Hello, are there any asteroids for "writing" (enjoying writing, and planning to write books) and also for "celts" and "celtic music" ??

I just found asteroid Bok, I looked up what it means and it means "book".

And is there any asteroid for computing, computers ?

Hi Arcturus!

Yes of course, there are various lists.
MoonMystic probably now has a command of those lists, and where they are.

If you use the "LL google-search" (put those quoted words in the search bar), it should come up with some threads we've done here already, in Asteroid astrology, and Astrology2.0. (I'm not sure about the Reference Library? .. You might want to go scrounge that forum a bit, then come back to list some URLS/links.)

It might be a nice thing, to have some of those threads linked up here.

I LOVE Celtic music too.

1983 Bok ... is not just a 'book'.
You must be more flexible.

It can be 'a place'.
A 'name' ...
(There's a Tower that plays a special kind of chime/bell-music organ, that has Bok in the name.
There's a corporate business building tower in Tulsa, Oklahoma US, that has the name.)

It's even a kind of oriental vegetable??

(topic) How to Cook Baby Bok Choy Like a Chinese Restaurant (Asian Cuisine) [1:41] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC6CiJtkqY0

Here's music from 'Bok Tower' (in Florida, USA).

(music) Inside the Carillon Room atop the Bok Tower (FoxNews item, Oct 2014) [2:16] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFKG79GjSmI

Don't take his statement that Bok Tower is the best, as final word.
There are many quality Carillons that play from towers around the world.

Here's a traditional Irish hymn, played on Carillon, at Yale.

(music) Slane (Trad. Irish Hymn) on Carillon [4:11] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4uLubQtAvA

The person for whom Bok Tower is named.
She founded a distinguished prestigious music school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Mary Louis Curtis Bok
- http://www.thefullwiki.org/Mary_Louise_Curtis_Bok

You might look up BOK on computer searches.
See what comes up.

Know what your asteroid placement is...
AND, read all you find.

You could find interesting associations to the word BOK relating to other asteroids you would have conjunct, or in aspects with other asteroid words.

Can give you a clue to the meaning, as it relates to YOUR chart.

Remember too... that throughout your lifetime, you'll be finding other ways that BOK relates to you.

You just never know!

AND, when you do other people's charts, they will be different for EACH person. Will be interesting to find out what it means for them.

You might even be able to give those people some 'advice' some time.

Have Fun!

Thanks Mirage,

Yes I am very flexible in astrology. What I am and what I think are not limited to what I write... I can't develop very much everything in english, as it's not my native language, and I don't read long topics in english here, too lazy to, as it's not my native language. I just forgot the idea that this asteroid could mean other things, maybe because I was happy to discover an asteroid that means "book", and maybe because I know there are asteroids that are nouns of other languages than english (german sometimes, french...)...

about celtic things, I found some things on google, but maybe there isn't for now an asteroid for celtic things in general...

Yes I know I can find threads about asteroids on this website by doing a research on google, that's how I knew the existence of this website a long time ago (but didn't really payed attention to this website, just to topics I found...)

I know we can give advices to people when we read their charts... That's one great thing in astrology...
What advice would you give to Pisces ?

So, Moon Mystic, if you read this, could you give a list of asteroids of those things, if you have one ?

Mirage : you know I'm used of reading that one asteroid means this or that because of the name (for example asteroid lova : relates to love, or...), so I do the same now...
Do you think asteroids "cook" and "strong" mean the same as how they were named ?

First of all, Arcturus--
I want to say how MUCH I admire people for whom English is a second language.

English is a hard language--
lots of strange exceptions to the rules.

My own grammar is not always that great?! ~oy
My own first language was French. .. I lost the ability to use it after my parents moved (when I was 7 1/2) and only allowed English in the house.
From time to time, I'll notice that I unconsciously slip into using French sentence syntax (the ordering of words and phrases in a sentence). Brain patterning.
I recognize many vocabulary words... Can understand simple French.
I just can't 'talk' it back at people.

So-- kudos for being here!

For cook and strong .....

I happen to KNOW that those are also "last name" asteroids.

Like this one, for Strong--
- http://www.eliyah.com/lexicon.html

I had been in elementary school with a girl whose last name was Cook.

(music) Mad World (singer Joey Cook; song movie Donnie Darko; on American Idol) [1:48] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9UEqUkLyZY

Stay versatile!

And it's ALWAYS okay to "ask" questions.
I had seen one LL poster say that her question was stupid? ..
awww.
NO SUCH THING.

It's truly a pleasure for me to teach other people what I know.

What do you tell a Pisces???

Ah all right, so french is your first language, so it's like your a native language to you ? You must talk french naturally, maybe... But you say you don't really.

Yes english is especially hard to pronounce and talk. Maybe easier to write in english than talk. I should maybe improve this...

About asteroids, I think that an asteroid can be at the same time a name AND a noun. People that have that name, Cook for example, are like "cook", asteroid cook and cooking... That's my opinion but I can be wrong... Logic of asteroid seems maybe a little bit complicated.

I understand, I think people should ask questions they want. We're allowed to ask any questions we want.

So your advice is "keep swimming"... Yes that's a simple but good advice.

