Trump's Order to Combat Anti-Semitism
Divides Its Audience: American Jews

Amir Kashfi felt a sigh of relief when he heard that President Donald Trump had signed an executive order to combat anti-Semitism and the burgeoning anti-Israel movement on college campuses.

He recalled how, as a Jewish student at the University of California at Los Angeles last year, he heard fellow students chant “two, four, six, eight, Israel is a terror state” as they protested campus tuition increases. Anti-Zionist forms of anti-Semitism, he believed, were a growing problem on campus.

But in Chicago, Rabbi Hara Person, the chief executive of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, saw the president’s action and worried. In a terse directive Wednesday, Trump said anti-Semitism would be covered by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which “prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color and national origin,” but does not mention religion.

“Not to overdramatize, but it feels dangerous,” she said. “I’ve heard people say this feels like the first step toward us wearing yellow stars.”

The politics of the executive order seemed clear when it was signed Wednesday. Attending the signing ceremony were prominent Jews and evangelical Christians, Democrats and Republicans, and some big-name donors. Trump, at a party after the ceremony, lavished praise on Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson: “He’s got no cash problem — that, I can tell you.”

“My administration will never tolerate the suppression, persecution or silencing of the Jewish people,” Trump declared at the ceremony, which doubled as a Hanukkah party.

In rattling off all he had done for Israel’s government — moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal — the president appeared intent on expanding his support among Jewish voters, or at least peeling off portions of a small and largely Democratic voting bloc, as well as pleasing evangelical supporters and major donors like Adelson.

The executive order “will go down in history as one of the most important events in the 2,000-year battle against anti-Semitism,” Alan Dershowitz, an informal legal adviser of the president, said at the ceremony.

But across the country, Jewish communities viewed Trump’s order in competing and discordant ways. It came on the heels of a rampage in New Jersey in which four people were killed in what the authorities are investigating as an anti-Semitic attack and an act of domestic terrorism. And many Jews were struck by their religion being placed under civil rights protections aimed at race or “national origin.”

“This is deeply objectionable, going back centuries in anti-Semitic thinking,” said Rabbi Daniel G. Zemel, who leads Temple Micah, a Reform congregation in Washington.

The order was months in the making. The White House, led by the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, began working on it in July, prodded by David Krone, a chief of staff to Sen. Harry Reid, a Democrat who has retired. The administration came to see that it might be able to achieve through executive order what lawmakers in both parties had failed to secure in past legislation.

Kushner’s office worked with the White House Domestic Policy Council and the Counsel’s Office to work out language. Concerns were raised that the order’s definition of anti-Semitism — which labeled anti-Semitic the claim “that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor” — could raise First Amendment issues on many campuses, where Palestinian rights have become a rallying cry.

Questions were also raised about applying Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which targets prejudice based on race, color and national origin, to Jews. Some in the White House worried that the move might have the opposite impact of what was intended, isolating Jews as a race or nationality and prompting more hate.

But defenders invoked a 2010 nonbinding guidance letter from the Obama-era Justice Department to the Education Department that agreed that the Civil Rights Act could protect Jews, Arab Muslims, Sikhs and members of other religious groups. To concerns that the definition of anti-Semitism was overly broad, defenders pointed out that the State Department already uses it.

Kushner and his allies believed they were ready to roll out the order in September, but they took extra time to research possible outcomes and to make sure it was durable, people familiar with the talks said.

Brought on board were groups like the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center, which had long advocated such a measure, first in Congress and then with the White House.

“The president and people in his administration are aggressively working to implement real policies confronting anti-Semitism, whether it is this in the education arena, or I’d say the Justice Department and the FBI,” said Nathan Diament, the center’s executive director.

But uncomfortable tensions have been rising in Jewish communities over Trump’s embrace of the hard-line policies of Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the president’s tolerance of what many see as bigotry in his administration and his political movement.

“It is an administration that regularly winks at white nationalists, and this is a cynical move to pretend that the administration actually cares about Jews when in fact their actions consistently put Jews in more danger,” said Rabbi Jill Jacobs, the executive director of T’ruah, a liberal Jewish group.

Rabbi Rick Jacobs, the president of the Union for Reform Judaism, said he supported good-faith efforts to curb anti-Semitism on college campuses, but also acknowledged the concern over the order’s potential implications for free speech. “It’s something we’re going to closely monitor,” he said.

Beyond its impact for Jewish Americans, the move was also a political signal to Trump’s conservative evangelical base that he continues to support its policy priorities regarding Israel. Like Netanyahu, Trump has courted American evangelicals, often at the expense of more liberal Jewish communities.

Trump featured conservative evangelical leaders, including Robert Jeffress, the pastor of First Baptist Dallas, and the Rev. John C. Hagee, a prominent end-times preacher, at the White House’s Hanukkah party after the signing ceremony. Both men have prompted outrage for their previous incendiary comments about Jewish people and prayed at the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem last year. Jeffress once said that “you can’t be saved being a Jew,” and Hagee once said that the Holocaust was part of God’s plan to return the Jews to Israel.

