Really? How strange. I've found it more a marker for eccentricity, and feeling as if one doesn't quite 'fit in'. It's also got a knack for navigating 'between worlds'; somewhat amphibious between the physical and more metaphysical realms.
MADHATTER (6735) is a fascinating asteroid. I've done a lot of research in regard to it for the past few years. It's in its infancy, but the results are promising.
Some examples:
MADHATTER conjunct ASC (2°)
Eccentric but genius personality. Known for being witty, original, and quirky. A bit androgynous, too. Cisgender, but not exhibiting the traditional traits or role. Unconventional and unashamed of it.
MADHATTER conjunct VALENTINE (0°)
The love nature is quirky, unconventional as well as unconditional. A romantic who's more likely to make clever and unorthodox offerings than the usual hearts and flowers in appreciation of love. Also shows love through being eccentric, unusual, and against the grain. A bit like URANUS-VENUS.
MADHATTER conjunct SUN (3°)
Prides himself on his eccentric, gregarious nature. Quirky personality with 'crazy insights' that become synonymous with his personality. Likes being different from the rest, and marching to a unique drummer. Similar to URANUS/MERC=SUN.
MADHATTER conjunct MERCURY (1°)
Wild insights; like being born under MERC Retrograde. Genius intellect with crazy leaps of logic. Fast problem-solver, quick speech pattern. Thoughts seem disorganised but are really just unconventionally ordered, and very efficient. Chemist by trade.
MADHATTER conjunct VENUS (2°)
Similar to MADHATTER-VALENTINE in that the love nature tends to have an appreciation for the unusual and even bizarre. Aesthetic tastes tend to the eclectic, futuristic, and a little quirky. A love of original movies with unconventional storylines and styles. Anachronistic style with a flair for fashion of many different eras. Costumer by profession (even designing hats!) for theatre industry.
I've even noticed a similar strength with the parallels and the major points -- especially lights. SUN parallel MADHATTER carries many of the same traits and expression as the solar conjunction.
That's what comes to mind immediately. I've got many more charts with other conjunctions, as well as major aspects. I'm investigating the quindecile right now, as I hypothesise that's where we might start seeing potential 'madness'. Not necessarily schizophrenia, or even delusional disorders. But a tendency towards escapism and chronological impairment.
Of note: two of the above are also schizotypal and schizoid personalities. I'm not saying MADHATTER could identify schizo-spectrum personalities straightaway, but there could be a link there. More research needs to be done in that specific area.
