10 Hygiea Astronomical Symbol.svg HygieaThis asteroid was the 10th discovered and is fourth in size ranking. In mythology Hygeia was the feminine part and the consort of Asclepios, the Greek god of medicine and a mythological healer strongly connected to the Solar cult of Apollo. It seems that Hygiea rules the health practices and is integrated into medical astrology, but in her negative side has something to bring in cases of depression & anxiety of a higher level than usual. The status of Hygiea is practically unknown at the moment in western astrology ------------------

This may predispose you to Depression. I wonder who has it in a key place like Mercury.

Every client of mine who has strong Hygiea has mastered at least a Reiki Protocol for healing, and in general are most receptive to alternative therapy including homeopathy.One amazing chap has 3-4 Hygiea aspects and he is a Chinese Herbalist in Scotland even though an Iraqi by birth. Imagine that. The rare ones with Reiki aspect Atlantis recalled mostly in their childhood dreams of being healers in temples with crystals. If anyone has REIKI conjunct HYGIEA will be kick as& healers with any attunment or protocol. Those who have Hygiea conjunct Kaali or SIva can be very good with Ayurveda or Yoga based healing. Hygiea conjunct Merlin will be magical healers or succeed with manifestation or even white magic incantations. Hygiea conjunct Logos will heal hearts, Hygiea conjunct Anubis will heal departed Souls.
Hygiea conjunct Ganesa folk might be good with Amulets especially using Vedic inscriptions.
Hygiea conjunct China = Chines Medicine. Hygiea conjunct Arabia = Unani Medicne or Arabic Amulets. To investigate further, look at the body part ruled by the Sign Hygiea is in. That could be the healthiest in one's body or will easily heal. [Unless Mr Saturn is afflicting that Sign ] Asteroid APOLLO 1862 must be studied along with Hygiea. As well as Aesculapia [1027] and Panacea. The great Brazilian psychic healer/surgeon Jose Arigo has NN conjunct Hygiea and Aesculapia trine Mars. He also has Panacea conjunct Aesculapia. Perfect aspects for being a psychic healer. Arigo was finished off in a car accident when imprisoning did not work, as he was healing prisoners! Today, Tr Sun conjuncts my Apollo and I am writing about Hygiea and Medical Asteroids  ------------------

For some odd reason, I never thought my hygeia was in a prominent position, but looking at it, it's opposed logos/nessus, sextile panacea, trine imhotep, and aesculapia is trine my karma. Apollo is trine neptune/merc/vertex. I've always wanted to be a healer.Thanks for the info about logos/hygeia. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I have suffered badly with depression in the past, though thankfully not bad in the last few years. I think because of the sag influence, I tend to 'smile it away' around other people.Health-wise, I go from one extreme to the other. I'll either eat well, take plenty of exercise, or eat quite badly and veg out, lol! Are these typical Hygiea influences then? IP: Logged |

Great topic. For some reason, I decided to look up hygiea in my mother's chart first. It looks like she's got a grand trine of hygiea conjunct atlantis in libra trine aesculpia in aquarius trine merlin conjunct venus/sun/saturn in gemini. My intuition is telling me that she must have been a healer/priestess in Atlantis and I may have known her there (my dna conjuncts her hygiea in libra). Her sabian symbol for hygiea is three mounts of knowledge on a philosopher's head. I don't have anything really special in my chart with respect to hygiea. My hygiea conjuncts aura in gemini in my chart but that's it. I do however have aesculpia conjunct logos conjunct mercury/sun in leo. Merlin is also conjunct reiki (my dad's chart has this too!) Bumping to add that I've been a Reiki master for 9 years and I have experience in many other energy healing modalities. When healing, being healed, or even meditating, I tend to feel the energy very strongly and spasm (which can be embarrassing). Even just sitting, and relaxing, many times a day feel energy going up my spine and I spasm. Weird, I know. I have: Hygiea: 19 Scorpio
Kaali - 18 Scorpio
Merlin - 16 Scorpio
Reiki - 15 Scorpio
Anubis - 13 Scorpio This sextiles Aesculapia at 19 Cap Panacea conjunct Sun by 2.5 degrees.

I'm gonna take the 'depression' connection with a grain of salt because out of all the years I've looked into astrology, that's the first time I've ever heard that association made. I've definitely read the things about it being associated with hygiene (which is pretty obvious from the name) and the medical field though.Mine is in Cancer, sixth house, conjunct Mars, sextile Venus, and square my Part of Fortune. It also makes a semi-sextile to my sun. No WONDER I've wanted to go into medicine off and on, for years now and have this borderline adoration of doctors. Kaali quintiles my Mars.
Panacea sextiles Mercury, trines my Jupiter-Saturn conjunction and trines my Ascendant.
Aesculapia does nothing really other than square my Uranus.
Reiki trines my Moon-Pluto conjunct and opposes my Neptune.
Apollo conjuncts the sun and trines Neptune.
Merlin conjuncts Mars and squares my Jupiter-Saturn conjunction.
Logos conjuncts my Sun-Mercury conjunction; quintiles the moon and opposes my Ascendant.
Siva conjuncts my Venus; squares Neptune and trines Chiron. Merlin conjuncts Hygeia and quintiles Kaali.
Logos conjuncts Apollo.
Anubis conjuncts Mars, sextiles Venus,sextiles Siva,quintiles Kaali,conjuncts Hygeia and conjuncts Merlin.

My Hygeia is on my MC, in cancer
It makes a 1- 2 degree kite with
8th house taurus Atlantis
12th house virgo Sphinx
4th house cap Bless on my ICIt also makes a 0-2 degree grand trine with
2nd house scorp Uranus/Kaali/Pandora/Minerva/Pythia/Lilith(1181)
5th house pisces Amor Aqua Merlin, Reiki, Circe and Spirit are conjunct 0-2 degree they all are inconjunct Hygeia. I have virgo Ganesa, Aesculapia, Dejanira, Moon, 0-2 degree and Child conjunct 0-3 degree in my 12th house.
Aries Panacea conjunct BM Lilith in a kite with- 0-2 degree

Ok, I learned something...so it's only the Sun that can combust. It combusts planets because of it's heat. I'd always though the Moon could do the same but it can't because it's not hot enough, not are the planets.
