I was thinking about soulmate couples with multiple pairings, like:

Psyche to EROS or CUPIDO
Ariadne to BACCHUS or DIONYSOS
Adonis to INANNEN or ISHTAR
(A(donis to Venus or APHRODITE)

and for comparision
Venus to Mars or Pluto
(just curious how often these occur in comparision to asteroids, or vice versa).

the set of 15 celebrity couples includes:
1. Edgar Cayce and Gladys Davies:
- twinsouls in his own words, but not lovers

2. Edgar Cayce and Gertrude Cayce:
- soulmates, connected through a lasting love

3. Humphrey Bogart - Lauren Bacall

4. Johnny Cash - June Carter
- possibly twinsouls, but definitely loving soulmates

5. Paul Newman - Joanne Woodward

6. Robert Browning - Elizabeth Barrett Browning
- def. soulmates, possibly twinflames (the Jourdry/Pressman book had them listed as twinflames)
- anohter example for the healing power of unconditional love

7. Sri Aurobindo - the Mother
- twinflames in their own words; but as far as I know not lovers in the traditional sense (similiar to Cayce and his secretary)

8. Diego Rivera - Frida Kahlo
- possibly karmic soulmates

9. Antonio Banderas - Melanie Griffith

10. Paul Mc Cartney and Linda Eastman

11. Pierre and Marie Curie
- Jourdry/Pressman list them as twinsouls

12. Richard Burton and Liz Taylor
- she was referring to him as a soulmate in an interview not long before her death, saying she would instantly marry him again, had he still been alive

13. Spencer Tracey - Katherine Hepburn

14. William Hearst - Marion Davies
- extreme age difference (25 years I think)
- could not marry, but lived togehter until his death

15. Laurence Olivier - Vivien Leigh
- one of the "can`t live with you - can`t live without you" couples.

used aspects:
conjunction, opposition, square, trine, sextile, quinkunx

used orbs:
4° (2° for sextile and quinkunx)

as a matter of fact I think the 2° orb would be most important

10 couples in total

I must say I didn`t expect that. I always thought Cupido was more of a "player-asteroid", but at least in these instances here it is clear that he is quite strong and even independent from Eros.

Like for Mc Cartney, Bogart- Bacall, Newman. hardly lighthearted superficial affairs.

I suspect vesta-valentine, valentine-NN, or Valentine-Juno connections with some of those pairings.

Here is the story of Apollo and Daphne-unrequited love, actually complete detest of someone who loves and runs after you...
Apollo-1862
Daphne-41
I hate this story because Daphne sits next to my venus by 2 degrees!!

The curse of Apollo-
The god of the sun and music, was brought onto him when he insulted the young Eros for playing with bow and arrows.

Apollo was a great warrior and said to him, "What have you to do with warlike weapons, saucy boy? Leave them for hands worthy of them. Behold the conquest I have won by means of them over the vast serpent who stretched his poisonous body over acres of the plain! Be content with your torch, child, and kindle up your flames, as you call them, where you will, but presume not to meddle with my weapons."

The petulant Eros took two arrows, one of gold and one of lead. The gold one was supposed to incite love, while the lead one was supposed to incite hatred. With the leaden shaft, Eros shot the nymph Daphne and with the golden one, he shot Apollo through the heart. Apollo was seized with love for the maiden, Daphne, and she in turn abhorred him. In fact, she spurned her many potential lovers, preferring instead woodland sports and exploring the woods. Her father, Peneus, demanded that she get married so that she may give him grandchildren, as was custom in Greece.[why?] However, she begged her father to let her remain unmarried, like Apollo's twin sister, Artemis.

He warned her saying, "Your own face will forbid it." By saying this he meant that she was too beautiful to keep all her potential lovers away forever.

Apollo continually followed her, begging her to stay, but the nymph continued her flight. They were evenly matched in the race until Eros intervened and helped Apollo gain upon Daphne.

Seeing that Apollo was bound to catch her, she called upon her father, "Help me, Peneus! Open the earth to enclose me, or change my form, which has brought me into this danger!"

