LMB...I realize Laura's rejecting you now is eating at your heart, but you might have to realize she might not want you to see her like this.

If you could somehow let her know that you love her no matter what, and that you need her, she might be more open with you. You don't have to tell her outright, you can just talk to her late at night (soul to soul) before you go to sleep. I find this really works.

Please keep us updated...we care about Laura...and we you!!

Also it occured to me that she might be distancing herself from you so you will have a better trip to Ireland. So you won't go with too much worry on your mind about her. I think she is more worried about you than she is about hersELF!!

Thank you everyone, Chandra, Yivy, Raines, Randall.

Laura doesn't have much choice in living at home with psycho mom. she needs her for medical help (?) and can't afford to live out on her own. Ugh.

Laura and I talked about me feeling distanced from her. She understands why I would feel that way and now we're working on repairing that.

Medically, Laura's Hickman line is causing problems. She already has a rash and a fever and she's afraid she's infected which woudl NOt be good.

She was supposed to start school and work tomorrow. She would be a social worker for mentally ill children. she'd be great at it. Unforutnatley, she realized that she couldn't do it. she's taking one class already. she coudln't do the job. she's crusehd about this. what kidn of life is this??

thanks for all your support, all.
and chandra, you especially for sharing your wisdom. I'm sorry for your traumatic past. I send you lots of hugs and warm light.

Love to all,
LMB

LMB,

This is the first time I have read your thread about you and your sisters plight....I am at a loss for words. The pain in your words that your dear friend has endured tore though my heart and my mind.....please let your sister know that there are people such as myself who would more than be grateful to her if she would reach out and share a bit of her with us. Laura is an incredible human being. I hope I have an opportuntiy to connect with her in some way, I would love to be touched by a soul such as her's with so much to offer....

peace
Barb

Gosh, so much sorrow, such a death wish possibly... or is it her body-mind is too exhausted now... Does she have anger sometimes about the unfairness of it all?
Anger is often my motor, like in "I will show them!"

Honestly, Laura has more zest for life than almost anyone I know. She gets very frustrated, sad and angry, but she knows that now that she is emotionally healthy, she can have a better life. and she wants to. it's just her body that gets in the way.

thanks for caring,

LMB

Laura was just admitted into the hospital. Her Hickman line has been infected and they have to take it out. Nothing is working out for her. I'm so scared and angry. Her doctors are being idiots and totally unsupportive. I'm so scared.

hug your loved ones.

Excuse me all for my absence. I just moved and don't have access to my own computer yet. But soon. I hope to be back more soon.

Randall, you kindly asked about Laura and I wish to update you.

She's been in and out of the hospital for a while. She got a port put in instead of the hickman line.

However, she developed a cold just last week which has turned into a lung infection and now she's on massive doses of steroids and they want to admit her. She's trying to buy as much time as she can, but she might have to go in.

Her lungs are very tricky. They've been deteriorating since she was six months old so whenever her lungs are affected, it can get very dangerous.

Please keep her in your prayers...
You all are in mine.
Thanks,

LMB

First, let me say how guilty I feel for being away from this site for so long. I am just so busy and I don't have my own computer and it's just so hard.
Second, let me thank all of you for sending your good energies to Laura.

She is surviving, though it is hard. Her lung infection became dangerous and she had to have a blood transfusion and some other techinical things. Basically, she has internal bleeding and even the people at Mayo can't find out what is going on. We're all scared.

Yivy, it's strange - you said she might "go away" from me soon....and though I saw her over Christmas, she is not returning our phone calls or our invitations for her to come up and visit us. It feels like she is pulling away from us. That really hurts.

Well, I'm going to go check out the rest of the site...

My love to all,

LMB
