I thought this test was kind of interesting, and in some ways relevant when looked at through the eyes of spirituality. Although the whole problem with tests like these is that the results can change if the mindset of the individual has changed. http://www.auracolors.com/test.htm read about all the colours --> http://www.auracolors.com/

I got 10's in violet and indigo, and 5 out of 6 on the red overlay. The red overlay part really struck a chord with me... Any ideas on how to work through it? This is a major hinderance in my life. It brings tears to my eyes right now just thinking about it... Anyone else have a red overlay? IP: Logged |

I'm a combination of Yellow and Violet:Yellows are the most fun-loving, free-spirited, energetic, and childlike personalities in the aura spectrum. Yellows are wonderful, sensitive, optimistic beings, whose life purpose is to bring joy to people, to have fun, and to help heal the planet. Yellows can either be very shy and sensitive, or they can be the life of the party. These playful characters have a great sense of humor. They love to laugh and to make others laugh. Yellows believe life is to be enjoyed. They like to live life freely and spontaneously. With a perpetual smile on their face, they remind people to not take themselves or their problems too seriously. Yellows would prefer not to work at all, unless their work was fun, playful, or creative. They love nature, and often have concerns for the survival of wildlife and the environment. Dogs are very drawn to Yellows and often become their best friends. Violets are the inspirational visionaries, leaders and teachers who are here to help save the planet. Most Violets feel drawn to educate the masses, to inspire higher ideals, to improve the quality of life on the planet, or to help save people, animals and the environment. All Violets have an inner sense that they are here to do something important, that their destiny is greater than that of the average person. Most Violets have felt this way since childhood. As children, many Violets imagined becoming famous, or traveling the planet, possibly joining humanitarian causes such the Peace Corp. Many of these charismatic personalities take on roles as leaders and teachers, while other Violets prefer to reach people through music, film or other art form. Because this era is currently the "Violet Age," any Violets who are not accomplishing what they came here to do are experiencing an inner “push” — even an inner “earthquake.” Inner forces seem to be shaking them up and pushing them to move into action, to fulfill their life purpose. Violets know they are here to do something significant. However, they aren't always sure what that something is or how to accomplish it. Many Violets were taught as children that their dreams and aspirations were unrealistic, so they have lost touch with their original visions. It's important for Violets to reconnect with their life purpose and vision, and to take action. Otherwise they will always feel unfulfilled. They will always sense something is missing from their lives. Violets need to learn to slow down long enough to listen to their inner voice and to connect with their higher vision. IP: Logged |

I've taken this test a few times, and while some of the results vary a point, it's pretty consistent. Indigo, then Crystal have always been the highest, followed by Violet, Abstract Tan and Lavender in some order. The rest I usualy score 4 or less. Yellow and Enironmental Tan seems to be the only middle one. I scored higher on Environmental Tan this time for some reason, possibly due to my recent bad experiencee with my last job that has made me more senstive to my environment.Indigo - 12 Crystal - 11 Abstract Tan - 10 Violet - 9 Lavender - 9 Environmental Tan - 9 Yellow - 7 Magenta - 4 Logical Tan - 4 Orange - 4 Blue - 3 Green - 2 Red - 2 Sensitive Tan - 1 Red Overlay - 2 It appears that the others I scores high in have a lot of overlap with Indigo, while the ones with less overlap with Indigo I scored much lower. Seems logical. The frustrating irony of this is I have been told by some "experts" on Indigos that I cannot be one because I'm too old. Whatever. Bt what is said about Indigos is essentially true of me, except I was born before 1977. Indigos Indigo is the most recent aura color to arrive on the planet. Indigos are ushering in a new energy, a new consciousness, and a new age of peace and harmony. Whereas Violets feel driven to help save the planet, to educate the masses, and to improve life here, Indigos are here to live as examples of a new higher awareness. At this writing, most of the Indigos are children, although there are a few Indigos who came as forerunners years ago. The words used to describe Indigos include honest, aware, highly intuitive, psychic, independent, fearless, strong-willed, and sensitive. Indigos are old souls who know who they are and where they've come from. Some consider Indigos to be bizarre. These assertive individuals are born with their spiritual memories intact. Many parents report that their Indigo children regale them with vivid details of past lives or recent encounters with spiritual beings. Parents also report that these children can read their minds and seem to have amazing psychic abilities. Parents are often at a loss as to how to raise these amazing little beings. An unusual characteristic of Indigos is that they frequently appear androgynous. It is often difficult to tell if Indigos are male or female, homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, or asexual. It's as if Indigos have both the yin and yang, male and female qualities within them. Their sexuality is not their primary concern however; it is their spirituality. IP: Logged |