Bok? It's entertaining how flexible asteroid lovers tend to be I'm about to be quite flexible too, because...

16254 Harper
Yes, the idea for the name has nothing to do with an instrument, but a harper is a folk harp musician so you might be interested.

When it comes to writing, I'd search for the names of famous authors and those you admire. I don't think we'd find anything that implies the things you mentioned.

So what does asteroid Harper relate to ? A famous person ?
Of course I could search for names of authors I like, but I would like to know what indicates my own taste for writing

Sorry it took so long for me to get back here.

I deal with a gnarly home atmosphere..
And today too-- it is still very harsh and I have a huge headache to contend with.

So, I'll try to recap what I tried to say-- although, it may be with much less finesse.

~*...
Arcturus.
I grew up with French, yes, AND!!!, it was "fractured"-- combined with English. They call it Franglais.

In front of my very old grand-elders, it was considered rude to speak English, and they insisted we speak French.

Church and 1st Grade parochial school was French. I had started 2nd Grade, where they began to introduce students to proper rules of the languages. The morning was French, then we'd switch classrooms in the afternoon, and that teacher only spoke English.

I think that is a very good way to help bi-lingual children learn the rules of language.

My father got a job. We had to relocate.
The US state we moved-to might as well have been a foreign nation to me. I was 7 1/2 when we moved-- The teachers (another parochial school) would have to take me privately into the hallways to teach me my prayers in English.

I remember a 'moment' in my new English 2nd grade classroom where I knew the answer to a question, raised my hand. The teacher called on me to respond. I stood up to answer ...... then suddenly I "REALIZED" I had been 'thinking' in French. I NEEDED to begin to 'think in english' ... I froze! The answer slipped out of my head. I had embarrassed myself terribly in front of a classroom of 40 new peers. It was hard-enough being a 'new' student socially. It was even harder being treated like a foreigner in my 'own' country.

That's one of the reasons why I care about people who are trying to adjust to a different language.

I kid and laugh at my own self sometimes, wondering if I had even mastered English well enough? .. awww. Oh well. Always trying to Improve.

Astrologically??? haha. I have an intercepted 3rd house.
Have Pisces intercepted in it.
Still fishing around for words and proper syntax in my grammar pool? LOL
'Keep on swimming, keep on swimming' *grin*

Funny Story-----
Our French grade school was on the other side of a government public English-speaking school. Our recess yards (where we played) was separated by a very high chain-link fence.

Students from both schools could see and communicate to each other through the fence.

I had a boy cousin.
One day I heard his mother (my auntie) tell this story.

The English speaking students used to holler cultural slurs at our French speaking peers.

The English would yell out,
"French Fries!! French Fries!!"
(to insult and be mean).

My cousin one day hotly retorted,
"English Muffins!! English Muffins!!"

hahahahahahaha
omg!!!!!! sooo darn funny.
"Perfect" response.

~*....

When MoonMystic told you that you are "sharp," Arcturus, in the more-urban meanings of the English language, she was giving you a "positive compliment" saying how quick, observant, and intelligent you are!

For her, she had other "knowledge" of what BOK (all caps) stands for.
You, described word Bok as a misspelling of the word "Book." (broadly speaking here)

BOK (with ALL Capital Letters) is an 'anacronism'.
Each letter stands for a word.

BOK = B.O.K. = Book of Knowledge.

That refers to an esoteric book, having to do with the character named Enoch, with all the mysteries and mythologies surrounding this Old Testament Biblical figure.

It was MY error,,,,, my mistake that I had accidently CAPITALIZED the word "BOK" instead of Bok .. I "should" have typed it as it appears in the asteroid catalogs, as word spelled "Bok" and it would have avoided ALL the confusion now.

~*

We were all on the same "family", literally:
The Bok family.

If you were to look through the info in the URL I provided on Mary Louise Curtis Bok, then you'll find that she had been MARRIED to a man named Ernest ....
and .....
now..... >>>>>>
oh my,
I see that you EDITED OUT your post?????????
It is a blank.

I should have Quoted your replies.
ok~whatever
--------------

Yes. The person you had mentioned-- the male -- had been married to the female-Bok. She remarried after his death.

~*...
For word Harper...
16254 Harper

I had left a musical selection, combining Harp with reference to Celtic music, first mentioned at the beginning of this thread.

(music) Tyrell's Pass (Traditional Irish Celtic Harp Music) [3:11] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLuuW-Tzyns

Oh I thought you were the one who told that I was sharp, Mirage. I got both of you mixed up (right sentence ?) as I do sometimes when I read quickly the username to both of you. And I thought that Moon Mystic's last reply was from Mirage also.

So, who is / was french in your family ? Grand parents ? parents ?
And what is your zodiac sign ? Gemini ? Or Aries, Pisces, Taurus, Cancer ? As your Venus is in Taurus... I still don't know.

I read the translation of being sharp, and I read that it could mean what you told, but I was not sure she meant this. Thanks, MoonMystic, I appreciate this.
Actually "read" in english is written the same way, so it's difficult to make people understand that I'm talking about past;

Mercury Neptune is a good "writer" ? What about Jupiter Mercury well aspected ?
I believe in celebrities asteroids too. Many things that I like (a comic, and some celebrities) I have them in Aries.
