OR, is it more important to be aspecting a natal planet rather than in the houses. I couldn't find much research on this at all.

I'm really not interested in the mythology, but it's effects and meanings..

I read somewhere that is could suggest parental neglect, which may apply. Both parents were self employed hoteliers and worked 24/7 and there wasn't much time left for family matters...

I have an afflicted Nessus (Sun and Venus conjunct Nessus square Pluto/Karma) and although I can agree with what you wrote about Nessus in the 2nd as far as the emotional abuse is concerned, I must personally disagree with the second half. I say this with quite a bit of experience under my belt in terms of working with my subconscious from a pretty early age.

Just my own thoughts and experience here, but I don't necessarily agree that an afflicted Nessus will *always* show up in outwardly negative ways. In my case, not only was my mother abusive towards me, but the girls on the playground were also cruel.

I think with any aspect or personal characteristic, if you become aware of it and work with that energy, it can be transmuted. So perhaps you are just talking about people who remain static in their personal growth? Or maybe those who live unconsciously for most of their lives? Just wanted to clarify what you are saying about an afflicted Nessus.

ETA: Either you added the "male" part or I did not see it before I responded. (Merc Rx?! Lol) In any case, I still wonder about these applying to afflicted Nessus across the board. It has inspired me to go and have a look at the charts of people (men in this case) I know well who have an afflicted Nessus in their charts.

I've had problems with stalker-type things, harassment at the hands of other women who have mental illnesses (schizophrenia), that sort of thing.

Thanks for posting that. I'm a bit confused though because I am sure that I read in at least one other thread on Nessus (there seem to be a few of them lately) that any hard aspect was considered to be an affliction. So you're saying that it's just the square?

I'm also glad that you posted the positives because this is one of those asteroids that seems to have all the focus placed on the extreme negative and I personally feel like there is light and dark in everything (and everyone).

I have natal Scorpio Nessus in the 7th (near a Scorpio stellium) square Leo Mars in the 5th.

Trust me, you are not alone in that.

In fact, my thoughts usually go a little farther: there are some men that can make the bruised-n-bloody, "I just fought my way here" look work like absolute magic.
