Acacia : it corresponds to what I am.

DonCarpenter : I love the "carpenter" job. My grandfather was a carpenter, that's why too.

Lafontaine : french poet. I never really read his poems because I don't really like poems in general, but I find that his poems look beautiful, I like his writing style.

Borodin : I like one of his compositions, but I don't really know this russian compositor.

and a few more

Indeed, I think that asteroids discovered the day of our birth, have a special influence on us.

edit : I misunderstood the game. maybe knowing the asteroids discovered the date of our birth is interesting too.

to play this game :

Pallas
Juno
Pilcher

I'm quite freaked out by it's being exactly conjunct my sun by about 9 or 10 minutes of orb. I used to get lots of information when I was younger, telling me that I was Sumerian. Most of it I've forgotten and haven't thought about for many years. I suppose I disregarded it. Need to go and read up about this civilization, and see if the connection to it has become relevant in my life in some way once again.

**84=klio..named after Clio**
What an odd coincidence that's my name. It's also a 'historical' reference in the sense that it was the name of a beloved sister of my dad's whom he lost when he was very young (she too was an infant). My Grandma and dad had loved her dearly, and I felt quite a responsibility to live up to this name and do right by her, though of course I never met her.

actually  it's  not right in as it seemed it was. (deleted) ..
Must had been another chart. My Sumerian asteroid is cnj w/Jack Parson's ~ JPL.
The exact I found was a sextile w/ my Mercury (Thoth).
(4) cnj Sun
(1) cnj Moon
(0)  cnj Venus /lucifer

Hebe "youth, server of ambrosia"
Pallas "war, wisdom, crafts"
Panopeae "all seeing" a sea nymphess
Iris 7. "of the rainbow, divine messenger"

I find this rather fascinating! I'm a Virgin, a Wh0re, a Spring Goddess and a Judge equipped with dangerous knives. Sounds about right, I'd say! I have many layers lol

VESTA (4) was the Goddess of Hearth & Home. 🔥 We all know her brilliance.

EUNOMIA (15) was the Goddess of Good Order & Lawful Conduct. 👍🏾 She was associated with the internal stability of a state, including the enactment of good laws and the maintenance of civil order. She was also the spring-time goddess of green pastures. Eunomia was one of the Horai (Horae), goddesses of the seasons & the keepers of the gates of heaven. 🦋

PLAUT (1986) is from Middle Low German plaut 'short and broad bayonet', or 'blunt knife', hence a nickname for a heavy, clumsy fellow or a lout. 💪

SEMELE THYONE (86) was the mother of Dionysos and the Goddess of the Bacchic Frenzy which seized female devotees of the god during the Orgies. 👄

This will be a long 'un. I apologize in advance.

8 Flora
5 Astraea
1977 Shura

I had an Iris Asteroids Report done for myself some months ago, so I'll include excerpts for Flora and Astraea. It was quite intriguing. I'm only including the delineations for the aspects with the major planets and angles. If you'd like to see what the aspects to other asteroids in the report are, I can add those later.
(orb = 3 deg)

Flora - Lady of all things that flower and flourish

"Flora was one of the loveliest of the Classical goddesses, and her namesake asteroid also has a lovely energy. In the mythic tradition, Flora was a Roman deity; she was the goddess of the fertile season of spring, and patroness of all things budding and flowering. Her name has passed into biological parlance, as "flora" is given now to encompass the entire plant kingdom. Her asteroid bestows her graces and generosity upon the horoscope in sweet and gently powerful ways. Astrologically, the divine archetype Flora shows whatever has come into bloom, whatever is flourishing. She acts to enhance the energies of the other planetary archetypes she contacts, and brings them into a bright, full-flowering strength.

Whilst essentially benign in her action, Flora's ability to activate and stimulate the energies of other planets sometimes means they flourish unchecked, so that instead of manifesting as (metaphorically) lovely flowers they may look or feel more like rampant weeds! Flora usually adds a graceful strength wherever she goes. She doesn't swagger and bluster like so many of the god archetypes, but in her own sweet quiet way she points to areas of the horoscope which have a kind of divine favor and blessing. In more material terms this means she shows areas of improved capacity, and often shows things that give us particular pleasure.

