http://yourfriendinspirit.blogspot.com/2007/12/in-depth-study-of-sappho-80.html

Sappho signifies aesthetic refinement; the desire to bond deeply with or feel the same way as others. education of females in the fine arts; emotional extremes in love; friendship needs; poetic ability; romantic and artistic sensitivity; same-sex bonding that exceeds ordinary friendship; the sensitisation of individuals to their sexuality; sensuality; the sharing of aesthetics, artistry, interests and values; and sociability. Inharmonious aspects to Sappho indicate difficulties in forming close friendships; loneliness; problems in expressing or understanding love and sexuality; and trouble in balancing of intimacy needs with other areas of the personality. Sappho's natal sign placement shows what the individual does for or with close friends; while its natal house placement shows what he or she most needs to share. In synastry, Sappho highlights sensual and sexual attractions. Transits involving Sappho highlight common ground between people and accentuate interaction with close friends. The glyph for Sappho represents linked Venuses. Key words: passionate, sexual attraction, artistic, genuine appreciation, poetic.

Three artists (actors / singers) that really left an impression on me have their Sappho on my Moon.

Another one`s Sappho conjuncts my Eros exact and opposes my Sun/Moon-mp (so there is still a connection to lunar symbolism).

my own Sappho is in Libra in 10th house

Very interesting.

I'm checking synastry with my current interest and his sappo is opposite my moon.

Our sapphos are as well squared.

Now I have read in two sources that Sappho is indicative of strong sexual attraction (usually combined with work / aestheticts)

Sappho is a very strong sexual desire asteroid! There is an old thread where we all discussed it. I think it was DD's thread. (I wish it was easier to search for old threads.)

In my natal I have:
Sappho conjunct Lust conjunct ASC

In his natal, he has:
Sappho conjunct Sun/IC

My Sappho/Lust falls into his 8th house
His Sappho falls into my 7th house

In synastry:
His Sappho squares my Eros
His Sappho conjuncts my Karma
My Sappho conjuncts his Karma

In the composite:
Sappho conjunct Hera/Karma in the 8th house

Wow, Vig, look at that Sappho/Karma, and tied to the goddess of marriage!

I really should check out Sappho more often, everytime I do I am fascinated.

Sappho is conjunct my DNA and Musa and Kassandra in 10th house, opposing Chiron exactly and squaring Eros/Vertex in Cancer and also squaring Sun/moon-mp in Capricorn.
The degrees are all between 20-22 degrees!

Looking at some synastry:

withPatrick:

my Sappho is conjunct his Pluto-Spirit-conjunction
his Sappho is conjunct my Moon,
trine my Aphrodite exact
trine my Karma-Kaali-Inannen-Astarte

composite:
Sappho conjunct Mercury conjunct Neptune (0-1)
Sappho sextile Pluto

with your Past life dad :

my Sappho widely trines his Sappho
his Sappho conjuncts my Moon precisely,
trines my Karma

composite:
Sappho only 2 degrees of the position it has in the first composite!

Sappho sextile Sun
Sappho square DNA
(not that strong I guess)

with A:
my Sappho squares his Sappho
his Sappho conjuncts my Eros and Vertex,
opposes my Sun/Moon-mp,
squares my DNA
squares my Chiron

composite:
Sappho square Pyche exact
Sappho trine Venus

(makes sense that those two composites are not so strong in that regard)

with J:
my Sappho conjuncts his Uranus
his Sappho conjuncts my Moon,
trines my Aphrodite
trines my Karma-Kaali-Inannen-Astarte

composite:
Sappho is exactly on the degree between the first two composites!
Sappho has been on 17 SAg in first, on 19 Sag in second, on 18 Sag in this one. What were the chances I would randomly pick composites with such similiar Sappho-placements?

Sappho widely conjunct Moon and Mercury (4)
Sappho square Karma exact
Sappho trine Chiron

See what I mean about a possible pattern?

My natal Sappho conjuncts my Venus with 50 minutes of arc applying in the 2nd house in Libra so its like an overdose of Venus only I'm pretty autistic when it comes to people touching me.
My girl friends in the hostel find it funny that I'm so averse to them hugging and kissing my cheek. But I'm pretty creative and have made peace with my feminine energies unlike when I was a kid and couldn't understand why boys could be aggressive and play rough but girls were supposed to be quiet, I wasn't (Scorpio Sun/Moon with Aries Mars, go figure)

FrozenQueen, you just gave me a good idea about myself. I absolutely hate when people try to touch me and hate kisses on cheeks, it feels like a gross violation of my private space. Is it a sign of being autistic?

This is WIKI

Sappho's poetry centers on passion and love for various personages and both genders. The word lesbian derives from the name of the island of her birth, Lesbos, while her name is also the origin of the word sapphic; both words were only applied to female homosexuality beginning in the 19th century.[20][21] The narrators of many of her poems speak of infatuations and love (sometimes requited, sometimes not) for various females, but descriptions of physical acts between women are few and subject to debate.[22][23] Whether these poems are meant to be autobiographical is not known, although elements of other parts of Sappho's life do make appearances in her work, and it would be compatible with her style to have these intimate encounters expressed poetically, as well. Her homoerotica should be placed in the seventh century (BC) context. The poems of Alcaeus and later Pindar record similar romantic bonds between the members of a given circle.[24]

While those who have autism do show aversion to being touched or having their private space invaded, the opposite is not true. Basically, just cause you're not to keen to let someone touch you doesn't mean you're autistic.

Lonake, I know, though it beats me why it would be sitting right on top of my Venus

Actually a prominent Sappho may relate to being a lesbian. I just looked at a close friend of mine who is a lesbian and her Sappho is conjunct her Sun and Mars in Sag. And Sappho is also square her Pluto, lending to the more erotic...

My Sappho is in Scorpio, 4th house, conjunct Jupiter. No other major aspects..I wonder on that one....All the women who've been attracted to me have been rather dark.

Ami!!!!!

I can't explain how many wiseass jokes I feel like cracking at your expression(figuratively).

No offense intended or implied but seriously...that smilie was so awesome!!!

edit: Lonake, I don't usually get along well with other women, dunno, no aspects to Sappho, though it could be the square to my Ascendant: you know, women get intimidated or feel an aversion to the way I project myself.

P.S. I think I should stop asking questions and answering them myself but seeing the question typed out does help in visualising the solution
