(17090) Mundaca The Sad Tale of Mundaca the Pirate
A 19th-century slave trader and reputed pirate, Fermín Antonio Mundaca de Marechaja fell in love with a local woman known as La Trigueña (The Brunette). To win her, Mundaca built a two-story mansion complete with gardens and graceful archways. But while Mundaca was building the house, La Trigueña married another islander. Brokenhearted, Mundaca slowly went insane and died, and the hacienda fell into disrepair. Even today, the grounds look neglected. The ruins are 4km south of town; they're easily reached by bike or taxi. Mundaca immediately set out building a large hacienda he named "Vista Alegre" (Happy View) which eventually covered over 40% of the island. There were areas for livestock, birds, vegetables gardens, fruit orchards and exotic plants that were brought from all over the world. A special garden called "The Rose of the Winds" was constructed which served as a sundial telling the time of the day by its shadows. His empty tomb still awaits him in the Isla Mujeres cemetery. Carved by his own hands are the skull and cross bones, in memory of his pirating days and the words meant for his love, "As you are, I was. As I am, you will be" IP: Logged |

Very interesting! I have this one conjunct my natal Mercury by half a degree, in Cancer 9th house... Sounds like it'd be of better use in synastry though. It's not easy to make out a natal meaning.IP: Logged |

awwwwwww~~(topic) Isla Mujeres, Hacienda Mundaca - Slaves, Pirates, and "Unrequited Love" (Overlander.tv, posted Mar 24, 2013) [4:26] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykC_KktRJWM yt notes, quote The story of pirate and slave trader Fermin Mundaca is a fascinating one. A Spaniard of educated background, Fermin decided to try his hand at slave trading, first bringing slaves from the West Coast of Africa to Cuba and Antilla to work the sugarcane plantations and mines, and then Mayan captives from the Yucatan peninsula. In 1858 the British Navy started cracking down on the slave trade and Fermin decided it was time to retire. He purchased near half of Isla Mujeres, the Island of the Women. So called because of female idols found at Mayan Ruins. Fermin fell in love with a local Mayan women, Prisca Gomez. Unfortunately Prisca was not in love with Fermin, who was 37 years her senior. He believed he could win her love by building the grandest Hacienda and gardens, stone archways and seats, sundials and flower beds. He dedicated all to Prisca, who he called 'the brunette' (La Triguena) Fermin destroyed local Mayan Temples to build his monuments of love, and used Mayan Slaves to do the work. You can understand that as a Mayan, Prisca was not impressed with his grand gestures. She married a local Mayan man and Fermin was left heart broken. He became a recluse, letting all his workers go, having only two male servants. He let the gardens and the animals turn to ruin. He bought a grave site in the local cemetery and dated the tombstone 1877. He wrote a message on his tomb, .."As you are now, I was. .. As I am, you will be" Fermin could not stand seeing the growing family of his unrequited love, so left for Merida in 1880, where he died only weeks later. end/quote oops! Astrodienst has a notice that their server went down, and to check later. I was going to see if there were any more asteroids with names pertaining to this story. IP: Logged |

good idea, Mirage! I've seen there's the asteroid Priska (997) which is derived from Prisca and is the feminine form of Priscus (13653) meaning ancient, or venerable. Accorded a great deal of respect, especially because of age, wisdom, or character. (synonyms for 'venerable': respected, venerated, revered, reverenced, worshipped, honored, esteemed, hallowed, august, distinguished, acclaimed, celebrated, lionized (2137) Priscilla is also derived from Priscus btw. But say for ex. if you had Priska conjunct Mundaca, in synastry, it may mean something else than ancient/respectable of course.. There is also the asteroid (72819) Brunet which she was known for. Adding-- the 2587 Gardener?! Story of "unrequited love".. and its consequences. It's really a mystery how the various stories all seem to intermingle with the other groups of asteroids that describe the same energies. ___________________ {copy-paste} 997,13653,2137,72819,17090,2587,201,

unrequited love, only when badly aspected with Mundaca I suppose, because according to this site https://www.dreaminterpretation.co/dream-meaning-gardener/ , 'gardener' can symbolize that your respect will increase. Your income will enhance and you will advance in the business life. IP: Logged |

This so sad, reminds me of the old b&w love stories. My favorite was Green Dolphin Street. So heart wrenching. The clips online due the story no justice. For me it's more a spiritual version of Gone with the Wind. A love triangle, turned to a square. One woman (in this they are sisters) demure, one in touch more with her Earth/ego nature. Green Dolphin Street http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xzxS0v8zCP8 I think there are separate asteroids with this title too! -- -- I thought I'd share a few rocks from my collection but I have lost a few. (No kidding, marbles too. lol)
One known to a few of us here is 73 klytia she was so inlove with Helios but her forsaked her. She then transformed into a heliotrope flower from her longing sun gaze. - 463 Lola "great sorrow" - 43 Ariande can mean "betrayal or abandonment" - 2102 Tantalus "desires are unattainable" Here's an asteroid - 1943 Anteros "rejection " 25384 Partizanske "one sided", I found sometime ago. Idk if I'm first to place it on the LL-bb so I apologize if I'm neglecting another source. (I'll edit if I learn it's been previously shared).

