This is an interesting little asteroid. People who love Astrology with a purple passion may have it prominently. Someone told me I have it conjunct my ASC, exact. It is funny that I was always jealous of people who found their passion because I never had. I had many things that fascinated me but not that I could live, breathe and eat. Once I found Astrology, I found the field for which I was created. Check out Astrowizard in your charts and let me know where it is.

This will be fun!

Loosely on my North Node in the 5th! And it's even in Aquarius, which ruled Astrology, didn't it?
Also conjunct King. Trine Ceres, BML and an important midpoint.

Ruler Uranus in the 3rd house... like, say, a message board? ^^

Mine too! No interest in astrology in childhood though, if according to Ami Anne the IC represents childhood.

The IC does represent childhood and also our heart and soul because it is Cancer's House and Cancer represents the Moon which is the heart.
However, I don't know anything more to say about this IC placement, other than maybe Astrology resonates in your deepest heart.

Would that fit?

I wouldn't say it resonates any more than it does for many members on this site. It would be interesting to find out how common this placement is. Particularly as I don't seem to have any other asteroid conjunct my IC.

I don't use the IC as much as the ASC and MC. They just stand out to be more and I have a better feel for them.

The IC seems as if it may have more meanings in terms of one's childhood home and one's deepest heart.

I would say that it could be either or both.

Mine conjuncts Mercury.

I've been into Astrology since my teens. My sister and friend text me sometimes and ask me to look at their chart.

Astrowizard conjunct my IC doesn't relate much with my immediate childhood. I grew up in a religious household that discouraged "consulting the stars." Here is part of an article from astro.com that gives a deeper description of the MC/IC axis:

"There is always a powerful ancestral 'charge' around this axis, and it is on this axis that we seem to inherit the as yet unfulfilled, incomplete, still to be manifested or resolved, destiny and calling of our family line. In this sense the MC/IC axis connects us to the archetypal parents which always stand behind or beyond our ordinary human, mortal parents. The parental archetypes, the male and female principles, are symbolised in astrology by the Sun and Moon, which leads us back to questions about the spirit and soul. It would be symbolically valid to suppose that the spirit and soul might be made manifest through the MC/IC axis.

For example, if we relate the MC/IC axis to the ancient system of chakras, there is a correlation between the MC, spirit, and the crown chakra, which relates to consciousness as pure awareness. When fully developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection and bliss. 'It is our place of mergence with God, the Oneness, the All.' [6]By the same token, there is a correlation between the IC, soul, and the base chakra, which, in the body, is located at the base of our spine. As such, it is related to our survival instincts, to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies, our ability to be present in the here and now. It also relates to our ability to draw nourishment and strength from within, through our physical bodies, and describes how we feel about being incarnate, about being on the earth. Tension here often points to a fundamental sense of insecurity, fear, or threat to our survival."

So maybe there's more to it than what is obvious. Maybe a soul inheritance?

As far as other occult asteroids, I have asteroid Astronomia (1154) tightly conjunct my sun/ascendant, and asteroid Stargazer (8958) conjunct my anti vertex exact. I eventually found my way here regardless of my upbringing. My south node is in my 8th house which according to one website, my: "Past life experience has given me knowledge of the occult, for which I have a natural talent." We shall see as I am a newbie.

Here's another excerpt from the same article I thought was important to highlight:

"As with all axes, the MC and IC depend upon each other, because our capacity to grow upwards will always depend on the strength of our roots."

Just another theory, but maybe it's something we have an innate (IC = soul) talent or strength for that should be nurtured (IC = moon = nurturing) and will eventually manifest through the MC.

Mine is at 23º Pisces, not relevant in my chart.

On the other hand, the Sabian symbol for my Astrowizard placement is:

quote:
PHASE 354 (PISCES 24°): ON A SMALL ISLAND SURROUNDED BY THE VAST EXPANSE OF THE SEA, PEOPLE ARE SEEN LIVING IN CLOSE INTERACTION.

KEYNOTE: The need to consciously accept one's own personal limitations in order to concentrate one's energies and to live a centered and fulfilled life.

Every individualized person is a small island in the vast ocean of mankind. The ego fulfills a necessary function, as it sets boundaries and gives a specific character to the consciousness. Within these boundaries a complex interplay linking and integrating the various aspects of the personal life can operate constructively. In time, these ego-boundaries can not only expand, but can become a zone of intense interchange between the inner and the outer, between the individual and the community, between man and the universe.

This fourth stage symbol tells us that the first duty of any man or woman is to be truly what he or she is as an individual. But this individual has a particular dharma, i.e. a place and function in a vaster whole. The island's inhabitants get subsistence from the sea, and in time learn to navigate this sea and interact with other islanders — and all eventually will come to realize their oneness within the whole Earth, which includes everything. An appropriate Keyword would be CENTRALIZATION.

Hmm I guess that I'm supposed to use astrology to learn more about my self and around me? That I receive bits of knowledge and tools from the "ocean" in order to "have a good life" (understand my self). Interesting.

Funny, why didn't I look at this asteroid before? It's in my career house opposite that darn 29 degree Jupiter; it's also trine to mercury/Eros/Angel/GC conjunction in 6th House of work/selfless service.

Jupiter is good, even in oppositions, but you may go crazy with Astrology, My Friend

It seems crazy sometimes because I can't make up my mind whether to pursue astrology or not as a career. I can't seem to identify with any one thing...
That anaretic Jupiter in 4H Libra and that unaspected Sun trouble me. It feels as if i have been retired for 18 years and everything i do has to be for fun (stay at home mom).
Plus my family doesn't exactly approve of astrology and in most states it is still illegal to practice astrology. I've read the law. You can get around it by stating that its for entertainment purposes only, or by being a religious counselor (ordained minister).
I can't get away from astrology though. Every time I stop doing readings for people the universe seems to send me more. When I look at a person's chart very powerful healings come through. I can't explain it.

Is that true, PS? About astrol being illegal? Shame! Then again in some states its still illegal to have sex on Sundays with your own spouse in your own home...

Jupiter oppositions can make one go overboard, but having read some of your posts recently I think you have enough other stuff going on to balance that.

I also have a hard time getting away from readings, tho I have definitely decided it is not something I'm willing to charge for., friends I have helped keep sending clients to me! I have decided to treat.it as a boundaries "issue"...my Pisces moon finds it hard to say no!
