I ran into a nice page with a pretty thorough description of the fixed star Spica. I wanted
to share it here.

http://www.spicastrology.com/about/

It might be of benefit to some who are artistic or unknowingly so. Please share
how it effects your natal. Are you someone lucky with it in the 5th house maybe?

Including an older LL thread too: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/003569.html

Spica is in my 11th house. I've heard that fixed stars require a very tight orb and only conjunctions count so it doesn't touch anything, because I have basically nothing in Libra to begin with. That said, Spica's degree would otherwise be an opposition to my Mercury in Aries at 21'59 and I just happen to legitimately be the creative writing type. Even though the aspect doesn't count, it's still interesting to see that.

Aspects that would be 'an opposition' does not mean that it is a 'negation' of energies and meanings. Sometimes it's a bridge-- a connector. Not "badness" or wrong, in various cases.

Thanks for that url for SpicaAstrology (by Theo, UK), MoonMystic!

Sometimes when I read my old posts from previous years, I shake my head!! LOL. I'm not sure if I had communicated the thoughts as clearly as I could? … I try to put too much into one sentence? Need to slooowww down.

I have Spica conjunct my Neptune-rx Libra 10th with interesting asteroids-- AND arabian lots like the Part of Art on Neptune!
Also, Spica is near my Part of Accomplishment, Part of Fame.

Sometimes I do sense a charisma that surrounds me, that flows through me {anointing?}. Even when I try to be low-key during those times, some people say to me that I have a strong energy signature.. like having a comet tail (one person said, in my past). When I've stood on a stage to do some drama/acting, I have 'stage-presence'. Sometimes I feel so blind and awkward when the spotlight is on me {fear? haha}… but when I move 'with a flow' it is a powerful experience within.

I am a person that others pinpoint and notice right away sometimes. I've had strangers on the bus tell me my energy is very unique and distinct {and not in a negative way, they said positively}.

Am also super-aware of 'how much responsibility' I have to use my gifts in the Best measures I can.

I have been really really aware of being placed in the position of an instant role-model in my lifetime-- and that's not always the easiest thing? .. Lots of humiliation and humbling-experiences at times. *tears* ..
.. Times where I disappoint people, and even be a disappointment to my self?
.. I "get back up again" and I know that it helps others when I do-- helps *them* be strong because of it.

I have had musical gifts, have had acting gifts, art gifts (but suck at finger-y arts-n-crafts!! LOL}.

Gifts for getting myself into trouble too, without "trying" ?? I remember my junior and senior years in high school -- Wow! LOL. Won't go into the details here, but, as I passed the Principal in the hallway one day, he made a remark close to the saying about the 'girl with the curl' haha.
-- I was widely 'known' in that mega-size school. Popular for a lot of side-reasons!!!
Sometimes when you have 'a charisma', people want to target you unconsciously for their-own distraction-- so untrue.
-- That's when people who "really DO know you" step-in on your behalf, and help you stay strong!!
.. *haha, Nostalgia moments??!!! ~sheesh *

I choose to try to keep self on the Higher Road, and Share with others.

I have had strong visualization imagery gifts (even somewhat prophetic/psychic at times).

Astrology and spiritual giftings.
(conjunct 30 Urania, 250000 Astrometria,
193 Ambrosia).
216 Kleopatra too .. haha

It's not "just" my Spica and Neptune.., as Neptune forms 'generational' aspects.

Neptune is part of a semi-sextile configuration (forms a hood) in my 'bowl' chart. Oh. And I guess the 'house' this is located in counts a lot?

May add more later. .. Including songs!!! rofl

Isn't Spica a fixed star? I've read that only conjunctions to fixed stars count. I have not worked with anything but conjunctions to fixed stars and I haven't tried any other aspects with them, because in general, I don't understand how to interpret them. They seem to mostly involve negative interpretations so I haven't been motivated to study outside of conjunctions to see if other aspects seem to work.

Lerena,
I've heard sometimes there's a wider orb allowance. Idk know the truth unless we feel the energy in our charts. Maybe in a progressed chart you'll see a differnt side?

If your vertex is near it, that could be positive. The trine certainly sounds nice. What element?

Here's what I found about that.

QUOTE--
Aspects:
Robson (The Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology) says:

"The fixed stars operate by position and are said to 'cast no rays' or, in other words, their aspects are said to be ineffective and their influence to be exerted only by conjunction and parallel".