In some ways Flora is like a purified Venus in the chart. She adds beauty and charm, but the quality of her energy is mostly untroubled by Venus's strong desires and attachments. Flora is like a seal of goodwill and protection. She helps you along, gives you subtle inspiration and encouragement, and ultimately shows you where many of your greatest strengths and talents lie. She helps you to "be yourself", whatever that means, and to find and make the most of your natural gifts."

10Cap7 - "There's something quite serious about you, which can make you into a solemn little owl or give you the appearance, even in youth, of a wise old man or woman." I love owls and consider them my signature animal. And I've worn glasses since I was 5. :-)

House 2 - "Although you can have no end of high ideals in theory, in practice you want to make sure the material base of your life is safe first. Then - and only then - can you relax into disinterested philanthropy." Yes. Security first. In everything. Then I can unwind and be as generous as I want to be. I'm a helper and a giver.

sext Ur 7Sco52 - "The thrill of the new is a turn-on for you, and not only in the sense of creating excitement. Getting into the groove of anything new turns on your talents..."; trine Merc 10Vir22 - "This energy is wonderful for enhancing your mental powers and ability to communicate vividly and (usually) empathetically.", trine MC 6Vir31 - "This helps you to find yourself in the right place at the right time, a great asset for success whether social or professional. Or even spiritual!"; sq Pl 11Lib57 - "You're a sensitive soul, perhaps very sensitive, and may find it hard to battle through life in the everyday world...True mystics have always been quite practical, and ground their visions in material realities."; semisq ASC 23Sco37 - "Remember always the maxim of Socrates: 'Be what you wish to seem.'"

Astraea - Lady of right judgment and integration

"Astraea was a classical goddess of justice, whose symbol was the balanced scales. She presided over the moral sense of rightness and good order, and the poetic tradition relates that she was the last of the divinities to leave the world at the end of the Golden Age. Astraea was then translated into the heavens as the constellation Virgo. These elements of myth give you clues to the meaning of the asteroid Astraea in the horoscope. She is concerned with the integration and organization of things, bringing sometimes disparate elements together and finding the common links that join them up in the web of life. She helps you to focus on detail and understand the meaning of the fine print. She helps you to work both hard and well, and helps you to become more ordered and tidy in at least some aspects of your life.

Astraea can also help you to become quite high minded, whilst integrating into this spacious vision an ability to zero in and see all the small things that go together to make up the greater whole. She can stir up a compulsive quality, too, and stimulate an obsessive streak. This can cause a kind of splitting, which is another aspect of Astraea energy: the goddess who brings things together can also tear them apart. She does all this, ultimately, in the service of wholeness, and reveals those things it is time to clean up and get rid of, so that everything else can evolve into a more perfect form. Wherever Astraea goes, you are urged to get organized and get your act together - and become the best you can be!"

29Ar48 - "No matter how quiet the rest of your chart may be, Astraea in Aries kindles a little fire in your belly which can build, with the right tending, to a steady blaze...You're not keen on feeling bored, and will bang around and make things happen if it all starts getting too smooth and predictable...You never say die - tomorrow is another day!" Boredom is physically painful to me. I don't need other people to entertain me, though, but I see myself as similar to a working dog - if I don't have something to occupy me, I will find something to occupy me and you may not like what I find to do.

House 5 - "For all that Astraea tends to wear an unassuming demeanor, there's a little exhibitionist streak inside you, or at least, a small voice crying out for an audience: you need to be seen and heard and understood...Even when you're operating quietly, there's something about you people tend to notice, sooner or later. You can have that most intangible of qualities, presence...Perfectionism is your biggest pitfall, and can stifle self-expression." Um...I wouldn't call myself an exhibitionist and I usually shy away from the spotlight, but people do tend to notice and/or remember me when they've only met/seen me once and briefly. And yes, I am a perfectionist.

conj Moon 1Tau5 - "You have a deep instinct for making connections, whether of ideas or feelings or people."; sext Jup 27Gem18 - "You gain satisfaction and inner growth from your gift for combining the small with the large, the little details with the big picture...You have a flair for bringing things together, and for promoting wholeness on many levels."; semisq Mars 13Gem4 - "There's a powerfully concentrated dynamic energy in you that may not always be obvious, but which can often feel as though it's about to break the dam walls."; sesquisq Nep 13Sag28 - "Although there's a sensitive, even mystical streak in your makeup, you may be a bit scared by it and certainly doubt the wisdom of saying too much to too many people."

