I have a ton of favourite vegan recipes I use all the time to replace milk, cream, cheese, mayonaise, ect...

I thought I'd post it since it is now known soy is the last thing anyone should eat.

Mylk:
1 Cup of RAW Almonds Soaked over night in 1 Cup of water.

Strain.

Put into a blender with 2 -3 Cups of Water.

Blend for 45 Seconds.

Strain.

For flavor you can add vanilla bean, honey, dates ect...

~You can use the pulp for a hummus recipe below~

Keeps for 5 days in fridge

Mayonaise
1 Cup of almond mylk

1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1/2 Small lemon juice

2 Teaspoons onion powder

Pinch of Sea Salt

1 Cup of Cold pressed Virgin Olive Oil

Put all ingredients except oil into blender, blend well for a few seconds, turn on low setting and slowly drizzle oil into the mix...it should thicken a bit and then return to fridge overnight.

So yummy!

No bean Hummus
1 Cup of Almond pulp

1/2 Cup Tahini

1/2 Cup Lemon Juice

1 Clove garlic

Blend. Yum.

Cashew Cheeze

Blend 1 Cup of cashews with onion powder, lemon juice, salt, apple cider vinegar keeping a thick consistency. You can either add garlic or honey to make it savory or sweet.
If you put it in the grill on the lowest setting and let it dehydrated for half the day...it turns into a vintage tasting cheeze.
You can substitute cashews for another fatty nut like macadamia.

Brazil nut pate
This is my secret weapon for guests.

1 Cup brazil nuts

1/4 cup lime juice

1 Pinch Salt

1 Tablespoon tahini

Blend.

Macadamia Cream

Blend 1 cup of macadamias with 1/2 Cup of Cashew cheeze, adn 1/2 cup of Mayonaise. mmmm

Fantastic SunChild! You made these up? I'm already vege, but need to wean off dairy (though difficult!) since it affects my voice when I try and sing. I'm also allergic to Soy!

You know my housemate WaterBaby has now joined LL? She's looking to go more vegan - I'll repaste this in her post in FFA

Thanks, I love these recipes.

I've been drinking ryemilk. Before that I drank oatsmilk. I haven't been eating much soya. One lad I've just met recently had rambled about how he thought dairy cheese was good for you because of some properties in it, how dairy yoghurt was good for you because of its bacteria, but that he could not stand drinking cow's milk (???) and that he reckoned that goat's milk was better absorbed by humans. Then he started talking about how he used to replace dairy with soymilk.

Anyhow I dont drink soya milk nowadays, rarely eating soya products even. I think I get enough protein from my ryemilk, veg and fruit, wholemeal grains and stuff. I still have baked beans sometimes but I don't like the seasoning its just too strong. I prefer eating peanut butter instead of beans now. I think peanuts are lovely so long as I'm not allergic to it.

I munch on raw almonds all the time but have yet to try my hand at homemade almond milk. today is the day!

I've been peeking into the world of probiotics - fermented stuff like kefir and kombucha tea. know anything?

haven't bumped into you in a while. hope you're doing well.

I buy Unsweetened Almond Milk by Blue Diamond. You can get it at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. I can't have sugar in any form, so thank god they now make this unsweetened one. I use it on cereal, in protein shakes, and in baking.

I add my own sweetener; either Xylitol or Stevia.

I did make my own almond milk for awhile but it got to be just too much trouble, and expensive to have to buy so many almonds.

Thanks, Sunchild.

TINK! I never see you around anymore, and I have missed you. I hope you're well.

Sheaa ... Tummy is good...feeling bloated though.

Tink!! Lovely to see you! I'm doing well...Hope you are too. Yes I've heard of fermented foods, like rejuvelac. (Feremented cabbage, then strained) I don't really like fermented food but it is good for you. I've heard of kombucha, it's really popular amongst raw foodists.

Nephthys How are you? I've missed running into to you too. How are the classes going? last I heard you were becoming a vet, right?

And Sheaa too It's like a walk down memory lane.

Sunchild ~ Fermented cabbage?! *gulp* Maybe I'll stick with the kefir.

Does anyone soak their grains - oats and wheat and that sort of thing?

ArtLovesDawn ~

Sunchild posted a link to a great article that explains why we shouldn't eat Soy. I think it might be on another thread

Tink ~

I'm studying to be a Wildlife Biologist. I just started a new semester and it is SO MUCH work. Each semester I get so overwhelmed.

Hopefully we'll *bump* into each other again! *tee*hee*
