I am a bit overweight, and I drink way too much pop. I wouldn't be so if I could stop drinking my favorite beverage. However, I want to make it clear I have no problem giving up fattening foods, and I exercise fairly a lot, it's just pop I struggle with.
So does anybody have any good suggestions of what to drink instead? A drink that would be equally carbonated and delicious?

I ADORE "Topo Chico" A southern US thing, but it is likened to San Pelligrino.

Mineral water with lots of carbonation...you can flavor with lime or lemon.

Carbonation is what gets me with soda/pop's

I can redily do without the flavor of such, but I love the fizzy bubbles!

I dont know where you reside.

You call it "pop"...I am a US Midwesterer by birth, a Texan by otherthings.

But San Pelligrino is widely available everywhere.

There are even machines, have seen them om TV that will make soda pop for you.

It is all about the carbonation, I think.

Look for a mineral water that is carbonated, make sure there are NO additives, especially sugars,, ESPECIALLY high fructose corn syrup, just a carbonated mineral water.

Then, add a squirt of fresh lime, lemon, peach, whatever...

Personally I like mine plain and just fizzy!

I could live on champange, due to the high content of CO2, however that crap will give me a headache like no other.

SO, experiment!

Find yourself a good quality carbonated mineral water and go from there!

best of luck and...

blessins!!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Kombucha is expensive but yummy, especially the berry flavors.

You could also try making Rejuvelac, a fizzy, tangy drink made from sprouted wheat berries. I drink that a lot.

Kombucha is a fermented tea. You can make it yourself with a starter from Amazon like you would make yogurt.

I just tried a new company and I like it better Keevita. I used to use the other one I can't remember now.

I bet Faith knows the name

How funny, I'm drinking Kevita as I type (coconut mango flavor, yum.)

You used to drink...G.T's Synergy Kombucha maybe? I drink that a lot...I like the Multi-Green. More importantly, my children like it.

Yes. I never heard of the mushrooms being used any other way. Do people eat them?

I used to make my own kombucha...some day I'll do it again.

Faith I have no idea, just had to research it when I heard it referenced in a song.

Where do you buy it?

Would like to give it a try!

Yes, it is the Synergy Kombucha.

I have some in my refrig. I like the Kevita better. It is not as rich or sweet.

One bottle has 20 calories compared to about 60 of the other.

I just like it better though.

Try drinking plain seltzer water and when you pour it into a glass add just one drop, or sometimes two, of an essential oil made from grapefruit. It tastes good and helps your metabolism.

You can try other flavors of essential oils that are safe for ingestion like lemon, peppermint, or even an herbal mixture (ask a Young Living Oils representative or another oil distributor for recommendations)

Another option you can try is Gaterade, it comes in several flavours.

A lot of athletes drink it.

Hi whitewitch111.

Do you drink water?
If so, how much, how often and when?

Thanks.

I use GT's Enlightened Organic Raw Kombucha to steer myself away from alcoholic brews and spirits. And I credit the dual combination of my magical Delonghi Magnifica S and GT's Kombucha for completely kicking my nasty Diet Coke habit. (My favorite flavor of GT's Kombucha is Gingerade! )

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting for a while. Well, I recently went to the doctor who said I was close to being pre-diabetic. This caused a great fear in me and motivation to change. I now go to my local gym four days a week, for an hour and a half. Do an hour of yoga and 30 minutes of belly dancing each day. And while I still over eat, it is healthier foods. I also now only drink soda once a week.
