I find grazing better for the metabolism, but if you eat like that fasting once in a while is recommended.

Sorry, but what is grazing?

Thank you all for posting the quick, easy, tasty, healthy food ideas. Thanks especially to SunChild for posting the info about microwaves. I use mine a couple of times a day, and I know I'm not getting the healthiest meals and snacks out of it, but I never realized how dangerous it might be. I'm going to try to use it a lot less.
I love to use salsa on baked potatoes and for dipping veggies, etc. It has a lot more flavor than some other less healthy condiments.

Do you know why water that comes in plastic bottles has an experiation date?

The water doesn't go bad, of course.

But that's the date when the government says the consumption of the absorbed plastic chemicals is no longer safe.

wow

What alternatives do you all use?

Aen, grazing is like snacking all day.

Trillian, that's sad about the water bottles, and because I know people who refill the bottles hundreds of times, with all that erosion, imagine how much plastic they drink? Yeck!

At home I have a water filter, and I fill a glass bottle with it, I have one in the fridge, and one at room temperature. I actually sit my filter on top of my purple plate for extra purity.

Yep. That's a high bar.

SunChild... you're cool!

What about Nalgene containers? I guess they are also made of some kind of plastic, but I had a roommate who loved them, and would use them but not other kinds of plastic containers like regular water bottles because they were somehow different. Are Nalgene bottles safer & better?

Hey, what a cool thread!
Sorry BR, I guess I cook too much so I don't have many quick recipes.
But you can always eat bunches of raw fruits and veggies or juice them up as well. Try different combos and see what you like the best.
Oh yeah, I buy hummus or guacamole and use it as a spread on celery sticks or carrots. It's quite tasty.

P.S. I think I might move to Boston too - and lose some weight

Did you say you left San Diego to come to Boston?
Wow, that must be a hell of a change. Why did you do it?

P.S. I live very close to Boston. It's not that bad(Boston). Very expensive - yeah.
