I am sick and I can't stop coughing. I have a sugar free/alcohol free cough syrup. I take the cough drops Ricola.

It's driving me nuts and so annoying. I can't go to school tomorrow and be coughing all over the place, and during lectures!!!!

thanks,been drinking tea for 3-4 days now, with fresh lemon too. Good Earth brand is very good. But I cna't have honey, 'cos I ca't have sugar. Sorry can't type cos I'm sick.

Is the cough caused by itchy tickling or by phlegm? If by itchy tickling try Chlorpheniramine Maleate. It is an anti histamine I have found to work. I must watch the sugar too and those liquid things almost all have sugar. There are some diabetic ones out there. Gargling with salt water too.
If you can tolerate hot peppers they stop the tickle and clear the sinus too.
If it is phlegm, do not laugh, but a non sugar carbonated drink when used to gargle, as you growl and hum...clears phlegm out beautifully! And makes your throat not feel tight and dry. Cola and Root beer work the best. BTW..got my radio! Have not opened it up yet!
Will let you know!
Take care, get some rest.
Also a little tooth pain medicine added to a gargle can help.

My dear, beautiful granny Gee, used to feed me whiskey and honey..and it SO worked...

Just a shot of each, or less, will do!!!

Really, tho, in my "old age" (and my profession) I have come to know that it is the sweetness of the honey and the coating texture that is the key, blended with the central nervous system depressant properties of the whiskey--that really works!!

Comercially produced, over the counter cough medicines include alcohol and prescription medications contain codiene---both central nervous system depressants...

The same method!!!

And how it does work!!!

Sometimes late at night when I awake with an allergy-induced cough I go and find something sweet...and off to sweet dreams am I!!!

Nephthys for any coughs or lung Dis-ease that I may have and have found it to work better then any other remedies or product that I have used thus far is, this pill form of Garlic and Parsley. I've beem taking now for over 6yrs and have managered to not even have a common cold for more then a couple of days.

Better even yet is to take your fresh Garlic and Parsley fresh!!!