Well I can't sleep and felt curious, so I ended up finding the book and typing up the pages ~ here you go. The Red Overlay People are not born with a Red Overlay. It is usually added to the outer bands of the aura early in life because the person felt a need for protection. The color red vibrates at a slower rate; therefore, it is denser and stronger, making it a suitable protective barrier. This band is not the same as the Red Life Color, which some are born with and which is located in the band closest to the body. The two most common indications that a person is carrying a Red Overlay are feelings either of intense anger and rage or of continuous struggle and self-sabotage. Although the overlay can offer protection, it can also become a terrible burden. If it isn't eventually removed from the aura, the protective shield will eventually become a prison. Although it protects people from others, it also shuts them off from life and all life has to offer. Carrying a Red Overlay can often lead to life-threatening situations. Richard Pryor has a Red Overlay as did John Lennon of the The Beatles. Often people are unaware of the red in their auras. There are obvious signs when red exists in the aura, however, the most dramatic being an intense, explosive anger that can flare up over minor incidents. People with Red Overlays can have short fuses. They tend to see life as a battleground. People who are sensitive and uncomfortable expressing anger will instead have a tendency to be self-destructive or to sabotage their lives, turning their anger on themselves, in a sense. By suppressing their strong feelings of anger, they create more complications and self-inflicted pain. Each aura color has a tendency to sabotage life in an area that is important. Blues with Red Overlays tend to sabotage their ability to have lasting and healthy relationships. Yellows tend to create health problems. Violets either don't see their Violet visions or don't accomplish them. Tans and Greens will typically struggle with financial success or security. And if the overlay is unusually strong, all aura colors may sabotage life in all these areas. People usually add red to their auras for at least one of the following reasons. They had life-threatening situations at birth or at a young age that caused them to perceive they may die or that the world was not a safe place. Examples include birth complications, severe illnesses, choking, nearly drowning, or suffocating. Many people do not remember these incidents, and so the source of their anger or struggle, as well as their feelings of dread or of impending disaster, remains a mystery to them. People may also add red if they have been physically, emotionally, or mentally abandoned or rejected. Red bands frequently appear in people who were unwanted children, or who were separated or adopted at a young age. This appearance can also apply to children who felt emotionally abandoned by a parent, even when the parent was physically present in the home. Frequently, as children these people blamed themselves for their parents' behavior or attitudes. They felt unloved or inadequate. The most obvious cause for red in the aura is physical, emotional, or mental abuse. Children who have been sexually abused, beaten, or raised by alcoholic or verbally abusive parents usually feel that the world is an unsafe and undependable place and that protection is necessary for survival. Red can appear even around children who felt emotionally or physically smothered or suppressed. They feel betrayed by the adults, who were supposed to love, nurture, and protect them as children. Some aura colors are affected more by one parent than the other. Blues, for example, need to bond with their mothers. Yellows need to connect with their fathers. And violets need to feel acknowledged, encouraged, and supported by at least one parent to feel validated and powerful enough to accomplish their extraordinary goals. Not everyone who felt abandoned by a parent has a Red Overlay, however. The experience had to be intense or serious enough to have threatened the emotional or physical survival instincts of the child. (After years of working with people who have Red Overlays, I have discovered that it is very common for some souls who feel their mission is to help improve life here to have chosen to be born into dysfunctional families. It appears that by witnessing or experiencing the pain, fear, and confusion themselves, they can understand other people's struggles. This ability helps them become powerful and empathetic leaders, teachers, and healers). People need to remove their Red Overlays. Most people, however, will not release them as long as they continue to believe that life is not safe. Some people have transformed their overlays from anger to a powerful passion and zest for life, giving them a strengthened determination to reach their goals. Unfortunately, it is more common for people to feel victimized, powerless, and stuck with the burden of their Red Overlays. Three basic methods can remove the Red Overlays. One is to visualize the red disappearing or changing into another color. (This is effective only if you truly have faith in the power of visualizaton). Another is to relive the past in your imagination, but rewrite or reinterpret the circumstances. For example, if you were physically abused, visualize yourself as the adult you are now protecting the child you were then. You can visualize yourself preventing the abusive behavior by standing between the child (yourself) and the abusive adult. If you felt abandoned or rejected as a child, you can visualize being with that child, comforting and telling the child that you love it. Imagination and visualization techniques are important when rewriting the past. Your emotional, mental, and physical bodies will respond by feeling safer and more loved, thereby lessening the need for the protective red. The third method is therapy. Anger usually stems from hurt and fear. You can work out your anger and fear by discussing, reliving, and understanding what happened and by forgiving the people who caused you to feel unsafe or unloved. Forcing forgiveness will not work. True forgiveness comes when there is an honest understanding why abusive or abandoning people acted the way they did. Therapy can help you make new, healthier decisions and release past traumatic experiences. Until true understanding, forgiveness, and release are experienced and it feels safe to let go of your protective red shield, you will usually hold onto anger and self-destructive behavior. People with Red Overlays run the highest risk of heart attacks, cancer, and other life-threatening situations. They have a hard time living with their internal fear, anger, guilt, and doubt. They must release their Red Overlays to live full, healthy lives. IP: Logged |
