Still, it's seasonal, plus the Day of Little Angels (Day of the Dead for remembering dead children and accepting them as still alive for one night), and all is coming up. I personally find it very moving. And though it seems a little too saccharine sweet, I've heard a handful of accounts I believe that I think something like this could actually happen (the angelic part, or however you want to define it--it's not meant to make a religious statement as far as I can tell, which I say as that seems to trip a lot of people up). I've found it well done and fascinating. There are many hints that lead up to the ending, from talking from a window across from the girl (seems like a contrivance, but makes sense at the end), the boy standing outside a crime scene with no cops seeming to see him...and he seems to glow a bit, which at first I thought was changing to a daytime scene, but now I don't think so. I love subtlety like that, the payoff is wonderful (for those who can handle the harsh realities which are all too common, pretending otherwise isn't going to make it stop). The mystery of what happens after intrigues me. But...harsh song, yet also very moving. Many people cry, not only at the tragedy of it, but also the angelic ending. I think that's enough spoilers so no one can act truly surprised or trolled by a song I sincerely share as moving and beautiful despite depicting a daily reality.
