Mmmm.... Circe is my favourite enchantress .... And conjunct my asc.She gets a bit of a bad rap because of her penchant for turning men into pigs, but the way I interpret it is that she merely was demonstrating their true inner nature to them. "haha.... Let that be a lesson to you, you varmit sailor.....coming at me with your piggy lustfulness.!"... ZAP...."oh, how about that? You ARE actually a pig now...till you learn some manners" Yeah, I like Circe. I think Odysseus liked her too, probably more than that insipid wife of his, Penelope, who did nothing but sit around weaving. I reckon Odysseus made a big mistake leaving Circe and he probably only worked it out after the fiasco with calypso and his reuniting with his ******* wife. Circe did cool things with Odysseus other than the pig trick. She went into the underworld with him and brought him back again a bit wiser and alive... Not many survive that journey. She was beautiful, could sing, lived in an amazing island, could control the weather and enchant the woods and the beasts. She could induce visions and was no slouch in the sack with Odysseus... They even had some kids. And if she didnt help him navigate back home he would not have made it as he would have been killed by the sirens. Ok ... She was a little jealous at times, but overall she was a sexy, intelligent, enchanting woman who just needed a man who could keep up .... Then she was amazingly helpful and even selfless. It was just the ones who were losers anyway that didn't stand a chance. IP: Logged |

Nice and entertaining post. However I do NOT approve on the Penelope-bashing. As a matter of fact I find it interesting to look up Odysseus, Circe and Penelope in triangles. in my chart CIRCE is conjunct my Sun. PENELOPE is on 21.1 Scorpio exactly on 12th house cusp opposite ODYSSEUS on 21.1 Taurus with ULYSSES on 24 Taurus nearby.

LOLI just checked out the synastry with Mr Sag in regards to this: °his ODYSSEUS and VALENTINE on 19 Scorpio conjunct my PENELOPE on 21 Scorpio ° his PENELOPE conjunct my CIRCE ° my CIRCE falls right onto his Sun-Moon-MC-conjunction. lol In the relationship of my best friend,w here they met early on in life, but then were separated for about 20 years (!), before meeting again and finally being able to consummate their relationship:
his Penelope conjunct her Circe exact for some weird reason. lol
his Penelope sextile her Odysseus and Ulysses her Penelope sextile his Odysseus in the composite they have Penelope conjunct Odysseus on 14 Pisces exact (right on the SN and Antivertex) Circe on the Ariespoint

haha. I just knew I was going to get some flak about Penelope. She wasn't SO bad. I just don't like her because Odysseus went back to her when I think he would have had a much more interesting life with Circe. Penelope was indeed a very very very patient, good, virtuous wife. IP: Logged |

She was. And I think this story emphasizes the difficult choice between an exciting life our of societie`s norms, perhaps with an misstress, and the more reliable responsible one with a wife and as a family man. However I think both is of value, and the best thing would be if a woman could be Penelope as well as Circe for her man. Best of both worlds. Maybe it was a bit like the difference between Arthur and Lancelot in relation to Guinevere. She loved both, but one represented the passionate physical chemistry (though not only physical I suppose), and the other one a warm appreciative glow, with shared goals in life and ideals.
I always had a weakness for Arthur to be honest. Must be because he is on my Sun/Moon-mp and opposite Eros exact. lol

Yes you bewitch him; you distract him, leave him in a magical love haze, time doesn't pass when he's with you. You make him forget all of his troubles and obligations. Though I say this applies more so to hard aspects conjunctions, oppositions, squares, double whammies(including soft aspects as well) parallels and contraparallels.IP: Logged |

You know what is funny? I just noticed his Odysseus is quintile Circe natally, and my Odysseus is biquintile Circe natally. In the composite Odysseus and Circe are biquintile; with Odysseus conjunct 12th house ruler Saturn in 7th house, and Circe conjuncts Venus in 12th house (and squares Pluto of course).
Also just noticed that his Odysseus/Circe-mp is conjunct my NN exactly (3 degrees off my ASC), and his Odysseus/Penelope-mp is conjunct my Sun-MErcury-conjunct. lol IP: Logged |

I guess then this would be a good sign for me, to, with my Circe conjunct his Sun, Moon and MC. My Circe is also trine his true BML exactly.

What troubles and obligations do trust fund kids have? LOL jk but I do get the point! Circe conjuncts my Saturn actually, that's probably why I scoff at that previous point. You're right actually but it's totally the other way around. In this relationship I shouldn't have much troubles or obligations to worry about, not to mentioned I'm constantly being encouraged to not do anything which irks my saturn conjunct MC. Still cute gestures, I guess..

Well perhaps he is the circe in your case, obligations as in work, school, not sleeping naked nestled together all day when you know you have to be somewhere etc. IP: Logged |

Lol well I guess it holds true. I'd say look at the placements of Ulysses/Odysseus and Penelope as well. You could even up seeing some interesting patterns. Personally saw I have some interesting patterns with this guy: My Circe/Venus conjunct his lust/Jupiter oppose his lilith (asteroid) Square his Odysseus/Ulysses

Um... sorry to rain down on your parade here, but I love the story of Odysseus and Penelope, especially their happy ending, but I remember reading somewhere that in one version, Penelope's been anything but faithful. Anyways, I think Circe is the enchantress with a mirror (turning the men to pigs, showing them their real forms). I got her in Libra conjunct Pallas and trine Apollonas. Then I got Odysseus opposite Penelope (Pisces-Virgo)------------------ L'amour d'Aphrodite et un choc de beauté~ IP: Logged |
