I was reading what Ellynlvx wrote about in another thread about the perfect sandwich, like it is an art all in its own. I could feel the longing. (I think it was written in Health and Healing)What's your idea of the perfect sandwich? IP: Logged |

Mine would be: - real mature cheddar - tandoori turkey (sliced thin) - fresh coriander leaves - oven baked tomatoes - olive oil in ciabatta bread IP: Logged |

I prefer whole loaves to sliced bread, when I eat I'll tear off chunks of bread. Mmmm...My version(s) of the perfect sandwich: - Freshly baked bread - Olive oil - Tomatoes Or
- Fresh bead - Sweet chilli sauce - Turkey ham - Spinach Or - Date n walnut bread - Ice cream, clotted cream or honey - Peanut butter - Condensed milk

I am making a russian crab salad tomorrow after trying it for the first time last weekend - made by friend from Russia and the most delish thing i've had in a long time. The secret ingredient is a teaspoon of creamy horseradise sauce....bet it will be great between two slices of toasted bread.... IP: Logged |

Never thought to make a shredded grilled cheese sandwich. You take it up a notch with your combo cheese, tomato and bread selection.

Do you roast your own tandoori turkey?

Do you roast your own tandoori turkey?[/B][/QUOTE]I prepare it myself yes, although I'm not sure "roast" is the exact verb for the method. What I do is I prepare my tandoori paste, spread it on the turkey meat (I buy the turkey already cut), then I put each bit in a little aluminium foil pouch, well sealed and not too tight. 25 minutes in the oven then I open the pouches, and back into the oven for everything to dry a little (time depends on how much steam/water is in the pouch). Same method is also perfect for chicken if you intend to have a real tandoori meal. I like turkey better for the sandwich though. IP: Logged |
