So I don't know whether to take this too seriously or not yet but I found it somewhat amusing.

Asteroid Ohno (5180) was named after a Japanese software developer but is said (by one astrologer) to literally mean "Oh No"! in your chart.
http://markandrewholmes.com/ohno.html

He references certain world disasters as proof but I'm not sure how seriously I can take it (partly since the thought of an asteroid called Oh No! makes me giggle - *not* the references to tragedies whatsoever (of course) just the name.

I found mine conjunct my Moon and SN and due to that, also quincunx my Neptune (Oh No!) And there it does seem to fit for me since my relationship with Neptune in the 7th is precarious at best.

Just wondering if anyone else can see the validity of this asteroid in their chart and if it happens to make an aspect which would literally have you saying Oh no!???

Nobody? Lol. I admit I'm not one for cutesy posts generally but I did think this was mildly amusing.

Still curious.

I've referenced Ohno in another thread about personal tragedies and asteroids:
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/001368.html

In my case, Ohno means exactly what it says! As referenced there, transit Pluto was exactly conjunct my natal Ohno when my mother passed away while I was 11 years old. I think one or two other people mentioned deaths in the family happening with transits to Ohno as well.

See!?! It's weird, right?? That's how I felt when I saw it in perfect aspect with my most maligned chart aspect. Kinda weird.

Black, That is awful. I'm so sorry. I am finding it odd that it seems to have some relevance, although I admit that at first I thought it was amusing because of its name, now I am seeing that really it might have more tragic implications.

It definitely makes me want to go back through some of my harder transits and see what it was doing at those times.

Honestly, I don't know since I just found out about it. I'm trying to figure out how much weight to give it which is why I started the thread. Does it happen to aspect your least liked aspect in your chart by any chance? Also wondering if you have noticed anything by transit.

I am so busy until Sunday but I'm going to look back through my transits to see if I notice anything later this weekend.

My asteroid Gemini Ohno conjuncts Ariadne in 4th house....i stole this from the other thread about her!

Ariadne fell in love with Theseus and helped him, leaving her family to be with him.
He on the other hand deserted her and left her behind on the island of Naxos.

While Ariadne is still mourning the loss of what she thought was true love, Dionysos/ Bacchus sees her and falls in love with her.
It takes some time for her, but eventually she returns his love and becomes his wife.

"I will never love again, and therefore in some sense I will never live again', cries the deserted Ariadne in Richard Strauss' opera. At the moment of her deepest despair, Dionysos is heard singing off-stage. She hails him as the longed-for messenger of death. But when he appears before her, she recognized in him her true lover for whom, transformed through her pain, she is now ready"

I was abandoned by my dad...havent found my Dionysos/ Bacchus yet tho! LOL

I figured, why the hell not?

It's exactly -- and I mean EXACTLY conjunct my ASCENDANT, only off by 0º03' --

... in my Twin's chart.

The fact that NIN's 'Head Like A Hole' happens to be playing seems oddly fitting.

'I'd rather die! Than give you control!'

No kidding. I guess I really am the worst thing that ever happened to him. He just can't stop hating me.

... AND exactly conjunct my Guardian's VERTEX. Which falls on my LACHESIS/NYMPHE and TISIPHONE/NESSUS.

His, on the other hand, is conjunct my EROS. EXACTLY.

Good God! So far, this point is rather uncanny. Functionalism for the win?

This is fun, good thread idea!

Eris in aries conjuncts Ohno at the cusp of my 5th which Transit Uranus is currently conjuncting..

I need to process this...

Eris at the cusp of my 5th makes me a go gotter in love and it generates some fun outcomes but in the end I dont get what my heart truly desires in the romantic department which perhaps can be explained by the Ohno! bc in the end I dont get what I want but is a fun ride while it lasts.

His Ohno is opposite my Eros! Really? Now, how could that be akin to a tragedy for him?

My Ohno is opposite his Karma. Yes, agreed.

My ex husband's Ohno is opposite my Juno. Very fitting!

The meanings of this asteroid seems to be muddled. I don't hnk we're seeing it right. Yet. For example, my son's Ohno is conjunct his gf's Cupido. Is he the one saying Ohno here?

My Ohno conjuncts by 3 orbs my aqua's friend Moon/mars and my pholus conjuncts exact his moon/mars.

Ohno I feel applies bc I am super attracted to him but I met him while I was involved so although I adore him; he is trouble for me.

My ohno conjuncts eris in the 5th cusp, I get what my heart desires in love but then I lose it; the glory is temporary. "Ohno I did not see this loss coming."

I can guarantee my EROS exactly on his OHNO has been seen as completely tragic!

Well ... at least according to his uber-repressed super ego. Something had to shut that thing up!

OHNO might be a bit more like ATROPOS in the sense of an inevitable, inescapable thing; something we can't avoid, no matter how desperately we try.

The child that comes traipsing along with the paper airplane and knocks down our carefully stacked house of cards.

'Oh, NO!'

Question is, why were we building a house of cards to begin with?

Perhaps it has a URA/PLU flavour; it clears away, mercilessly, with a sense of destiny?

LMAO........

Well perhaps intimate one on one relationships bring out your inner spark and perhaps you view relationships as exciting but something that also brings trouble to your life. Maybe everything seems great and then the relationship unexpectedly ends living you reluctant to opening up again to love.
