Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim. He of the awesome name if nothing else.

Renaissance physician, botanist, alchemist, astrologer, general occultist. Rather well-travelled (Middle-Eastern style regions) for back then. Talked about elsewhere on Lindaland in relation to Hermetic things and Esoteric quotes among other things.
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Paracelsus

"Man is a microcosm, or a little world, because he is an extract from all the stars and planets of the whole firmament, from the earth and the elements; and so he is their quintessence."

"There is an earthly sun, which is the cause of all heat, and all who are able to see may see the sun; and those who are blind and cannot see him may feel his heat. There is an Eternal Sun, which is the source of all wisdom, and those whose spiritual senses have awakened to life will see that sun and be conscious of His existence; but those who have not attained spiritual consciousness may yet feel His power by an inner faculty which is called Intuition."

"So I have been a wanderer all my life, alone and a stranger feeling alien."

"Poison is in everything, and no thing is without poison. The dosage makes it either a poison or a remedy.~~Paracelsus"

Also asteroid #2239 Paracelsus if you like.

Where's your Paracelsus and how do you see it working based on whatever he was? It's listed as a medical asteroid elsewhere here but what about the rest? Especially since I'm not up on my medical astrology at all.

Mine's in third house, 20'16 Virgo, conj my Hekate-Stargazer-Cupido.

The goddess of crossroads, night and witches with Stargazer and a physician-astrologer, I guess I move on the nightside for whatever initial attractions. Bewitching love at first sight and me then checking charts I could glean out of it perhaps... but how Paracelsus ties to it I wouldn't know. Healing bewitching love of the more linguistic and communicative sorts, and ... ?

It's reasonably close to my 16'53' Mercury but doubt it ties to it per se. 1 square my AVX-VX.

If going by the Astrodienst offered chart for Paracelsus (which may be off by a day or up to Dec 17th for his DOB) his 2239 Paracelsus would be at 14 Taurus. His Draconic Paracelsus 29 Lib R conj his 28 Devine. Hard to say of asteroids going back to 1400s.

EDIT: With the poison-quote, could Paracelsus also have something to do with seeing that we don't go overboard with something so that it does not become bad for us? There's the ability to go both ways with whatever it touches as per the quote but with his having been a physician, healing that (or through whatever is conjunct it) is the goal or aim?

"Paracelsus is credited as providing the first clinical/scientific mention of the unconscious." Something also for such regions?

Not sure if these are going to be off or say anything, but thought I'd list some down in any case.

Paracelsus was discovered Sep 13, 1978 by P. Wild. For the start of the date the chart/transits say the following:

Sun 19'51' Vir
Moon moving from 28 Cap into Aquarius
Merc 5'3 Vir, Venus 5'1 Sco, Mars 25'24 Lib
Jupiter 1'25 Leo, Saturn 6'2 Vir
Uranus 13'31 Sco, Neptune 15'36 Sag
Pluto 15'33 Lib, Chiron 9'21' R Tau
NN 26'46' Vir

Paracelsus 13'37 R Aries

DNA 8'25 Vir, Hygiea 24'37' Sag
Aesculapia 28'39' R Aqu, Reiki 22'54' Lib
Medea 20'12 Leo, Panacea 10'59 Lib

Hahn 21'50' Sag, Makhaon 23'26 Vir
Podalarius 12'36' Lib, Apollo 9'28' Lib
Asclepius 6'23' Vir, Hippokrates 20'13' Can

Freud 7'5' R Ari, Jung 7'11 Leo
Wild 9'49 Cap, Hermes 6'32' Sco
Herba 29'2 Lib, Helio 1'8' Leo
Karma 29'41 Tau
Iapyx 10'58 R Tau, Hypnos 21'5 Can

I'm not sure why I felt drawn to check Androgeos as well but it's at 12'58' Libra.

Poisson is French for fish, but closest to poison at a glance. Poisson at 17'49' Cap. Loosely opp Hippokrates and trine Sun.

At a quick glance it's Mercury-Saturn conj Asclepius, conj DNA, sext Venus-Hermes.

Grand trine of Chiron-Iapyx / (DNA conj Asclepius-Saturn) / Wild. Unconventional healing for sure with Chiron having been a maverick as well?

Venus conj Hermes opp Chiron, T-square Jung.

Paracelsus opp Pluto, trine Neptune, inconjunct Uranus.

Apollo conj Panacea conj Podalarius opp Paracelsus.
Chiron-Iapyx inconjunct Apollo-Panacea.

Sun sext Hippokrates-Hypnos + square Hahn.
Medea trine Hahn.

The first major miners of the subconscius, Freud and Jung are also trine.

Reiki sext Hahn conj Hygiea.
Makhaon square Hygiea.
Aesculapia trine Herba, square Karma.

So I guess the quick glance suggests medical asteroid action if nothing else.

Poisson means "fish" so the asteroid "poison" is about "poison" not about "fish". the asteroid "poisson" is not about "poison".
"poison" in French also means "poison".
