Yes, we all know she was sweet, beautiful, vulnerable and innocent - a magnet for abusers. But if you look at the mythology you will also notice that her abusers come off decidedly second-best when they try to mess with her, despite the fact that she does not harbour any vengeful intentions towards them. Take Nessus for example - he lusts after her but in jumps her hero (Hercules) and she is saved without her lifting a finger. Cool. Then ... Hercules himself abuses her trust by being unfaithful - bad mistake as sweet Dejanira tries to make things right with an innocent little love spell - and Hercules gets more than what he bargains for from her by dying a painful death. Her revenge is accidental and unintentional in both cases, but highly effective, deadly and sends a strong message to those who prey on the innocent.
Did you know that the name "Dejanira" means "man-destroyer" or "destroyer of her husband". What I really like about Dejanira is that she symbolizes a person who can destroy her abuser without having a heart full of revenge. It just "happens unintentionally" as forces beyond her step in and do their work. If Dejanira is strong in your chart, people might want to take advantage of your feminine or soft side ... but there is a sting waiting for them and you don't even have to intend them harm in order for them to suffer for their abuse of your good nature. I know a girl who was a magnet for bulling.. i saw she has dejanira conj asc.. but, when you've mentioned a myth reharding "sweet inocent spell" - soemthing crossed my mind. Everytime someone bullied her she tells them something like a curse and always something bad happens to those ppl. It was weird, but no one tried to be nasty to her after one boy fell into a hole and broke his leg /day after he maltreated her and she told him: hope that you'll break your bones.. 
She also has some psyhic abillities.. so maybe other aspects contributed that her sayings often get trueIP: Logged |

When people mess with me, I feel sorry for them because I see bad things happen to them. I don't do it, obviously, but I do feel sorry for people who mess with me lol

I understand the point of view of the OP, and to a certain extent I agree, however I consider dejanira part of her own problem. She unwittingly killed HERAKLES, therefore hurting herself inadvertantly.Dejanira seems to me like self betrayal, being responsible, partly, for its own problems. There are others myths about total innocence, this one isn't, to me. IP: Logged |