Hagee, who founded Christians United for Israel, said that the executive order’s adoption of the State Department’s definition of anti-Semitism was his group’s “No. 1 policy priority this year.”

Some rabbis are especially concerned about Trump’s comments last weekend in Florida, when he said that some Jewish people “don’t love Israel enough.”

“With his leadership, support for Israel, which has been such a bipartisan foundation block of who America is, is being threatened,” said Rabbi Eytan Hammerman, who leads the Jewish Community Center of Harrison, a Conservative synagogue in New York.

At a conference for Reform rabbis in Chicago on Thursday, Rabbi Arnie Gluck, the head of Temple Beth-El in Hillsborough, New Jersey, was grateful for the president’s order, and he hoped it would make students more safe, especially amid rising hate speech.

Rabbi Seth Limmer, the head of Chicago Sinai, a Reform congregation, felt the issue personally. His daughter, a junior in high school, is visiting colleges, and she has grown worried that the progressive movements on campus will not accept her because of her support for Israel.

“Every young Jewish person on a college campus will wonder, ‘I love being Jewish, but it might be difficult for me to be Jewish at college; I know I want to join advocacy organizations like Black Lives Matter, but fear they will reject me because I’m Jewish,’” Rabbi Limmer said.

He was not, however, convinced that the executive order would address the issue.

“This executive order was designed to counter a slippery slope where freedom of speech and protests turn into anti-Semitism,” he said. “But I’m a big believer that if you stifle a protest, it’s not going to stifle the protest.”

Kathryn Fleisher, a junior at the University of Pittsburgh, remembered that on the day of the Tree of Life synagogue massacre last year in her city, one of the first people to check on her was the campus leader of Students for Justice in Palestine, which has been denounced by pro-Israel groups. The two women were both committed to human rights, and they once sat down to talk about the differences in their beliefs for about two and a half hours.

“She didn’t even know the SJP were seen as being anti-Jewish,” Fleisher said. “One reason the executive order concerns me is that it puts she and I at odds, like we’re not on the same team somehow.”

¡°Combating Anti-Semitism

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Policy. My Administration is committed to combating the rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic incidents in the United States and around the world. Anti-Semitic incidents have increased since 2013, and students, in particular, continue to face anti-Semitic harassment in schools and on university and college campuses.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), 42 U.S.C. 2000d et seq., prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs and activities receiving Federal financial assistance. While Title VI does not cover discrimination based on religion, individuals who face discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin do not lose protection under Title VI for also being a member of a group that shares common religious practices. Discrimination against Jews may give rise to a Title VI violation when the discrimination is based on an individual¡¯s race, color, or national origin.

It shall be the policy of the executive branch to enforce Title VI against prohibited forms of discrimination rooted in anti-Semitism as vigorously as against all other forms of discrimination prohibited by Title VI.

Sec. 2. Ensuring Robust Enforcement of Title VI. (a) In enforcing Title VI, and identifying evidence of discrimination based on race, color, or national origin, all executive departments and agencies (agencies) charged with enforcing Title VI shall consider the following:

(i) the non-legally binding working definition of anti-Semitism adopted on May 26, 2016, by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which states, ¡°Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities¡±; and

(ii) the ¡°Contemporary Examples of Anti-Semitism¡± identified by the IHRA, to the extent that any examples might be useful as evidence of discriminatory intent.

(b) In considering the materials described in subsections (a)(i) and (a)(ii) of this section, agencies shall not diminish or infringe upon any right protected under Federal law or under the First Amendment. As with all other Title VI complaints, the inquiry into whether a particular act constitutes discrimination prohibited by Title VI will require a detailed analysis of the allegations.

Sec. 3. Additional Authorities Prohibiting Anti-Semitic Discrimination. Within 120 days of the date of this order, the head of each agency charged with enforcing Title VI shall submit a report to the President, through the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, identifying additional nondiscrimination authorities within its enforcement authority with respect to which the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism could be considered.

Sec. 4. Rule of Construction. Nothing in this order shall be construed to alter the evidentiary requirements pursuant to which an agency makes a determination that conduct, including harassment, amounts to actionable Start Printed Page 68780discrimination, or to diminish or infringe upon the rights protected under any other provision of law.

Sec. 5. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

Trump administration wants to make being poor illegal

Mike’s Notes: I am a capitalist. I think that people who come up with a new idea and invest their own money to promote it deserve all of the money that they get.

However, capitalism has its limits. This is where the union movement came from. In the age of “robber barons” workers were regularly told that if they wanted to keep their jobs they had to cut the lawn of their supervisor or perform other menial tasks for him. At Ford motor company, workers were asked what car they owned and if they did not say a Ford, they were fired.

Today, because the unions were successful in passing worker protection laws they are, in some circles, considered obsolete.

Growing up in the Detroit area in the 50s and 60s we had a sort of safety net. If you had a life plan that somehow did not succeed, you could always make a living wage by going to work for an auto company. The work was hard and dirty and your life might be shortened due to your working conditions but you could make enough money to provide a home for your family. These jobs are no longer available.

In the last century, Unions did a lot to end homelessness, but now the problem has again exploded. Many of the homeless are full-time workers who simply don’t make enough to provide a place to live.

