I just saw this. I hope everything went well for Willard and he's rapidly on the mend! for both of you.

PS...People who deliberately harm innocent creatures should have whatever they've done, done back to them!! That kind of evil behavior is unspeakable.

I agree that the punishment for hurting our 4 legged children should be BIG....like the laws of the Universe: 3x3x3

Aphrodite.....when Buddy was recovering, I put soft food on my finger to get him to have a small taste....so the fur idea sounds good to me. I also made Buddy real yogurt....fresh at home and fed him that. It soothed his tummy immeasurably. He got so spoiled during his illess that now, whenever I feed him, he has to have a little taste off my fingers.....he is such a baby doll !!!

Lady, my pitbull puppy, knows that Buddy is better cause she has been licking his face everytime she sees him. He loves her special kisses!!!

My love to all our little friends.

A kitty`s prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove
My human can't hardly move.

I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and I want food.

I sneak up slowly and begin
To nibble on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth.

For the morning is here and it's time to play
I always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I can see.

The one who hugs me and holds me tight
And sacrifices her bed for me at night!!

You all are so sweet

Willard is doing great. He is eating bland chicken and rice porridge, high fiber crunchies, and aloe vera. We didn't see him touch the water with chlorophyll in it.

How is Spanky doing, Heidi? I recollect you writing that pumpkin puree is a great source of fiber for cats.

Buddy sounds like a friendly guy La-Tee-Da! Homemade yogurt is yumm. I didn't know dogs could eat yogurt too. Yes, the fur idea is working well. We are still using it, though now he is eating a little more on his own and accepting bits from a spoon.

Awww, a pitbull puppy named Lady. What a loving relationship she has with Buddy.

I love animals

Hi Aphrodite,

Thanks for asking about Spanky. He is doing so much better!! Although he still has a peg tube in, he has started to eat by himself again, only small amounts, but it's wonderful considering for 3 months he couldn't eat without vomitting.

I am slowly weaning him off the peg tube feedings and the medication that he's on. Hopefully in a month we'll be able to remove the peg tube and he will be off all the medication.

He's starting to act like his old self again. He greets me at the door when I come home from work, he waits at the bathroom door so that he can jump in the tub as soon as I get out of the shower and he sleeps next to me with one paw on my arm.

I knew he was really starting to get back to normal tonight when he did his "Hurray!!! I just pooped" race around my apartment three times and then run over to the couch and started clawing it. (Why do cats always get so excited when they poop?) These days I let him claw whatever he wants!!! I am just so greatful that he is still in my life.

Jupniperb, I loved your Kitty Prayer.

Love and Light to All,

Heidi

Hi Heidi,

I realized, it has to be true love for my roommates and I to dig in the litter box in anxious search of a solid, day after day.

"Hurray, I just pooped," run by Spanky Isn't it great when they start doing things they used to do?

Yes! Poop is a huge part of recovery. Now, when I step in chicken poop, instead of getting annoyed as in the past, I remind mys-elf how poorly the chicks would feel if they didn`t poop!