Suddenly, her skin turned into bark, her hair became leaves, and her arms were transformed into branches. She stopped running as her feet became rooted to the ground. Apollo embraced the branches, but even the branches shrank away from him. Since Apollo could no longer take her as his wife, he vowed to tend her as his tree, and promised that her leaves would decorate the heads of leaders as crowns, and that her leaves were also to be depicted on weapons. Apollo also used his powers of eternal youth and immortality to render her ever green. Since then, the leaves of the Bay laurel tree have never known decay.

I love such research!
I am also impressed with the cupido-eros-psyche results and seeing that cupido can be just as meaningful as eros! (I remember you had explained in some other threads that eros (greek) had been "split" into cupido and amor)

I am very curious to see how relevant adonis and innanen (ishtar) aspects are.
I had given a lot of thoughts to this pairing and am seriously thinking that they may be more powerful than what I had originally thought, because they're very old (aren't they the oldest "soulmate" pairing there is?) and there seems to be a very primal force associated to them. But I don't have any research to back this up , that's just how it appeared to me after reading their myth.

I have a lot of these connections with someone but i still question if they are a soulmate, i would think a soulmate relationship would be a bond you would want to, couldnt wait to form again...but im leery and i just dont trust anyone anymore! I see threads on how even the soulmates break each others hearts and im just very skeptical about it. Actually ive kind of been cold to him lately...i just dont trust!

We have under 2 degrees conjunctions of adonis/aprodite, cupido/eros, my siva/his parvati/kaali conjunction, all the poseidon and the different ladies conjunct or opposed in either draco or tropical..draco isis/osiris, draco opposed hera/zues...there is more but its stressful looking at them because of how i feel right now, maybe the timing is just off?

Gabby,

for my taste Poseidon had too many ladies to qualify as soulmate asteroid;
I somewhere posted my criteria for soulmate asteroids.
For me the others may be interesting, but do not have the same degree of intensity.

Now I understand that people see things differently, but so far my soulmate couple set really only exists of:

° Zeus/Jupiter- Hera/Juno (and not certain about this one)

° Eros/Cupido - Psyche

° Pluto - Proserpina/Persephone

° Dionysos/Bacchus - Ariadne

° Osiris - Isis

° Siva - Parvati/ Kaali

° Adonis - Inanna / Ishtar

(my criteria for this include divinity, tradited cults which incorporated the archetypes into the collective psyche/mind, the consummation of SACRED MARRIAGE, usually in the form of a cult/ ritual).

Adonis to Inanna or Ishtar comes up SO often, it is amazing. It easily beats the frequency of Venus to Mars or Pluto.
The typical characteristic of this one has very much to do with the cycle of death and rebirth (well all soulmate couples deal with that to a certain degree); but in this myth it is extremely strong.
I believe it also has much strength due to it being one of the earliest times when the Sacred Marriage ritual was being performed (Sumeria).
And it is the earliest findings we have on the ritual in form of an ancient Sumerian poem.

the other pairings, esp. the Greco-Roman ones, dated a lot later, and were already influenced by Sumerian myth as well as Egyptian lore. Those two together with the Indian equivalent (Siva-Parvati/Kaali) may be the oldest, them being such ancient cultures, and they may have had a very forming influence on the later versions and myths.

Ail,

of course.

It was just not the research I wanted to do for now.
we are talking a lot about soulmate pairings and I wanted to see how often they occur in actual synastries, especially compared to the planetary aspects, like Venus-Pluto.

Uehaara,

"(I remember you had explained in some other threads that eros (greek) had been "split" into cupido and amor)"
Yes, I believed that. I still believe that to a certain extent, as both Cupido and Amor are associated with the much older primordial daimon EROS (Amor and Cupido are pretty "domestified" versions of him in the Roman pantheon).

Also, coming from Latin, the word AMOR means: Love (usually unconditional love, could be romantic, but rarely physical), whereas the word CUPIDO means: desire.

It seemed very split in a physical attraction (Cupido) and giving love (Amor).

BUT even with all that being so, I can`t deny what I saw about Cupido in these 15 synastries, and it totally took me by surprise. I did not expect that at all and am totally stumped about it!

Especially since it was independent from Eros (occuring without Eros aspects) and it was not predominant in flings, but rather lasting, passionate relationships!