Add to this returning veterans from our never-ending wars who are dumped out on the streets after they have given what they have to our military and now face dealing with the VA. This is an organization whose motto is: “Deny, deny until they die.”

Veterans who don’t choose suicide, make up a significant portion of the homeless. Our treatment of them and the working poor say a lot about the morality of our county.

Trump and his minions will tell you that all you have to do is make a small loan of $1,000,000 from your father and invest it wisely. Of course, he actually lost his father’s investment, but his big deal with Russian oligarchs allowed him to continue his “business.”

The White House is taking steps toward decisive new action on homelessness, bucking policies favored by advocates in favor of an aggressive approach that centers the role of law enforcement. Some of these efforts hit roadblocks this week, but more measures are in the works—including a rumored executive order on homeless encampments.

Advocates say that they expect an executive order on homelessness to assign new resources to police departments to remove homeless encampments and even strip housing funds from cities that choose to tolerate these encampments. It’s one of several efforts being steered by the White House’s Domestic Policy Council in concert with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

On Monday, Housing Secretary Ben Carson met with local officials in Houston, part of a push for federal action on homelessness that could soon take shape in cities across the country. The secretary visited an emergency shelter and was slated to tour a former Harris County jail facility, according to advocates familiar with his agenda. Officials at HUD have been looking at real estate in several cities since the fall when President Donald Trump ordered a sweeping federal response to homelessness.

Carson’s latest stop is yet another signal that the administration is keen to take a hands-on approach to people who sleep on the street. Advocates say that the government is looking closely at ways to turn former correctional facilities and federal buildings into shelters, a controversial approach backed by Robert Marbut, the newly appointed White House czar on homelessness.

One advocate for a Washington, D.C.-based housing organization says that HUD has narrowed its focus to a list of 24 cities and states, all of which have large numbers of unhoused people sleeping outside. Most are located on the West Coast, where Trump has sought to embarrass progressive officials by intervening. Houston is among the cities on this list, obtained by CityLab, where local and regional bodies known as continuums of care (CoCs) face high unsheltered counts. In addition to 20 cities, four of the places named on the list are states that have homeless populations outside the largest urban centers.

While Houston made its way onto HUD’s potential action list, the city has made significant progress in recent years in curbing homelessness, especially relative to other cities in Texas. Over the last decade, the city has cut the number of people experiencing homelessness by more than half. And despite a recent increase following Hurricane Harvey, the trend is still stable or downward, unlike in Dallas, Austin, and other places.

Yet housing advocates fear that the White House favors a punitive approach for Houston, whereas in other Texas cities—homeless encampments are increasingly visible. “I hope that what [Carson] takes away is that if you really turn all your resources to permanent housing and ending homelessness, instead of managing the condition of homelessness, it can have dramatic results,” says Eva Thibeaudeau, CEO of Temenos, a community development corporation that operates about 140 performance supporting housing units in Houston.

Since 2011, the city has marked a 54 percent decline in people experiencing homelessness, according to local point-in-time counts. Thibeaudeau credits the falling numbers of people living on the streets to the city’s adherence to a set of principles known as Housing First. The policy has enabled Houston to put more than 18,000 people into permanent housing situations with their own leases. “We shifted a lot of dollars out of short-term, temporary, high-barrier projects, and reallocated them all toward permanent solutions,” Thibeaudeau says. “That really is the reason that our homelessness has been driven down.”

Housing First runs contrary to the approach favored by Marbut, the consultant who was named director of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness last week. Marbut has pushed for shelters that set up barriers to treatment, namely sobriety. For example, at Haven for Hope, a shelter founded by Marbut in San Antonio, homeless people with substance-abuse problems must sleep outside in an exposed courtyard until they can pass a drug test.

In Houston, Temenos manages so-called wet housing: The group works with city and county officials and sobering centers to identify people struggling with long-term alcoholism and addiction who are facing chronic homelessness and give them permanent support, including three meals per day and a lease.

In September, when the White House released a report on homelessness, it signaled a change away from the Housing First direction long favored by the Interagency Council on Homelessness. Going forward, the administration appears to be leaning on a prominent role for law enforcement, with a focus on shelters that sequester homeless people away from downtown in large, centralized facilities.

Late in November, an official at HUD sent an email to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler and other officials in Oregon to express Carson’s interest in determining whether an unused jail in Portland could be repurposed for a pilot program to address homelessness, according to a report in Willamette Week. And in September, Carson and other officials at HUD visited a former federal office building just outside Los Angeles, a move that sparked fears among housing advocates that the Trump administration could be planning a crackdown on Skid Row’s unhoused population.

The Trump administration may pursue its agenda on homelessness on other fronts. An executive order—said to be the brainchild of Benjamin Hobbs, special assistant to the president for domestic policy—might not materialize for weeks (if ever). But such executive action would reinforce the dynamic in Texas, where the conservative Governor has sought to overrule the work of liberal leaders in Austin to legalize tent encampments, for example.

