Just wanted to share, with those who can't have sugar, like me.

See's Candies now makes/sells sugar free dark chocolate walnut clusters, and peanut brittle. They use maltitol as the sweetener. I just bought the chocolate walnut and it's really, really good! Yippee!

I don't think he would be able to last 2 days. He has to eat candy the minute he gets it.

Yes Nep! He is so bad. He is diabetic also. I always find piles of candy wrappers and snack wrappers where he has left them. He will eat a whole package of the mini candy bars in a sitting.

OMG I Love Reeses!!! I actually am not supposed to have peanuts because I have Candida, and peanuts are universally contaminated with mold, but every once in awhile I buy ThinkThin Creamy Peanut Butter Protein bars. They taste almost as good as a Reeses (for someone like me who can't have sugar)........You might want to try some for him! Why is he eating sugar when he's diabetic? They make a lot of sugar free things these days.

On the old, old, OLD LG site, Linda used to "recite" about each sign. About Taurus, she said, "Stubbon Taurus will dig in their heels....." I'll never forget that! LOL!

It's true! We just can't help it.

Hi ArtlovesDawn ~

First, did you see my reply to you at Pilgrims Progress? I am so sorry about that!

Anyhow, I think glycemic index is how it affects your blood sugar levels.

The thing is, I buy Joseph's Sugar Free Maple Syrup and on it, it says "safe for diabetics". So I figure anything that is safe for diabetics, is safe for me (from a sugar free standpoint). It uses maltitol.

Anything ending in "ol" is an alcohol.

So these are sugar alcohols. I really haven't had any bad effect other than gas from eating them. Yep, if you eat too much, you get gas. LOL!

I like Xylitol better than Stevia. I just don't like Stevia any more. It is too sweet, it doesn't work well in baking, and it has a funny kind of bitter after taste (sometimes I notice it, sometimes I don't).

So I buy Xylitol to sprinkle on hot cereal, or use in baking, or in my protein shakes. It is expensive, but hey! WE don't have a whole lot of choices here!

BlueMoon ~ That's hilarious! Well I already ate over 1/2 the bag. Today we went to Trader Joe's and they have a sugar free chocolate bar there, so I bought 2 bars. It is only $1.99 each compared to $8.25 for the See's!!! So I can buy their's instead. (they use maltitol too). Now maybe I can make some Choc. Chip cookies with it!! Cool!

hey artlovesdawn ~ here's one of my discoveries ~ try sprinkling salt on your grapefruit rather than sweetener. for some reason, the salt brings out the sweetness of the fruit. it's way better than sugar!