"I am very curious to see how relevant adonis and innanen (ishtar) aspects are. "
Overwhelming! I had a hunch, actually that started my research, cause they always come up in my own synastries, but I see it is not only me.
And Ishtar is just as strong as Inanna!

"I had given a lot of thoughts to this pairing and am seriously thinking that they may be more powerful than what I had originally thought, because they're very old (aren't they the oldest "soulmate" pairing there is?) and there seems to be a very primal force associated to them."
LOL

I swear I had not seen your post, when I wrote about the oldest sacred marriage couple (Adonis-Inanna/Ishtar with Inanna being the elder)!

YES YES YES

Ok, thanks! Just giving options! I was going more off pairings than life partners since really there isnt many in mythology that were faithful life partner's to another! I'd have to research that long and hard, but most weren't faithful! Except maybe Pluto and Persephone..maybe they are the only real soul mate pairing?
LOL, Id agree with you on rethinking Zeus based on that criteria, he definitely wasn't making any woman "happy married" to her husband!

Yes, I get that. And I think they all have their merits to look at, but I also think there is a difference in "importance".

About faithful mythological characters, yes that`s a problem. Though I read Zeus and heras honeymoon lasted for 300 years, that`s not that bad. LOL

Anyway, as far as I know these were rather faithful:

- Eros and Psyche

- Siva was faithful, too (Parvati and Kaali are actually incarnations or manifestations of his soulmate)

- Dionysos/ Bacchus and Ariadne

- Pluto and Persephone/Proserpina, though each of them had their "infatuations", but it seems they never broke their vow to each other

- Isis and Osiris: now that is an interesting pairing. Isis was clearly very devoted and faithful; Osiris did sleep with their sister though, BUT it seems she had disguised magically as Isis and then seduced him, while he thought he was sleeping with his wife.

I understand I meant as linking aspects ex. cupido trine valentine. Psych sextile valentine etc. Personally I am just not sold on the cupid-psyche pairing maybe because of the visuals; he's constantly portrayed as a cherub vs. his greek portrayal as a actual adult god. But I suppose Cupido makes more sense than Amor.

A 300 year honeymoon, WOW! I guess he is a charmer! Knows how to sweep a girl off her feet! LOL

I see what you mean about the pairings...I remember somewhere reading that some people do include Osiris and Nephthys as a soulmate pairing also...i thought that was odd!

I didn't realize so many had been faithful! Thankyou for clarifying!
I've always been fond of Pluto/Persephone because he saw her potential, that she was truly his equal and thats what he fell in love with, then through there relationship she grew up/into that powerful person. Ive always seen them as true soul mates, well, except for forcing her against her will to be with him! LOL, i guess all relationships have a down side!

Our soul mate relationships are our hardest relationships to deal with.
It makes you want to pull your hair out and run and run...
One web site describe it as sleeping with a knife under your pillow...

This is so true...

Thats part of the soul mate, having something to with stand, and some sort of struggle..
Some sort of learning experience guiding you to your higher self...
But we still have free will, and at times we are just not ready for these relationships..
Even though they are hard to pull away from, deep down inside you just want it all to end...
Why??? because its freaking hard!!
But I think thats the point...

Soulmate relationships are not we meet, fall madly in love and live happily ever after...
The struggle makes it more binding for some reason....

How do you know you met a soul mate??
You want to pull your own hair out
your frustrated
bonded
hurting
head over heels
Feel stuck
obsessed
want to run, but have to stay in some form.

IDK... my 2 cents

I wonder what the synastry chart for Dr. Moti Peleg and Ronit Rinat looks like. He saw her photo when he was only a teenager says it was love at first sight and decades later they finally come in contact with one another both divorced and ended up marrying each other.

Personally I think, soulmates come in all forms and colours, turmoil and bliss. Both are possibilities.

What I think is a common thing of soulmates is the "transformation theme".
No matter if happy or painful, no matter if they stay together for 50 years or just meet for a moment in time, this meeting will have an irreversible impact on both, and a transformation will occur.

This singer/ performer I`ve met and talked about quite often on here, constantly mention s a film as his favourite. "Once" and I think this film illustrates that perfectly, though melancholically.