But the broader campaign to criminalize homelessness hit a snag on Monday when the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a case from Boise, Idaho, about whether local and state governments can make it a crime for people to sleep outside. A Supreme Court decision that overturned the federal appeals court’s decision might have enabled cities to prosecute people forced to sleep outside.

“We’re thrilled that the court has let the 9th Circuit decision stand so that homeless people are not punished for sleeping on the streets when they have no other option,” Maria Foscarinis, executive director of the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty, told USA Today.

In yet another front of the administration’s efforts, the White House also pushed hard to strip Housing First language from funding measures in the appropriations bill passed on Monday night, according to advocates. But the bill still retains language from 2018 that prioritizes funds for groups that adhere to Housing First goals.

There are still some legal impediments to banning encampments or stripping funds from groups that choose to put housing needs before behavioral modification. But those may not be enough to prevent the White House from implementing a strategy that local leaders describe as an about-face from what they’ve been pursuing for years.

“The Houston approach, in general, has not been to pour a lot of money into emergency-type facilities,” Thibeaudeau says. “We’ve chosen instead to use that money to increase our supply of permanent supportive housing.”

Trump Claims “King of Israel” Nationality, Bans Criticism of Himself by Executive Order

In the wake of President Trump’s executive order banning criticism of Israel and making “Jewish” a nationality, the White House announced yesterday that Trump will go one step further and claim “King of Israel” nationality and “Second Coming of God” status, effectively exempting himself from criticism.

Trump, who annointed himself King of Israel and Second Coming of God last August, is expected to issue a new executive order tomorrow making “King of Israel” a protected nationality and “second coming of God” a special religious identity off-limits to sacrilege, blasphemy, heresy, or any other form of criticism. Once the order has been issued, anyone criticizing Trump will be arrested for hate speech (due to his protected nationality) and sacrilege (due to his special religious status) and summarily tortured and burned at the stake.

Trump, who has repeatedly gone on record supporting torture because it “absolutely works,” is expected to mount a similar defense of burning-at-the-stake. A White House insider reports that the President believes the only way to make “Trump-haters” stop criticizing him is to threaten to burn them to death on the White House lawn, where he can watch the proceedings through the window of his Oval Office.

Psychiatry expert says Trump’s rambling Merry Christmas rant includes three signs of serious mental impairment

President Donald Trump’s speech in Florida over the weekend provides evidence that he is suffering from cognitive decline, according to a psychiatric expert.

Seth Davin Norrholm, an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Emory University School of Medicine, said Monday that the president’s recent rant about Christmas included at least three signs of mental problems.

“So if anybody wants to be a nice conservative, talk show host is not a bad living, I would say. But I have to say, he’s a very unique guy and he’s a great man and he’s been a great friend. So thank you to Rush. Thank you,” Trump said.

“And let me begin by wishing you a beautif — look, do you remember this? Do you remember this? Remember, they were trying to take Christmas out of Christmas. Do you remember? They didn’t want to let you say Merry Christmas,” Trump continued.

“You’d go around, you’d see department stores that have everything red, snow, beautiful, ribbons, bows. Everything was there. But they wouldn’t say Merry Christmas. They’re all saying Merry Christmas again. You remember?”

Yale psychiatrist urges 72-hour mental health hold on Trump after Iran

A Yale psychiatrist who has warned of the dangers of President Donald Trump’s mental health for years urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to request a mental health hold of the president after he ordered a drone strike that killed a top Iranian general.

Bandy X. Lee, a professor of psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, founded the World Mental Health Coalition after convening a conference at Yale on the president’s mental health. She is the editor of the book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President” and more recently was joined by psychiatrists at universities around the U.S. in calling for the House of Representatives to convene a panel of mental health experts to weigh in on the president’s impeachment proceedings.

Lee recently told Salon that Pelosi has not done enough to respond to the president.

“As a co-worker, she has the right to have him submit to an involuntary evaluation, but she has not,” she said. “I am beginning to believe that a mental health hold, which we have tried to avoid, will become inevitable.”

Lee told Salon this week that the president’s decision to order the drone killing of a top Iranian general was further evidence that Pelosi should do more to rein in Trump. The Pentagon said on Thursday that Trump ordered a drone strike that killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and widely considered the second-most powerful official in Iran. Democrats quickly warned that the escalation threatens to plunge the U.S. into a full-blown war with Iran.

“This is exactly the kind of dangerous event we foresaw as Donald Trump’s response to the impeachment proceedings, just as his pulling troops from northern Syria was a direct response to the announcement of an impeachment inquiry,” Lee told Salon. “This was why more than 800 mental health professionals petitioned Congress to consult with us, since, without intervention, this kind of crisis was a matter of time, not just a possibility.”

Lee said Trump’s actions were “exactly what someone who lacks mental capacity would do.”

“In other words, he is extremely drawn to actions that would help him appear as if he has mental capacity, such as a ‘presidential strike’ against an enemy, while avoiding the proper procedures, such as briefing with Congress, that might expose his lack of capacity,” she said. “What we do not expect from someone who lacks mental capacity is rational, reality-based decision making that is non-impulsive, non-reckless, and cognizant of consequences.”

