Would anyone care to share their requests? I'm working on my birthplan and don't want to miss anything important.

Specifically, I'm looking for tips on immediate care of the baby after birth. (No vitamin K shot, etc.)

I would seriously appreciate any input.

Thanks

oh goodness! I haven't been around these parts for awhile..

You haven't had the little one yet, have you?

If not..... let's see. I wonder if you are having a hospital birth, birthing center or homebirth? I'm guessing hospital..in which case I think it's especially important to have a specific birth plan. For me it would be along the lines of-
~(if available) a birthing tub,
~freedom to move around deliver in the position of my choice
~non-invasive monitoring only (no scalp plug thingy or whatever it is they do)
~no epidural
~no pitocin
~baby rooms in- not to be out of my or my partner's presence EVER
~no circumcision
~no hepatitis b vaccine- or any vax at all
~no vitamin k shot -unless the birth involves something traumatic like vaccuum, forceps and is born with excessive bruising or some other evidence of lack of blood clotting ability
~no eye goop, unless I had a venereal disease of some kind

So that's my birthplan in a nutshell. Though next time I think I'll do a homebirth so I won't have to worry too much about it.

So, if you did end up having your baby already, future_uncertain, CONGRATULATIONS! I hope it went as you hoped and I always enjoy birth stories!
