Anyone have fears, irrational or otherwise?

I suffer from Gamophobia. I guess that makes me gamaphobic or a gamophobe.

Phobias mean things. They are symbols. It took me my whole life to figure out mine and I will prolly share it later but it takes a lot out of me to share lol

However, for you, V, I wonder if you wanted freedom but felt guilty about wanting it or taking it cuz it would hurt someone else.

Me too.

Might seem mean, but I also unfriend people on FB who post pictures of spiders and think that it's funny. It isn't funny to me, considering it almost always sends me in a panic attack.

When I was younger, I used to have really bad lilapsophobia. It was extreme. I still kind of have it but it has gotten a bit better.

Basically, it is the fear of tornadoes.. But, usually somewhat out of context. There were times I used to get so anxious it would make me sick back when there were forecasts even for normal, non-severe storms. To me, any forecast predicting storms of any kind sent me into somewhat of a panic. When there were forecasts for specifically severe storms, or a tornado watch, the panic was overbearing. I remember one day when I was in elementary (so I was probably around 11 or 12) we had a forecast for severe storms.. That day, at school, I threw up on the way there, then in one of my classes because the fear was so overwhelming. I had a hard time functioning pretty much any day there was a good chance of strong storms. Even on days where there were normal storms I would worry that it would lead to a tornado. xD

I guess it probably doesn't help that I've grown up in an area of the US that experiences a lot of severe weather and tornadoes.

A tornado approaching a wedding chapel with spiders scuttling down the aisles and a butterfly alighting on the chalice.

Collective nightmare for this thread.

ETA: A tornado approaching a wedding chapel would make a nice Sabian symbol, don't you think?

Nahh, come on..!

Fear is fear...everyone has *something* they'd rather not confess to. Nothing ridiculous about feeling the way you feel, IMO. Heck, if we could help it, no-one would have any phobias, right? So don't feel too bad.

Plus, it could be a deadly butterfly.
*It's so purrrdy!* Turns out it carries a germ that wipes out half the human race. (The poisoned chalice).

~ oops ~

xD. That WOULD be an interesting Sabian. Not sure it would be a very motivating place to have Venus sitting though. Hahaha

Omigosh, I love Stephen King too!! <3 He's a rare bird - how can one be so prolific, yet so *quality*?

@RTS -

I know right. Or better still, Juno at that degree.

1.Spiders. Argh! Their legs and the way they move freaks me out completely. And I have this irrational notion that they will jump on me and bite me... not sure why.

2. Enclosed spaces. I HATE elevators. If I really have to use them then I shut my eyes when I'm inside.

Ah, yes! That's another one. Elevators. I do not do well with them. They send me into a bit of a panic.

So do heights usually. Even being in a high building makes me quite uncomfortable.

I had a spider jump at me once. When I was a teenager. I am okay with most spiders now, as long as they aren't on me.

Tornados, fire - although I put one out.

Social anxiety was the biggest for years. Still can be, which is why I don't do well when people do their damnedest to mess with me socially, and disrupt my relationships.

Drowning. Being stuck *anywhere*. Locked in, buried, doesn't matter.