Lee also noted that Trump had repeatedly accused former President Barack Obama of planning to attack Iran in order to help his re-election.

“Since he is incapable of putting himself in another person’s shoes, he projects his own thoughts entirely onto others,” she said. “Hence, we can deduce that what he has said about Mr. Obama has nothing to do with the former president but has only to do with the way he himself thinks.”

Lee’s comments that Pelosi has the right to request a mental health hold of Trump have drawn criticism. Lee spoke to Salon this week about her comments and doubled down on her call for Pelosi to submit Trump for an “involuntary evaluation.” The transcript that follows has been edited for length and clarity.

You recently told Salon that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can request an involuntary mental health examination of President Trump, which prompted a lot of questions. Can you clarify what you meant and what that would look like? How might the president respond?

My critics do not have an argument. There are many situations where I hoped that my formulation would be wrong — but now that my hypotheses have been tested so many times to 100 percent precision, we would be remiss to ignore the certainty. Psychological dangerousness is the only criterion we need, and I hope now that even ordinary people will see that the Syrian and Iraqi examples are psychological, not political, responses and not the result of a productive strategy!

What would an involuntary evaluation look like? We have to apply the same principles to an unprecedented situation, not rely on “this looks different than what I am used to seeing.” In the case of family, members can call 911; in the case of a president, citizens could draw up a demand. Numerous citizens have approached me about this since our last interview, and I have recommended a petition. If millions sign, it cannot be ignored. As a mental health professional who could be called in to evaluate, I cannot start it, but any citizen can. Citizens, as the president’s employers, are acceptable auspices, especially if Congress or other governmental bodies are not acting.

Is there a constitutional provision for this?

Yes. In this country, no one is above the law, and as far as mental health laws and the president are concerned, there is no Office of Legal Counsel memo, no exceptions and at this time not even confidentiality, since he has yet to be a patient. Before it is a political matter involving impeachment or the 25th Amendment, it is a medical matter. The physical danger due to psychological impairment needs to be removed, and we are bound by our own professional code not to abandon persons or the public in danger. We are even legally bound to take steps to protect potential victims if warning is insufficient and security staff will not act. If the personal physician is unavailable or too conflicted to do so, any physician can.

A 72-hour hold does not require court intervention and is enough for a solid evaluation. There is no shortage of mental health professionals willing to put their names to commitment papers, and multiple legal groups have offered to file for a court order for security staff to cooperate. All we need are auspices so as to show it is not a coup or something nefarious — although, at this point, we may need to proceed anyway because the populace is growing too sick to see any intervention as legitimate unless it is illegitimate. This is common in mental health settings, and we apply the proper treatment according to standard anyway with the hope that patients will improve enough to see that you have helped them — which happens most of the time. It is this nature of mental disease that has allowed for civil commitment laws to be possible in a country that protects civil liberties.

Under this scenario, what would stop lawmakers or even voters from trying to have their opponents involuntarily evaluated?

This is the great misconception that has stemmed from a lack of education of the public. Psychiatry is a science that is evidence- and fact-based, just like the rest of medicine. If we leave everything to politics alone, without grounding in evidence, facts, science and established expertise, it becomes an area where anything goes and everything is up for grabs. We should serve as a buffer against this, not as an agent of the state, the way the American Psychiatric Association has acted.

Do you think presidential candidates should be required to undergo some sort of mental health assessment to prevent potentially dangerous individuals from taking office in the first place?

Absolutely — this is what we have been advocating from the start! Every military officer, and particularly those handling nuclear weapons, is subject to a mental health screen before they take their positions. Their commander in chief should at least be held to the same standards. Implementing mental health screens would, in fact, eliminate most of the atrocities in history that have befallen nations because of a compromised leader. We have set up a non-governmental, independent expert panel with rigorous criteria that is ready to do fitness-for-duty tests of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, as well as the current president, any time we are called.

Why haven’t more professionals spoken out about this?

I hold the American Psychiatric Association responsible for this, and I have criticized it from the moment I recognized what was happening. By choosing to protect a powerful political figure over society, it not only stigmatized an entire field through the secrecy and strangeness it imposed, but I believe it has doomed itself to infamy for refusing to act on perhaps the greatest mental health crisis possible, unless it corrects itself — not to mention stopping individual professionals from fulfilling their own professional responsibility through public campaigns. I am in active protest until it publicly recants its actions.

Pretending that something does not exist — not just mental compromise in the president, but mental health issues in general — disarms and victimizes us, while giving our enemies the chance to take advantage. It also abandons those who are suffering from the very serious problem of mental illness, and may hurt them by encouraging the conflation of dangerousness with mental illness.

1. Iraqi prime minister says Soleimani was in Iraq for a mediation effort

Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has made some shocking revelations that put the assassination of Soleimani in a completely different light. He told the Iraqi parliament on Sunday that he “was supposed to meet Soleimani on the morning of the day he was killed, he came to deliver me a message from Iran responding to the message we delivered from Saudi to Iran.”

