There are thousands of them. How about salads, soups, rissotto's, baked veggies, pies, hot pots, frittas, pasta's....How about you telling me what you like, then I'll post some recipes for you. I must admit it does help if you eat some dairy as well. Will it be all meat, including fish? Gia IP: Logged |

Hi Suzume, I will add some recipes with time. But I wanted to make an important point now after reading about your change in eating prefernce. The point is most vegetarians lack protein in their diet. You must include following in that case: - Tofu is great source of Protein in absence of meat in diet. Add it to any vegetables or wrap and it tastes great. - split pea. You can make split pea soup out of it. -soy beans Also please find here some important information about protein drinks : http://www.rwood.com/Articles/Choosing_Protein_Drinks.htm

Dear Suzume, Wonderful choice health-wise, and spiritually Please visit VegSource.com Please don't eat Soy unless it is fermented for at least 6 months, such as tofu or tempeh. Eat only a few times per week and not more than 4 oz. per meal. I have posted a link about Soy's dark side here on Health & Healing, maybe someone can dig it up. I have also posted many vegetarian recipes here. For protein choices, lentils are a great choice, less gas-ey than beans, & full of fiber and iron too. I buy a protein shake called "Vanilla Rice Protein" by Nutribiotic. Eat a lot of veggies with rice, couscous, pilaf, and other grains such as quinoa, etc. Use brown rice and wild rice. Don't eat white rice. Nuts are good. Whole grain breads such as Alvarado Street, Ezekiel, and sprouted grain breads. There are SO MANY things you can Eat! Good Luck and Enjoy! IP: Logged |

I'm a runner and love to play all sports, tho i'm not very good at 'em...My fave meal is stir-fry tofu with veggies and pasta. I love pretty much all vegan food. Tempeh takes some time to get used to, depending on how it's made. Seitan is one of the best things on Earth. I love almost all fruit and vegetables, though I may be one of the few folks who don't like avocado. I love carob though i also enjoy my chocolate!! Thanks for asking... What martial arts do you enjoy, Suzume? Do you practice it for profession or do you do that in addition to what you do for work? Take care, Karen IP: Logged |

I hate soy myself. I stopped eating it about five years ago.I do often use Quorn which Wholefoods have finally started to bring in. It's been available in Europe for ages. It's a processed mushroom that is very high in protein and very low in fat. It has no meat in it or soy products at all. It is all mushroom. It looks, and I've been told buy my husband, that it tastes like chicken. I marinated it and put it on the grill. All my guests thought they were eating chicken strips. I served them with a spicy dip. Gia IP: Logged |

Gia,I have tried that Quorn product too!!!!!! Did you try the nuggets? They look and taste similar to chicken nuggets!!! I wasn't sure how healthy they were, though, because I asked my Chiropractor who is a health nut, and he said to be careful of fungus, he wasn't sure how healthy it is??????? What do you think, or what have you heard about it?????? I read the whole box. Any research online about it? Just curuious IP: Logged |

We have been doing it for a couple of years now so thats my excuse. I met this lady who makes vegetarian stakes, 12 for 6 dollars. I am going to try them in a couple of days. I cant wait. Hopefully it will B nice. IP: Logged |

Mushrooms are a fungus, however they are also quite nutritious. They contain protein, B vitamins, copper, potassium and other trace minerals, as well as fibre. It's like anything else, moderation is the key. I have enjoyed Quorn for years. I have some research on it in my files. Bear with me as I have to find the correct box. It's in storage somewhere in the garage. I remember it was compared to Tofu and came out the winner. Did you know that the Ancient Egyptians thought that the common people were not fit to eat mushrooms, and reserved them only for the Pharoahs. The Romans served their greatest fighters mushrooms because they believed it gave them unusual strength. In the Far East, herbalists recommend eating Shitake mushrooms for a long and healthy life. In Italy and Greece mushroom collecting has become a national pastime. There are laws in place to stop them becoming extinct. We also have medications that come from mushrooms. Please remember we all eat things that contain fungus. Peanuts, fruit, cheese, root vegetables, all kinds of stuff. Gia

Gia, Thanks for the info. If I remember correctly, my Chiro. said to be careful of "mold". Both he AND my migraine Dr. said to eliminate peanuts becasue of the mold. I don't eat cheese much, because it isn't good for us, I only try to eat organic cheese once in awhile, also it is too fattening for me. Anyone who wants to dispute cheese can go to www.notmilk.com. Not to offend anyone. I'm at school and this keyboard is horrible. forgive my tpying mistakes. IP: Logged |