Shura 6Vir21, House 9 - Sabian: "A Harem"; "Waiting to be given the gift of being ‘chosen’. Women’s groups. Working together and sharing women’s rituals or stories. Rising above jealousy, arrogance and passion." I have wounds around the feminine and have some trouble trusting other women. Working on it. I'm not a jealous person and I don't understand it - I just know that it hurts people and that alone makes me not want to be it.

Neat! Named after the WWII ("The Great Patriotic War" to the Soviets) hero, Aleksandr Kosmodemyansky. For myself, I've been studying the Russian language and culture since my early 20s. My favorite author is Dostoevsky and I taught myself Russian in order to read his work in his language. I wouldn't say I'm particularly a warrior, but I find my fighting spirit when someone is being mistreated, esp if that someone is close to me, or an underdog in general ("widows and orphans" like my biblical namesake).

The word "Shura" means "consultation" in Arabic and is the Islamic principle of deciding affairs by consultation with the community. I will link the instances of "shura" in the Qu'ran below.
conj Merc 10Vir22, MC 6Vir31; sext Ven 3Can22, Ur 7Sco52; trine Chiron 5Tau46

I got curious about which asteroids would be my time of birth (12-hr and 24-hr).

2:27 PM EDT - 227 Philosophia - why yes, I do love knowledge and wisdom and am always looking for more. I'm a data and meaning junkie. I tend look at things philosophically.
14Pis23, House 4 - Sabian: "An Officer Drilling His Men in a Simulated Attack"; "Responding to situations. The Higher Self training the Lower Self. The need for defense." The value of being prepared - yes, I definitely believe in it. I always try to anticipate contingencies.
quinc Sun 13Leo12; sq Mars 13Gem4, Nep 13Sag28; opp Merc 10Vir22

14:27 EDT - 1427 Ruvuma - Named for the Ruvuma (fmrly Rovuma) River in Tanzania -
on the border between Tanzania and Mozambique. Couldn't find the reason the asteroid was named after this specific river. Asteroids 1427-1432 were named after African locations, all discovered by S African astronomer Cyril Jackson. Personally, I think "starry Eridanus", the mythical river that flows from Aquarius' water jar? But that's the way my brain works.
22Vir35, House 10 - Sabian: "A Lion-Tamer Rushes Fearlessly into the Circus Arena"; "Faith and courage. Sublimating animal instincts. Control. Fearlessness. Professionalism. Training." Yes, very much me and my need to control myself at all times. Also my tendency to rush in when others are in trouble - I used to just blame my Leo Sun for that. :-)
sext ASC 23Sco37; semisq Ur 7Sco52

@athenegoddess

There's a neat document linked near the end of my post - Catalogue of Minor Planet Names and Discovery Circumstances. Here's what it says about (1988) Delores:

quote:

1952 SV. Discovered 1952 Sept. 28 at the Goethe Link Observatory at Brooklyn, Indiana.

Named in honor of Mrs. Delores Owings, who
has worked diligently in the minor planet program of Indiana University, first as a co-worker with Dr. T. Gehrels {see planet {1777)} in the absolute magnitude determinations and then as the supervisor
of all plate measurements for accurate positions.
(M 4190)

Name proposed by Paul Herget, Director of the
Minor Planet Center

Found a blog post from a former IU student who worked with her: Asteroid (1988) Delores - also has info re the asteroid.

Delores Owings was a staff member at Indiana University Astronomy in the Asteroid Program, she eventually became the supervisor of astrometric measurements on photographic plates (measuring and photographic asteroid positions).

So, the meaning could be an indication of precision, esp when working with images? I'd think measure twice, cut once, sort of definition?

The Sun position for the date of discovery was Lib 5 and Mercury 3 deg away at Lib 8.
Sabian Lib 5: A Person Watches Their Ideals Taking a Concrete Form Before Their Inner Vision
Sabian Lib 8: Three Old Masters Hanging In A Special Room In An Art Gallery, Sometimes They Seem to Speak To

Hope this helps?