If this account is true, Trump — perhaps deliberately — acted to scuttle an effort to reduce tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

But it also shows that as the United States was signaling that it would not go to war with Iran — as Trump did earlier this summer — this compelled Saudi Arabia and the UAE to begin quiet negotiations with Iran to resolve their tension. As long as the Saudis and the Emiratis felt they could push the U.S. to go to war with Iran, they had no interest in diplomacy with Iran. The U.S.’s military protection of these countries essentially disincentivized them from pursuing peace.

In the past few months, under the impression that Trump had opted against war, they began careful diplomacy with Tehran. The U.S. should have welcomed this development. But the killing of Soleimani may have at the same time killed that effort and once again given Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Emiratis a license to continue recklessness and destabilization.

2. Soleimani’s death has unified Iran

Rather than being a blow to Iran, the assassination of Soleimani has fueled nationalist sentiments in Iran and unified the political elite as well as the country. The crowds of mourners in the cities where his casket has been taken were in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions.

Only a few months ago, there were widespread protests against the Iranian government, which were met with brutal force and repression. Now, Iranians are protesting alongside the government, not against it.

3. Iraqi Parliament voted to expel U.S. forces

The Iraqi parliament on Sunday voted to expel all U.S. military forces from Iraq, as a direct consequence of the Soleimani assassination. Iraqis have tried to walk a fine balance between the U.S. and Iran, but the assassination made that balance untenable. Iraqis don’t want their country to become the arena for a U.S.-Iran war, and the U.S. military presence made that risk all too likely.

While many will point out that this is a victory for Soleimani and Iran, it is also important to note that this is also what the American public wants. In fact, this is what Trump promised them he’d do.

The U.S. military presence in Iraq does not add to U.S. national security. Instead, it increases the threat of what would be a disastrous U.S.-Iran war. The U.S. does not need to have 5,000 troops in Iraq to assist in the fight against ISIS. Trump should welcome the vote and bring American military servicemen and women home to be with their families.

4. Pompeo’s absurd claim that war with Iran started with the nuclear deal

“This war kicked off when the JCPOA was entered into,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday, referring to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. This is an astonishing statement. In Pompeo’s view, the U.S. and the entire international community (save Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) entering an agreement to block Iran’s path to a nuclear bomb was tantamount to starting a war.

What threatens Pompeo is not war. It’s peace. He is doing everything he can to ensure that tensions with Iran don’t get resolved. For him, the “war” to start a war with Iran started when the U.S. embarked on a path of resolving its tensions with Iran.

5. Iran announces further reductions in its commitments to the JCPOA

Iran has announced the fifth reduction of its commitments to the JCPOA. This is not tantamount to Iran quitting the JCPOA, as it has left the door open to recommit itself to all of the restrictions of the nuclear agreement if the U.S. lifts sanctions on Iran. (Those sanctions, it should be mentioned, are a violation of the JCPOA as well as the United Nations Security Council Resolution that embodies the JCPOA). Nevertheless, this is a step that will further increase tensions.

Iraq’s Caretaker Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi has said that Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani was set to deliver Tehran’s reply to an earlier Saudi message regarding de-escalation talks mediated by Baghdad when he was assassinated.

Abdul-Mahdi made the remarks during an extraordinary parliamentary session in the capital which led to the adoption of a law demanding the withdrawal of US forces from the country on Sunday, the National Iraqi News Agency reported.

The premier said that he was due to meet Soleimani at 8:30 am local time on Friday before the US assassinated the general a few hours earlier.

The revelations come as Baghdad has been mediating talks between Tehran and Riyadh following a recent uptick of tensions the region.

Sunday’s parliamentary vote was held in response to Washington’s Friday airstrikes targeting Soleimani and his comrades.

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) was also killed in the attack.

We used to have meetings in which we had discussed the coming of the Jewish Messiah and the future world as envisioned by Chabad and the Jewish religion ¨C a world where the Jews are the supreme masters of the Earth where every individual Jew has as many as 2,800 gentile slaves, a world, where the only purpose of non-Jews is to SERVE Jews. On the other hand, the Jews are considered as the ¡°Seat Of God¡±.

WHAT AND WHO IS CHABAD?

Trump attempt to get sexual assault accuser’s lawsuit dismissed slapped aside by New York judge: report

An attempt by President Donald Trump to get a defamation lawsuit filed by one of his sexual assault accusers dismissed was slapped aside by a New York City judge on Thursday and is being allowed to proceed, reports the New York Times.

According to the report, lawyers for the president attempted to have the lawsuit filed by writer E. Jean Carroll booted from court in a filing last week that asserted “New York’s courts lack jurisdiction to hear the case because he was not in New York and did not live in the state when he made the comments that Ms. Carroll says defamed her.”

According to Carroll’s suit, the Times reports Trump is accused of “hurting her career and reputation in denying her claim that he raped her in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s.”

In her ruling, Justice Doris Ling-Cohan of State Supreme Court in Manhattan wrote, “that Mr. Trump had failed to provide anything — ‘not even a tweet, much less an affidavit’ — to support his position beyond his lawyer’s statement that ‘the President of the United States has resided in the White House for the past three years.'”

As part of her ruling, Ling-Cohan also instructed lawyers on both sides to proceed with discovery.