Ouch, 'partizanske' doesn't sound good if you have this conjuncting someone's venus in synastry..Asteroid (29193) Dolphyn exists, but on its own it's a positive symbol. I also found the asteroid Ryabov (5344) could also be associated with dolphins. Apart from there being a Sergei Ryabov who was/is a Russian film director, artist, and animator. Eugene Ryabov is a molecular virologist and Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Ryabov has expertise in: Animal Communications, Marine Biology and Physiology/The dolphin spoken language/ Dolphins have long been linked to resurrection. People who are attracted to the dolphin spirit animal may find themselves on the cusp of a spiritual and personal rebirth, or may have undergone one recently.

Quick post for today.. Hi Astri, I like this experimental approach you're taking. It's coming up with some interesting finds. <copy-paste> 5344,29193,2102,25384,463,43,73,1943,17090 MoonMystic! I LOVE old movies. Thanks for clip from Green Dolphin Street. Love to see the way they dressed and decorated homes in those days. Also interesting to see the social culture norms of that day. Fascinating. Yes, .. I saw what you meant by one sister more in her earth/ego nature, while the other was demure. Did she try to 'steal' the boyfriend? I'll have to watch that movie if I see it listed in TCM channel on TV. Lola!!! hahahaha.. Here's a clip for you. (music) Whatever Lola Wants (scene from Damn Yankees) [4:05] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kjQmgm0r4g Or, how about this one? (music) Lola (The Kinks Cover, Lake Street Dive) [3:55] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7_Lg5dd_9g Lola in Sag 6+ in H12. I hope she has redeemed herself? *humor* prayers and penitence! *grin*

BTW, I've been checking a lot of interesting asteroids for French president Macron in his Solar return for 2022 (new election year) http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/240521.html and I thought to check his wife's SR too and lo and behold.. natal Mundaca and Tantalus is on her natal DC. She attracted a bit of a sad love story with her husband, no? Byblis is not far from her DC either. And curiously, SR Ryabov is also conjunct her natal Vertex that year..

^ At first, I was surprised that the LL-mods allowed your Macron post to stay there in the Astrology Forum. It's filled with asteroids. .. But then, I saw that Pire answered you-- and he is into Politics, and the French Politics. (Pire usually comments mainly in the Political Forum here GU2.0). So.. not bringing your thread HERE to Asteroid Astrology Forum, was like a compromise. I haven't been keeping up (as much) with politics overseas, as I have a lot on my plate. I don't have enough of a "feel" for those candidates (overseas), whether they are liberal or conservatives-- I have not formed an opinion. I just listen. You mustn't like him very much to be looking for assassination aspects? *spooky* LOL I had (temporarily) belonged to a local astrology group (that has since-then disbanded) who used to "plot" if/when President Obama would be killed too. {They were into extreme-right politics and DEEP into conspiracy theories.} I don't at-all mind discussing politics with folks who have different views than I do-- however, I draw the line at plotting any "political-celebrity's" death. (that's just-me) Will be interesting to see if your theories pan out. Maybe other people will go to your Macron thread to make comments now. Have a great weekend. IP: Logged |

Well I ended up checking a lot of asteroids, true but it did start with me noticing his pluto conjuncting his AC and some other planetary stuff, but it sometimes difficult to decide what belongs in which category since things tend to overlap. Like asteroids in synastry for ex..is it for the asteroids category or interpersonal astrology..?Anyways, even if I don't like Macron, that's not the reason why I think of the possibility of him getting killed. There's plenty of politicians I don't like that I don't necessarily assume this of. It's really based on what's going on and some interesting stuff going on in his horoscope and I do like to 'predict death' for myself and others I know as well. I just think these are very interesting events to check for in a horoscope. I do believe the time of death is fated, so technically should be able to read into a horoscope, but I'm not saying I have experience in this, I just like to research and analyze, obviously. Have a great we too!
