#1. 75% of people are chronically dehydrated.

#2. In 37% of people, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of dieters

#5. Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

Excellent information. I'd like to add that tap water needs to be avoided. Distilled or filtered water is best. I try to drink exclusively nothing but water since most colas, teas, and even juices have their problems. I learned once also that water should be drunk on an empty stomach. You should also drink water about 10 minutes or so before eating meals. And drink when you're thirsty (provided you haven't recently eaten).

I find that I am much thirstier during the day if I start my day out with a tall glass of water...a good thing! I concur, the peeing thing does suck..especially when you are asleep on the couch with your signifcant other or when you are in a movie theatre ( the two times I get annoyed the most about the urge to pee )

great info! Water is also very theraputic..when I am stressed out I take loooong showers and let the water purify my aura and body.

Very true, water can be and usually is a cure for most minor ailments.. headaches, nausea, pains, tiredness, asthma, ect...

It is true most people are dehydrated.

There's a string I started about this:
WHAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT WATER: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001482.html

Water quality is important too, make sure your source is from a spring if possible, avoid tap water unless it is purified, and add sea salt and msm (organic sulfur found in the cycle of rain) to water as much as possible. This process is called (charging water)- drink a glass of 'charged water' and you will NOT wee it out. Most of it will be absorbed. If you find that you drink water to only urinate it all out, the water quality is not good.
It's hexagonal structure is damaged and your body cannot absorb it all.

The absolute best source to get water is from watery foods such as fruits and vegetables. Eat more salads and fruits and you'll get more water than you need without having to dring a bunch of water.

Interesting about the MSM ~ and synchronistic ~ I just bought Emergen-C Lite with MSM.

That's why I hate going to movie theatres. I can't sit through a movie without either suffering about to burst, or having to run to the restroom during the movie. And yes, I always go right before and right after.

At home I can hit "pause" as many times as needed.

Why is it, do you think, that humans are so drawn to water? We all love beaches, water sports, swimming pools, just the look of water is refreshing and relaxing, and stimulating all at the same time. Little kids love water guns, water balloons, slip - n - slides, etc. We all love fountains and water gardens.

Could it be a memory of ancient healing?