Well, I have to admit, Trump’s Peace Plan is actually pretty good, all things considered. It was strong, it stands for Israel while at the same time acknowledging the Palestinian reality. Trump’s Israeli “Deal Of Century” or “Fraud of the Century”?

In few days, President Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz, assorted members of the American Jewish leadership, Israeli loyalists, his rabbis to his private Temple in Florida to announce “the “Deal of the Century.” A deal that is cooked up by Trump’s “Jewish family” to solve the Israeli problem, not the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

You see, Israel and beyond it, members of the international Jewish Zionist movement continue to have problems and doubts with “Israel’s legitimacy” after some 72 years since its declaration. Even though the late fraud Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, the PLO, Palestine National Council, Fatah all gave full unconditional recognition to Israel. It was Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas who perpetuated the “fraud of the Century” in Oslo decades before Trump’s “Deal of the Century.”

Ironically no Palestinian is invited to this occasion, it is a Jewish wedding with both the groom and the bride Jewish, and the entire guests are Jewish. One would think that Palestinians whose land Trump is giving away are invited to serve the wine and the food.

Certainly, Palestine is not the historic “homeland” of an Ashkenazi Jew like Jared Kushner, or Dennis Ross, or Martyn Indyk, but Palestinians through 4,000 years of history. Israelis may dig as much as they can to prove their history in Palestine, but that will not change the fact that Palestine is Palestine and will remain as Palestine.

Ironically and since the days of late President Johnson, the Arab/Palestinian/Israeli conflict has been entrusted to members of the American Jewish community, both as special envoys or as high ranking members of the administration, both Democrats and Republicans. The White House, under all presidents Democrats or Republicans, has entrusted the Arab-Israeli conflicts to crucial members of the American Jewish community to formulate all policies related to Israel and the entire Arab world.

These key policymakers not only gave Israel full unconditional support by help legitimize all Israel actions and help rewrite international laws in favor of Israel. Even when they were “helping” broker a deal, they were on the side of Israel, never honest broker by their admission.

This upcoming event is a reelection “down payment” of financial, political, and medial support by members of the American Jewish leadership and AIPAC, Trump will announce Israel’s sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and Area C, which comprise of 78% of what remains of historic Palestine.

Israel will hold Palestinians in several key “reservations” similar to the American Indians reservation or the “Jewish Hamlets and Ghettos “of Russia and East Europe, in which Ashkenazi Jews are the experts.

Of course, Jewish sovereignty over the area excludes the rights of citizenship of the people residing in this area. Israel will classify these Palestinians as “illegal aliens” subject to deportation and return to their original homeland in the Ukraine or Poland or Moldovia. And they will be deemed “foreign” with the status that will allow Israel to ethnically cleanse them from their towns and villages similar to what we have seen in the movie ” Fiddler on the Roof.”

I don’t blame Trump or his inner members of the Jewish family. I blame the fraudulent, criminals Arafat and Abbas and the entire Palestinian leadership that has perpetuated the biggest fraud in the history of Palestine and, in a desperate criminal act, gave away all Palestinian rights to historic Palestine to Israel and the international Zionist movement. The bustards lacking any legitimacy their Oslo is null and void.

I should note here that many Arab countries are shaking with fear, not knowing what this “Deal of the Century” means to them, and they have good reasons, because in 70 years after colonialism, they never achieved legitimacy from their people, but from outside foreign countries.

Now with the “Deal of the Century” signed and sealed by Trump, the King of Israel, should resign his position as the President of the United States of America, having waived all his legitimate rights to such status. President Donald Trump¡¯s lawyers urged a judge Wednesday to halt a lawsuit from a woman seeking Trump¡¯s DNA to help prove her claim that he raped her in the 1990s, though her lawyer offered to hold off the DNA request for a time.

Former advice columnist E. Jean Carroll is suing Trump for calling her a liar when she went public with her rape allegation last year. Trump¡¯s lawyers argue her case ¡ª including the DNA request ¡ª needs to wait until New York¡¯s highest court rules in a separate case against him. That ruling could take several months or longer.

Judge Verna Saunders gave no indication Wednesday how or when she might rule on whether to pause Carroll¡¯s case.

Carroll, who watched from the courtroom audience, said afterward she¡¯s pursuing the suit ¡°not just for myself but for every woman in America who¡¯s been grabbed, groped, harassed, sexually assaulted, and has spoken out and still has been disgraced, shamed or fired.¡±

Carroll says Trump assaulted her in a luxury department store dressing room in the mid-1990s, after they bumped into each other and bantered about trying on a bodysuit.

Trump said Carroll was ¡°totally lying¡± to sell a memoir that was published last year, adding in one interview that ¡°she¡¯s not my type.¡±

He said he¡¯d never met Carroll, shrugging off a 1987 photo of them and their then-spouses at a social event as simply a snapshot of a moment when he was standing in a line.

Carroll is seeking a DNA sample from Trump to see whether it matches as-yet-unidentified male genetic material found on a dress that she says she was wearing during the alleged attack. Carroll says she hasn¡¯t laundered the dress and donned it only once since, for a photoshoot last year.

