I've lately been doing some reading up on fixed stars and using them to analyze my chart but it seems like alot of the descriptions out there seem kind of "outdated" and fatalistic.

For example I have Mars conjunct Antares which supposedly makes me a remorseless violent ball of infernal rage. Seriously, the only descriptions I can find for this makes it sound like I'm the reincarnation of Atilla the Hun. So far at least that doesn't seem to be the case. (Too much libra in my chart maybe?)

Then I have Mercury conjunct Spica which I guess is suppose to simply just grant good luck in all things mercurial, but my mercury is so heavily afflicted I'm not sure if there would be anyway to tell for sure, unless it can sort of act like an equalizer possibly?

The most interesting configuration I have however is my POF, IC, and Stereoskopia (566) conjunct Sirius. I'm not sure how significant oppositions are to stars but all of this also opposes the Moon, Neptune, Uranus, conjunction I have on the MC. I feel like this is a pretty important arrangement I have in my chart but I can't quite wrap my head around what it could mean.

I don't know what do you guys think?
Are fixed stars even all that important?

Scorpiosword,

I don't know too much about fixed stars I'm afraid, but I would say anything on your IC is going to shape you in some way.

I have read that SPICAs energy is so powerful that it can save an afflicted planet or chart area. So, your MERCURY may be just dandy if you can tap into this energy.

And the polarities of the conjunctions at each end of the axis will obviously have an effect on how you balance your inner and outer worlds.

Hopefully others will come along with some insights.

They are important. I think I have some articles on them. I know my own and I think they play out. Betleguese conj the Sun and Aldebaran conj Venus.

ScorpioSword,

They certainly can be. In some cases, downright define the energy they're conjunct.

Just keep the orbs extremely tight. 1° at most, preferably no further than 0°30. 1° can have an influence, but it may be more ambient than directly impacting.

Scorpiosword, where are you finding info on the fixed stars?

I am struggling to find anything of any significance for Arcturus.

Okay actually that explains Antares and Mars they're apart by a whole 3 degrees.

This site is essentially the sole source of all the info on stars I can find.
Astrology King and Darkstar both source from this site.

I think most of those interpretations were made by Ms Vivian Robson.

~ What can I say?
It seems like She was pretty skilled and even gifted =o

It's actually very interesting, the fact that she was clearly influenced by Ptolemy.
Aw! and... that ancient fella was... ... very accurate, (or I think so), anyway, that's just my opinion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~ So...

I don't know why do I get this deja vu feeling, hmmm... I guess I'm missing something... hmmm my memory has been very selective these days.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think ... that ...

When looking at some fixed stars in our natal.
• You should remember that you are more than only one specific degree.
• That some stars are not necessary linked to you, but to a cast/lineage.
• Or some past events, collective events, some Karmic Debts, Karmic REWARDS and a vast number of possibilities, because every single natal is different, of course, just as we are.

~ Why does anything related to Light has to be perceived as "Good" and anything related to Dark has to be perceived as "Bad"?

• Such "Black-and-White thinking" can only lead to failure when reading charts.
=========================================================================

- This of course, doesn't mean that you should be afraid of making mistakes.

- Because,
~ isn't it true that ... wherever you turn, wherever you go...
if you get it wrong, at least you can know
There's miles and miles to put it back together ! (?) ♫ ~