Some authorities suggest aspects to the fixed stars can be read, but it is only the opposition that is thought to be of any relevance.
The opposition may exert some influence due to the polarity, but the conjunction is by far the primary aspect to consider.

Trines, sextiles and squares should therefore be discounted.

The fixed stars are only to be read to the natal, and not to the progressed or arc charts.

More on Fixed Star Spica

- http://www.constellationsofwords.com/stars/Stars_alphabet.htm

QUOTE

The astrological influences of the star Spica

According to Ptolemy
it is of the nature of Venus and Mars;
and, to Alvidas,
of Venus, Jupiter and Mercury.

It gives success, renown, riches, a sweet disposition, love of art and science, unscrupulousness, unfruitfulness and injustice to innocence. [Robson*, p.211.]

* If rising or culminating:
Unbounded good fortune, happiness, ecclesiastical preferment, unexpected honor or advancement beyond native's hopes or capacity. [Robson*, p.211.]

* With Fortuna:
Great wealth, voluptuous propensities. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Sun:
Great and lasting preferment, eminent dignity, immense wealth, great happiness to native's parents and children, help from friends among clergy, favorable for public and legal affairs.
If culminating, Church and State preferment.
If with Venus and Mars also the native is a potent king obeyed by many people, but subject to many infirmities. [Robson*, p.211.]

* With Moon:
Gain through inventions, success, wealth and honor from Mercury, Venus or Jupiter people. [Robson*, p.211.]

* With Mercury:
Neat, tidy, clever, ingenious, favor of clergy and people in authority, gain through investment, responsible position. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Venus:
Benefits from friends, social success, false friends of own sex. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Mars:
Popular social success, may have good judgment and quick decision or be violent in dispute, rigid, and nearly or quite a fool. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Jupiter:
Popular, social success, wealth, ecclesiastical honor and preferment. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Saturn:
Apt to be suspicious, sharp or rugged, but does much good, occult interests, good speaker, popular, many friends, gain through legacies but extravagant, good health, favorable for domestic matters. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Uranus:
Mediumistic, popular, business connected with ornaments, gain through marriage, fortunate, sudden natural death. [Robson*, p.212.]

* With Neptune:
Well-born, comfortable surroundings, always sufficiently well-off, associated with companies, gain through legacies, favorable for domestic matters, somewhat fast and extravagant, does not live to old age. [Robson*, p.212.]

Didn't see your comment, Moon Mystic.
Thank you.

Girl with the Curl ..
Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme

"There was a little girl who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad she was horrid."

Well... maybe I wasn't that horrid!!!

What the High School Principal was thinking about was 'how' I got in trouble?

I became sooo incredibly BORED in school that I couldn't stand it anymore!! One whole week, I went to my homeroom, but would skip out of all my classes.

I went to the LIBRARY to "study"!!
I learned how to use reference books, on my own, like the thesaurus, synonyms/homonyms, and got into reading Robert Graves Mythology Book.

- http://www.24grammata.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Robert-Graves-The-G reek-Myths-24grammata.com_.pdf
{lots of asteroid names in this!! *Heart*}

Then in the afternoon, after lunch period, I'd go into the music bandroom to practice piano, till my final period Choir Class.
.. {From age ~13yo, I had taught own myself how to read sheet music and to play classical music on piano-- listened to vinyl records, then I made it "sound" like the record. Was evaluated later when I got into college as an 'intermediate' piano level. -- .. I mention this only for making testimony to the Arts/Music talent potential with that placement. Of course, there were other placements reinforcing that in my chart.}

They "watched" me-- so confused because it was "bad" that I was bagging classes, but it was "good" that I was using my time to study and LEARN!! (I wasn't going to the burger restaurant across the street, like the 'delinquents' were!!)

I was trapped and 'caught' on the last day of that week. I received 21+(?or more) detentions as a punishment.. basically, they put me on detention until the end of the school year.

I was revered and respected by both the "egg-heads" (straight-A advanced students), and the 'tough-kids' who got in trouble for disruptive behaviors and other "crimes" .. haha. I had the underworld-distinction of being the student that year receiving the MOST detentions!!

My own unique-brand of trouble??
I was bored!!!!!