The Chinese leadership realised they needed to change, that radical overhauls of their economic and industrial sectors were needed and with the typical industry and ruthless determination of the Chinese, they set to work. New, younger leaders were appointed to key positions, great strides were made in overhauling and modernising all aspects of the economy, within a few short years, the country had begun to experience a boom that eventually grew to such proportions it was unprecedented in recorded history.

Today, China is utterly transformed, it has become the workshop of the world, a leader in technology and industry, a major economic powerhouse with a strong and state of the art military, it consumes vast quantities of raw materials while pumping out all manner of products in volumes that allow low prices that the rest of the world can scarcely compete with, hence so much industry has migrated to China, leaving the former economic and industrial powerhouses in Europe and North America looking distinctly old fashioned and in danger of going under.

Of course, the hidden hands that control virtually the entire globe and it’s economy were not prepared to allow the Chinese to become the dominant economic, industrial and military power, so they decided to wage war on China; an undeclared war that is unlike any that preceded it as it is not being fought on battlefields by militaries nor in the skies by aircraft and missiles.

A quick rundown of some of the offensive actions taken against China leaves one in little doubt that a concerted campaign is been waged against the Asian powerhouse:
•The CIA-sponsored uprising in Xianjing province by the Muslim Uighurs, this has cost the Chinese huge sums of money and the expenditure of vast efforts to put down and even today is still being dealt with.

We wake up today, cheap gas but the jobs will be disappearing in floods soon as will the ability to underwrite our banking system and there is no one left to borrow from, they died too.

Even the Saudis will be on the ropes. All that will be left will be Venezuela, Iran, Russia and Cuba and they are laughing at us today.

Planes are empty, all flights to the Far East long since banned, to much of Europe as well and those that go, fly empty. Go now, you get a whole aisle of seats.

We have now lost 20% of America’s economy, all that is left is the shards of the balloon and Trump’s debt. We can no longer afford a military and stealing Syria’s oil isn’t going to fix anything, it costs $100 per barrel to process it and $500 a barrel to steal it.

Yes, they got a hold of SARS, a horrific respiratory illness, edited its DNA to make it incubate for weeks and stay symptomless then let it loose on China, Iran and Italy.

This, of course was done with an American president and vice president who are both criminally insane and a GOP controlled congress long on the payroll of the Kosher Nostra while the media is in full lockdown mode, reporting none of this.

We now have to watch and see what else is in store for us. We are down to shotguns and canned goods, as warned long ago.

Why is no one talking about a totally decapitalized world? The underlying value of everything has just disappeared as we only have currency, which is as strong as the economy behind it, economies that no longer exist, and bond/equity which have now lost a third of their value.

Past this, we have debt which is holding on fine, with new ratios today showing the US hopelessly over the edge, unable to sustain Social Security, Medicare and the military.

The capability to do this has been a highly funded black program run through programs that have been around since 1950 but which include not just the CIA but USAID and the funding mechanisms tasked with fighting “fake news” or building the fake border wall.

Defense tech in the US has gone for deniable nukes, crop diseases, killing of China’s pigs, learning how to spread infections with small drones, new forms of poison gas and neurotoxins and, of course, torture, prison and the ever popular “mind control.”

Real or not, the US pours cash into not just press control, the institutions of deception, Facebook and Google, but building the “compliant man” through eugenics, biochemistry and non-ionizing radiation. Creepy?

Critical to understand what is happening is understanding that everything you are told, every bit of information in TV shows, fiction and “non,” along with all news, analysis and the flood of “influencers,” flawed human disasters who pour garbage into the public sphere, all of this originates from longstanding organizations that despise humanity.

Who to look to in order to stop this? Not the US military for sure, they were long ago taken over by grocery clerks and “Perfumed Princes.”

To begin, reordering the world economy and currencies, which means migrating from Kosher Nostra owned central banks to a more stable trading platform worldwide.

Then we end climate denialism as we have seen science denialism build the weapon that is now killing us all.

In the US, eliminate the Electoral College, base the Senate on population, end the Supreme Court…all engineered into America by the precursor of the Kosher Nostra. This is childishly easy to document.

End health care/big pharma robbery, a huge tax on America.

Cut the military by 40%

Really do what Trump falsely claimed he was going to do under his fake populism, but do it recognizing that the US is interwoven with the world. There are no more countries.

End the lobbies for Israel, Saudi Arabia and Turkey in Washington, our most immediate threat. Turkey alone has spent $50 million on GOP congressmen in the last 2 weeks trying to buy their way into the EU to replace Britain, with Trump threats as a hammer against Europe.

This is a huge secret but there are so many more and they would sicken anyone.

All courts, criminal and civil in the US need to be restructured and taken out of the control of organized crime. Behind that, law schools need to be reformed and a new Bill of Rights needs to be drafted ending surveillance, ending government protected scams that impoverish working Americans, ending our fake governments at every level that are controlled by corporations that only front for the Kosher Nostra.

We must return America to civility, to safety for certain, but not as a tool of control and deception but as a task for all Americans, not just the looters and deceivers.

And with this, end the 2 party system…
