) IP: Logged |

That reminds me of a former member here, talking about high school. A boy she knew said that girls with larger chests just wanted attention. ??? Like we pumped them up somehow. I was always trying to minimize them - stopped wearing white tops, except for the heavier cotton blouses/shirts I had for school. IP: Logged | |
